Chapter 7 Reunion

A whole team of armed soldiers emerged from the corner, each of them sweating profusely, full of anger and murderous aura. The soldiers looked around and immediately stopped at the strange foreigner in front of them. This foreigner was holding a tall horse, wearing a long sword, and a gray cloak that was shaded by the sun. Through the gaps in the cloak, you could see that the very common single clothes were worn below. This was just an ordinary foreigner, and there was nothing to doubt.

"You," the leading soldier pointed at Ash Rufate with his hand. "Have you seen a little monster?"

Ashu Rufate didn't say anything, but just used his hands to spread his hands, indicating that he couldn't understand what the other party was saying. The alley was surprisingly neat and nothing was moving. The soldiers immediately understood that their target was not to escape here, so they immediately chased him from another road. The clanging sound of metal gradually faded away. Now only Ashu Rufate was left in the alley.

Ashu Rufate lifted his cloak and said, "It's okay." He whispered. "Mimilu, they're leaving."

A creature emerged from under the cloak. The mysterious creature was not even as tall as Ash Rufate's waist, and looked very much like a human child. However, part of its body was covered with fur, and a pair of furry ears on its head, and a tail hung behind it. It looked half-human and half-cat.

This kind of creature is generally called "half beasts", but in fact, like humans, it is also a creature with higher intelligence. However, now this creature has disappeared in this world together with its civilization, and only remains in some of the most remote areas. Ashrufate once helped the half beasts fight against the greenskin in the Dandeng Mountains, so he knew this half beast called Mimilu.

In fact, the beasts gave him Mimilu as a female slave at that time. However, Ashu Rufate did not like this decision, so he left without saying goodbye. To be honest, Ashu Rufate never expected to meet Mimilu again in this place.

"Master!Master..." Mimilu cried while rubbing her face hard towards Ash Rufate's body, leaving traces after trace on his cloak and clothes. "I finally found you!"

"Are you looking for me?"

"Yes!" Mimilu looked at the other person with tears in her eyes, "I left with your smell, but lost your trace in the middle. I had to wander all the way and look for you everywhere..."

Mimilu's appearance is indeed different from what she remembers. She has become much thinner, and has many unhealed scars on her body, and even a few fresh blood marks on her arms. There is no doubt that she did not live a good life in the wandering days of the human world, and she has to face hostility and pursuit all day long. Although half of the beast has the talent for hiding and stealth, it is difficult to survive in a world full of hostility.

"Mimilu, I..." Ashu Rufat touched Mimilu's head, hoping to avoid hurting Mimilu's self-esteem as much as possible. After all, she has suffered so much. "... Actually, I don't need a female slave..." He raised appropriate words in his stomach. "...because... I don't need a scout."

Mimilu looked up at the other person and widened her eyes.

"...For some reason... I'm no longer a knight of St. Gene." Ashu Rufate continued. "And... I don't expect I will have another chance to command an army to fight. So, although you are excellent, your abilities don't make any sense to me."

"But the Great Elder and the others have given Mimilu to their master, so Mimilu belongs to the master."

"I will free you from your obligations. You will no longer be my female slave. Go back to the tribe." Ash Rufat said. Mimilu didn't move, but there seemed to be more tears in her eyes.

"Master, your approach is too conspicuous." In my mind, Carrie pointed out Ash Rufate's mistake without hesitation. "Your approach will not only not convince Mimilu, but will hurt her."

"What should I do?" Ashu Rufat asked in his mind. "Take Mimilu all day long? Wait for her to discover my secret? I'm a vampire? I'm discovering my horse is an undead?"

"The right thing to do is to take her for a short time and prove that her abilities are of no value to you. Then you can break up with her. It's a good thing for you, for her."

"...Okay, Mimilu," Ash Rufat sighed in his heart. Mimilu has very keen senses and observation, and she will soon discover the truth about the Nightmare Horse. Then... OK, let's consider it later. "If you think it's not appropriate to go back now, then spend some time with me first."

Mimilu happily continued to rub tears and other things on his clothes.

"But I now..." Ashu Rufat looked at himself and horses. There was no bag or something around him that could be hidden by Mimilu.

"It's okay, master, I can follow you, and I guarantee no one will notice it." As he said that, Mimilu immediately used her talent to hide, and her body quickly became homogenized with the surrounding environment - the only problem was the fresh blood marks on her arm. These blood marks on her arm seemed to be left by a claw-shaped weapon, and it was Mimilu's biggest flaw now. In the sun, just focus and look carefully, you can notice these conspicuous red lines and finally detect the existence of Mimilu.

