Chapter forty-seven lock the heart

"Brother Ami."

Lu Huineng stood up, put his hands together, bowed slightly to Su Dawei, and greeted him.

"You are becoming more and more like a monk now." Su Dawei looked at him. Apart from his lack of ordain, this teenage man really looked like a monk and had a clean atmosphere.

I felt a little depressed when I thought about it. I originally took him by my side and wanted to add a helper to solve the case. Now, it seems that I have helped Master Xuanzang recruit more disciples.

Scratching his head, Su Dawei said to Xuanzang: "Master, I have something..."

"You sit down first and let me finish this sutra." Master Xuanzang nodded slightly.

Even if I have a stomach full of my stomach, I can't speak at this time.

Su Dawei walked to the corner cushion as he said and sat down cross-legged.

"Huineng, you sit down."

"Yes, mage."

The smoke curled in the room, and the skylight outside penetrated through the tower window, making it peaceful and quiet.

Master Xuanzang put his hands together, his eyebrows and eyes were compassionate, and he slowly said, "At that time, the World Honored One said, "All the harmony is like stars, lamps, dew bubbles, dreams and lightning clouds, so you should observe this way."

At that time, Bhagavan said that this sutra was already revealed, and the Venerable appeared and all the Bhagavans, Bhagavans, Uposokah, Uposaka, and all the heavens, people, Asulo, Jiandafu, etc., after hearing what Bhagavan said, they were all very happy and believed and followed."

After saying that, he paused for a moment, Xuanzang continued, "The Diamond Sutra has been said at this point. If you have any questions, you can ask."

"Master."

Su Dawei couldn't help but speak, "I'm familiar with the Diamond Sutra. The last sentence I remember is that everything is like dreams, illusions, bubbles, and shadows, like dew and lightning. All conditioned phenomena should be viewed in this way."

After saying this, the walker in the corner suddenly lifted his eyelids, not knowing whether it was a laugh or something, and let out a "sneer".

Su Dawei said a little embarrassedly: "Are you saying it wrong?"

"What you said is also good."

Master Xuanzang taught: "The Diamond Sutra you recited is a translation of Master Sanzang of Yao Qin and Kumarajiva. What I just recited was the original translation of the Diamond Sutra brought back from India."

Seeing Su Dawei's face showing confusion, Xuanzang continued: "In the eighth year of Taiyuan in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Taizu of Liang took Kumarajiva, the eminent monk from the Western Regions, and arrived in Liangzhou, Gansu.

Kumarajiva spent 17 years in Liangzhou to promote Buddhism and study Chinese. In the third year of Hongshi of the Later Qin Dynasty, he entered Chang'an. In the eleventh year, he translated it with his disciples into the Great Prajna Sutra, the Lotus Sutra, the Vimalakirti Sutra, the Amitabha Sutra, the Diamond Sutra and other sutras, the Madhyamaka Sutra, the Hundred Treatises, and the Twelve Gate Treatises.

"Oh." Su Dawei looked unconscious and said to himself: I only know that this monk seems to be the prototype of Jiumozhi in the Tianlong Ba Tribe. As for what this person does, I don't know very well.

Lu Huineng, who was standing beside him, suddenly said, "Master, how is your literal translation different from the Kumarajiva translation?"

Before Xuanzang could speak, Ming Chongyan, who was sitting next to Huineng, said, "You don't know this? Kumarajiva himself is proficient in Chinese and is good at music. His translation is concise and rhyme. It is as catchy as poetry, making it easy to recite and remember.

As for Master Xuanzang's literal translation, it is completely based on the original meaning of Sanskrit. One is to translate the spirit and the other is to respect the original text. This is the difference."

When he said this, Lu Huineng looked up at the sky, his mouth wide open, and his face was confused.

Xuanzang smiled and said, "The Kumarajiva version is easy to pass on, but it is somewhat different from the original meaning of Sanskrit. People with a certain Buddhist foundation can understand the meaning of the sutra."

After a pause, he continued, "When talking about this, I remember that when Taizong was still alive, he also discussed with me about the Diamond Sutra. It was the 22nd year of Zhenguan, and Taizong visited Luoyang Palace...

At that time, Taizong asked me: The Vajra Prajna Sutra is born from all Buddhas, and it is not slandered by hearing it, and it is a contribution that exceeds the body and life.

It is not within the treasures of the Continental Sand, but it is reasonable and subtle agreement...

I don’t know if the meaning translated by the previous generations is complete?”

Su Dawei was shocked, and the fire of the gossip in his heart was burning. He asked Master Xuanzang: "How did the master answer at that time?"

"I replied to Taizong at that time: I have read the old scriptures now, and there are some omissions. Later, Taizong and I had a very happy conversation with me on the original meaning of the scriptures, and they did not return to Chang'an until October. It was precisely because of this that I later translated the Sanskrit Diamond Sutra as a literal translation."

"So there is such a story."

Su Dawei touched his chin, and a thought flashed through his mind, muttering to himself: "Emperor Taizu recognized Li Laojun as his ancestor and advocated Taoism, but in Taizong, he seemed to prefer Buddhism."

"Ami, what do you think is the difference between Buddha and Tao?"

Master Xuanzang asked softly with his hands.

This sound roared in Su Dawei's ears, as if the bell of a big bell.

There seemed to be a lightning flash in my mind, and I was speechless for a moment.

The sunlight outside was like fog and sludge, shining on Master Xuanzang's body, with smoke and clouds on his cassock, and the treasure was solemn.

