Chapter 25 Cruel War

Accompanied by the rumbling sound of war drums, thousands of orcs rushed out of the military camp and slowly pressed towards the front military city.

The black clouds were pressing against the city and were about to destroy it. The dense orcs, their hideous faces and rolling murderous aura made the soldiers on the city breathless.

Dong, the sound of the war drums sounded at the top of the city at the same time. The war drums in my ears made the soldiers on the top of the city excited, and the previous oppression was wiped out.

With the creaking sound, the bowstring of the siege crossbow was pulled over, the lever of the catapult cart was pulled down, and sharp stones were put on leather pockets.

The orcs got closer little by little, and just waited for the commander to give the command, countless crossbow arrows and huge rocks would smash into the orc army formation. Before approaching the city wall, they would pay the price of thousands of casualties.

But just as the orc army formation was about to enter the range of the siege crossbow and catapult cart, the orc troops suddenly stopped.

The front line of orcs was stumbled to the left and right, and countless human people were pushed out of the orc formation and forced by orcs to walk in front of the military formation with swords and guns.

After nearly a month of sweeping and looting, the orcs not only harvested a large amount of food and supplies, but also captured many ordinary people of the human race. Now they are being escorted to the battlefield as cannon fodder.

The human soldiers on the top of the city had blood red eyes, and the commander's already raised sword could not fall.

Although war is ruthless, the soldiers are all flesh and blood men. How could they hate them to hit crossbow arrows and huge rocks on the innocent people on their side?

The orcs escorted the human prisoners and kept approaching the city walls, and the hideous orcs' faces gradually became clear.

"Raising the crossbow arm, letting the orcs pass through the front row, letting it go!" The commander's sword finally fell down.

The big stones hit the orc troops like raindrops.

The two tribes have been fighting for many years, and the orcs have long been familiar with the human race. They immediately raised a lot of shields in the orcs.

The stones hit the shield and made a banging sound. Many huge stones could even overturn the shield, killing and injuring the orcs below.

The long crossbow arrow shot through the shield with a whistling sound, and one arrow penetrated two or three orcs into candied haws.

The attack of the Wind and Snow Legion deliberately allowed the people in the front row and the orcs nearby. Although it caused a small amount of damage to the orc army, it could not prevent the orc army from quickly approaching the city wall.

Above the city tower, a middle-aged general held the long sword below his waist and frowned as he looked at the orc army formation getting closer and closer.

"Send an order to open the city gate and let the people enter the city!"

"Captain, think twice! Once the city gate opens, orcs will swarm in!" The three men behind the general hurriedly dissuaded.

"Will there still be a urn city after the city gate be opened? We are fighting with orcs in the urn city. We are always stronger than watching these people die under the city wall. Can we save one!" The middle-aged general sighed deeply.

A creaking sound came one after another, and three thick gates of the Former Military City slowly rose up.

What slowly rose was not only a city gate, but also the hope of rekindled by thousands of human people. The people who were forced to leave were all running and ran towards the rising city gate.

The orc army's charge speed was accelerated at the same time, and they were waiting for this opportunity.

"Arrower comes forward!" With the command, the dense human archers appeared from behind the battlements.

"Sixty-five degrees straight ahead, eject!"

With a command, thousands of arrows were fired at once, and the arrows fell like rain. The arrows fell at the junction of the orc army formation and the human people leaned back a little further. Many orcs following the people fell to the ground one after another.

The strategic intention of the human archers is very clear, which is to use dense rain of arrows to draw a death belt behind the human people, creating opportunities for the people to run into the city smoothly.

The orcs were also prepared for this and quickly rushed out of the military formation a group of wild boars holding shields. These guys were rough and thick-skinned. As long as they were not shot at the deadly place, they would not be able to kill them even if they were caught by seven or eight arrows. With the shield cover, they rushed forward and caught up with the human people again.

"Precise shooting, attacking orcs' lower limbs."

The human archers immediately changed the shooting to point shooting, and specifically aimed at the thighs of the orcs catching up. The protection here was also the weakest, not for killing, but for the purpose of slugging the orcs' pursuit speed.

In the battles between the warriors of the human and beast tribes, the fastest-running human people had already run to the city gate. As long as they rushed through that gate, they could regain their lives and freedom.

People pushed and shouted into the city gate.

The orcs' military formation changed again, and a team of cavalry rushed out of the orcs, and almost blinked through the death belt set up by the human archers, and rushed into the human people's team.

Leopard Cavalry!

The orc actually secretly hid a team of leopard cavalry in the military formation. The leopard cavalry is small in size, far less tall and fierce than the most common wolf cavalry among orcs, and has a huge number. However, the rare number of leopard cavalry is a terrifying force among orcs. It is not only very fast, but also has extremely strong combat power. A leopard cavalry can fight two or three wolf cavalry one-on-one.

Due to the impact of the leopard cavalry, the human race became even more chaotic, pushing each other toward the city gate, and even many wild boar people who rushed through the archers blockade rushed into the human race.

In the end, more orcs and humans mixed together and rushed into the city gate.

Looking at the chaotic scene under the city, several generals suggested eagerly: "Captain, please close the city gate. If you are late, all the orcs will rush in!"

"Close the city gate." The middle-aged commander ordered with his eyes closed.

The gate fell with a bang, and a small half of the people who had not had time to enter the city and the orcs who rushed up were separated from the city gate.

One step away, life and death are separated, people cry and smash the city gate with force.

Taking advantage of this wave of offensive, the orc army had already rushed under the city wall.

The snake-man archers gushing out of the military formation began to shoot at each other with the human archers on the city wall. The whizzing arrow branches were flying all over the sky, including the orcs who kept falling to the ground and the human soldiers who fell from the city from time to time.

The orcs had already put the ladder and flying claws on the city wall, and swarmed and climbed the city wall to start siege.

The human soldiers on the city wall smashed the wooden rocks that had been prepared and poured hot oil down.

A tragic offensive and defensive battle began.

Within the city gate, hundreds of orc cavalry and humans stormed into the city.

After rushing into the city wall, the orcs rushed straight to the city stairs on both sides. As long as they rushed up the city wall, causing a small chaos in the city wall, the orc troops outside the city could take advantage of this opportunity to send subsequent orc warriors up continuously.

The human army had long been on guard against this. When the orcs rushed into the city gate, the human spearmen had already begun to rush down the city wall, and the two sides collided head-on on the city stairs.

Just like the battle outside the city, it was another tragic battle of life and death.

When the last orc in the city fell, the stairs were filled with corpses, and the corpses of orcs and human soldiers were mixed together.

Because there was no movement in the city, the orc troops that could not be captured outside the city for a long time slowly retreated.

In this chaos, only a few hundred people survived, and the Wind and Snow Legion paid the price of nearly a thousand soldiers.