But if it is at night, this flaw will no longer exist.

"Mimilu, don't do this." Ash Rufate took off his sun cloak and piled it on the horse's back in a seemingly casual manner, forming a space for Mimilu to hide. Mimilu could step on the stirrups on one side and hide under the cloak. "Hide it here."

"This is not a good idea, master." Carrie complained in her mind.

Mimilu jumped to the nightmare horse, and her hand grabbed the horse's back. Ash Rufat realized that she could realize the unusualness of the horse through the touch of her hand in a few minutes. But if Mimilu had followed him for a few days, she would definitely notice the undead nature of the horse.

He led his horse out of the alley, and the dazzling sunlight shone directly on him at this moment, making him feel burned. However, he could not tell for a moment whether this was because the sun was too poisonous or because of other reasons. However, this feeling was not particularly strong, so he ignored it for the time being.

The square was right in front of it. Due to the high temperature and heat, there was no one in the square at this moment. Only the statue mentioned by the female boss of the tailor shop had stood alone in the center of the square. You can see from a distance that the statue had not been erected for a long time because the color of the stone was still very new.

For a moment, Ashu Rufate couldn't find something suitable to describe this weird statue. It was not like anything known, the upper half was a cone and the lower half was a flat cube, and a similar analogy could not be found except that it could be seen at a glance that it was a non-natural product. And seeing this thing easily made people feel that this thing was more of a part of something larger than being an independent thing.

He walked around the statue, carefully looking at it around the front, back, left and right. The sculptor was of good quality and carved every detail. Ashu Rufate was able to identify the strange patterns on the surface of the creature, as well as several strange components, and other things.

"Is this thing a holy thing? What can it be used for?" Ashu Rufate asked Carrie in his mind, but it was rare that Carrie didn't answer.

"Carrie?" he continued to ask. Since the church believes that this thing is a holy object, then this weird thing is always useful, otherwise it would not take much effort to transport it here. Ashu Rufate felt that if this thing is useful, it should be a kind of vehicle, because half of the holy objects are flat, which makes people unconsciously feel that there can be many things on it.

However, judging from the previous description of the female boss of the tailor shop, this thing is obviously unable to move by its own strength, otherwise it would not take so much effort to transport it.

"Emergency, preset program unlock!" A sweet female voice suddenly sounded in Eshu Rufate's mind. Eshu Rufate was almost shocked, and when he came back to his senses, he remembered that this was the sound of "universal user interface" that Carrie said. However, Eshu Rufate did not understand what this title meant. He could only guess that this female voice called "universal user interface" was the same as Carrie, and was created by Qinxin with some kind of magic. Compared with Carrie, it seemed mechanical and lacked the ability to adapt, but seemed to have greater power than Carrie.

"Master." Carrie finally answered, her voice looking pitiful. "Report you a bad news."

“So bad news?”

"It is so. According to the preset situation of Lord Qinxin, you must shoulder the responsibility of destroying this so-called 'holy object', which is the order with the highest priority."

"Destroy? Priority?" Ashu Rufate was shocked.

"The order of Lord Qinxin."

"But she is dead...what would happen if I refuse this order?"

"Master, if you refuse, then there is a year to buffer... When the year comes, the artificial intelligence in your mind, that is, me, will detonate... that is, you will die. So I suggest you accept it."

"Why... Qin Xin didn't say..."

"This kind of thing is beyond expectations. Master Qinxin did this deliberately." Carrie replied aggrievedly. "I was just in case, but I really didn't expect them to find this thing."

"What is this holy object?" Ashu Rufate stared at the strange sculpture.

"This is an antimatter engine...I can't provide further explanation because you don't have the relevant authority. You understand so much that if Lord Qinxin is in your situation, she will sacrifice her life to destroy this thing."

"How to destroy this thing?" Ashu Rufate recalled the introduction of the previous female shopkeeper, imagining the true face of this "antimass engine" - this thing is all made of some kind of metal, without cracks or flaws...

"You just need to come to it and find the control unit, and I can overload it and destroy it." Carrie replied. "But to do this, I suggest you find a way to organize an army and conquer the city with force. When everything falls into your control, we can slowly solve the remaining problems."