In Su Dawei's eyes, Xuanzang's face was blurred at this time, like a big Buddha.

This is......

After a long time, Su Dawei's body was shocked and he woke up from that strange experience.

He was shocked to find that the vitality in his body suddenly became lively and even a little ready to move.

I know my own affairs. Since last year, my practice has been in a bottleneck for a long time. However, just now, Master Xuanzang's seemingly casual words seemed to have touched something, making him feel as if he had entered a state of sudden enlightenment.

Unfortunately, this process is fleeting.

"Buddha and Tao..."

What's the difference?

Su Dawei had a faint intuition in his heart. Perhaps he could answer this question and he could suddenly get out of the bottleneck.

"Ami, why not listen to the views of the practitioner." Xuanzang's eyes were cast through the fog, as if he could see through everything.

"Walker?"

His eyes looked at the walker who was napping with the iron rod, and he saw that at some point he had opened his eyes and a golden light flashed in his eyes.

"Buddha and Tao? Hehe."

The walker's iron rod gently stroked on the ground, making the sound of metal and stone.

"Before I followed my master to go to India to obtain scriptures, there was a master named Subhuti, who was proficient in both Buddhist and Buddhist paths."

Gudu~

Su Dawei's throat squirmed for a moment and subconsciously swallowed his saliva.

There was a voice in my heart shouting: All Bodhi Patriarch has come out, it seems that this practitioner is really Sun Wukong’s true deity.

I don’t know how Wu Chengen, who wrote Journey to the West, collected first-hand information, but it was quite reliable.

A messy thought flashed through my mind, and I heard the practitioner continue to say, "Master Subhuti once told me that Tao is heaven; Buddha is earth, and we, man, are between heaven and earth."

Xuanzang, Ming Chongyan and Lu Huineng both looked silent but seemed to have some enlightenment.

Only Su Dawei was a little confused. After a few seconds, he tentatively said, "Senior Brother Walker, can you speak human words?"

"roll!"

The traveler rolled his eyes, held the iron rod and closed his eyes, as if he was too lazy to pay attention to you.

Su Dawei was speechless. It would be better not to say half of what you said.

Ming Chongyan put his hands together and said to Master Xuanzang: "Master, Taoism says: man follows the earth, the heaven, the way, and the way follows nature. Therefore, Taoism is the way to get along with nature."

Xuanzang nodded slightly, showing a look of praise on his face.

Lu Huineng blushed, as if he wanted to say it, but he didn't know where to start. After holding it in for a while, he blushed, pointed at the ground, and pointed at his heart.

Are you a dumb fan?

Su Dawei was even more confused when he saw it.

But he saw Master Xuanzang showing surprise on his face and put his hands together and said, "Good, good, you have unique wisdom. If you enter our door, you will be able to promote Buddhism in the future."

Su Dawei looked at Xuanzang, then at Ming Chongyan and Lu Huineng. Finally, he looked up speechlessly and looked at the top of the tower. There was only one thought in his mind: Who am I, where am I, what am I going to do.

Can you speak back?

“Ami’s insight…”

Ming Chongyan shook his head, raised the corners of his mouth, and smiled.

Huineng put his hands together, his eyes drooped, and he didn't know what he was thinking.

Master Xuanzang gently tucked the rosary in his hand: "Walker."

"yes."

The walker sat upright, raised his waist and spine, placed the iron rod horizontally on his knees, and said to Su Dawei: "Although Ami, you have a little less understanding, but for the fate of getting to know Su Sanlang, I will give you some advice today."

"Ahem, you said."

Su Dawei covered his chest and felt his internal injuries.

Evil thief, you are not normal people, I can't compare with you.

He only listened to the practitioner: "All practice methods must understand who you are facing."

Who are you facing?

The practitioner said: "Who is the practitioner? Who am I? What am I practicing?

The two gates of Buddhism and Taoism give different answers.

Taoists learn from heaven and earth, which is a practice facing the heaven and earth universe. They think about how people get along with heaven and earth and how people view the world.

And Buddha..."

The practitioner pointed to his heart: "What the Buddha wants to cultivate is the heart.

The world and the universe are outside, the heart is inside, and people are in the middle. How do you view these two?

There are differences in the ways of practicing, but the different paths are one, and their essence is all 'I'."

After saying that, the traveler raised the iron rod and said, "Lock the mind and the mind horse, and attain the infinite Subhuti, duh!"

As the words fell, the iron rod hit, and a "clang" sounded, and sparks flew everywhere.

The sound of gold and iron clashing sounds as if they were wake up, which shocked Su Wei and jumped up from the ground.

His head was sweating profusely, and a confused heart seemed to be shattered.

After staying for a while, Su Dawei put his hands on the walker and said gratefully: "Thank you, Senior Brother Wukong for his guidance."

The walker just grinned, held the iron rod back, leaned against the wall, and returned to his drowsy appearance.

Ming Chongyan, who was standing beside him, hugged his arms with one hand and touched his chin with the other. It seemed that the words of the practitioner just now also inspired him a lot.

Lu Huineng, holding his face, looked confused, frowned and thought hard.

Master Xuanzang gently pulled the rosary and said to Su Dawei: "Ami, it is also a fate that we know each other. I will go to the new translation venue in a while. Since I have the fate today, I will give you this fate. I hope you can experience it with you."

"Thank you, Master!"

Su Dawei bowed deeply to Master Xuanzang and said, "Master, I have another thing I want to ask about Taizong's Golden Treasure Pillow."
