Chapter 5 The Horn Tavern

——————————————

When Leo came out of the Creator Guild, his chest was already wearing a formal alchemist badge with a silver pentagram as the base, surrounding the green scale. The guards guarding at the entrance of the sword group's spire saw this inconspicuous badge and saluted him one by one. This was completely different from the attitude he had treated him before. Leo sighed with emotion, stroked the protruding patterns of the badge, and wanted to be recognized by others, but he had only strength.

At this time, the sky was dark, and the streets outside the Creator Guild were brightly lit. Every shop on the left and right side of the street was still open, greeting a steady stream of guests. The bard played the lute next to the fountain in the Cross Street Square, and the melodious tune seemed to be able to remove the fatigue of the day. Here is like the kingdom of gods, which will never fall into darkness day and night.

Li Ou walked through the crowd, left the bustling main road, and walked into the alley on the street. The windproof lantern was hanging at the door of the house, and the fire illuminated the iron door sign of the bubble-burning wine glass. He pushed the door and walked in.

A rumbling noise mixed with the aroma of wine instantly flooded him. He sat down next to the bar with a familiarity.

"Ah, Leo." Charles, who was wiping the wine glass, raised his head and greeted him, while putting a sweet cherry spirit in front of him. "You and Olyph have not been here for a while."

Li Ou picked up the wine glass and drank it, "I've been busy with trials recently." He said, "I have to read through the books."

"That's right. There are only a few places every two years." Charles nodded in agreement, "Even the advanced examinations of the Mage Federation are not so strict."

Li Ou smiled, "That's them, it has nothing to do with us."

"I heard from you too. I have never received a mage here." Charles had long heard of the dispute between the alchemist and the mage, and soon changed the subject. "It seems that the trial is today, right?" He suddenly remembered, "Has it passed?"

Leo pointed to his chest, "What do you think?"

Charles' eyes stopped on Leo's chest, "Pentament! Congratulations, congratulations."

Leo remembered the danger in the ruins, and Jian Feng, who was stinging his cheeks, still felt a little palpitations. "This time I was lucky enough." He smiled bitterly.

"No matter what the process is, you have succeeded." Charles patted his shoulder. "Most people only value the results, and I am no exception."

"Charles, you are still so honest." Leo smiled bitterly, "Listen to your words will make me feel that my efforts are meaningless. Is this fatalism?"

"For an ordinary person like me," Charles, who was over 50 years old, touched his bald head and said helplessly and self-deprecatingly, "This is the most comforting explanation, isn't it?"

Leo wanted to say something, but the greeting of the drinkers stopped their conversation.

"You go and do it. I'll sit here, Olyph will come in a while."

Charles nodded, left the bar, and walked towards the drinker who was slapped at the table and shouting loudly.

Li Ou held a wine glass and looked around. The musician played music in the corner of the hall. The beautiful girl twisted her waist on the stage with the music, revealing the spring light half-covered, which caused the men around her to whistle. However, more people kept their small circles and talked to each other. Most of them were some merchants with the same sad faces on their faces. Li Ou also knew about this: the weather on the sea has been too weird recently, with strong winds and heavy rainstorms for half a month. I guess the goods of these merchants have been in the warehouse for a long time, and the losses have been considerable.

But he did not hear any useful information. These merchants were already in a state of despair. Apart from buying drunk and waking up their sorrows, they could only pray for the illusory gods.

"Hey! Boss!" The sudden loud shouting diverted Leo's attention. He looked at a corner of the hall. A girl in a weird brown robe was slapping the table with her palms. She had long red hair that was hanging down to her waist, like flames, flying as she moved. Her cheeks were red, and her amber eyes were drunk. She raised her glass and shouted to Charles: "Another Asmos wine!"

"Asmos is full of energy," Charles persuaded, "Miss, you will be drunk again."

"What is drunk?" the girl snorted, "Don't your tavern sell wine?"

Charles smiled bitterly.

"I'm afraid I can't afford it?"

Before Charles could answer, Leo saw the girl take out coins from her arms. The bright yellow light of the gold coins was mixed with a silver light. Leo thought she would stuff all the coins into Charles's hands. But what he didn't expect was that the girl picked out the gold coins in pain, carefully wiped them carefully, put them away again, and handed them to Charles.

"Little, Miss..." Charles held the dozens of silver coins in his hand, neither collecting nor releasing. He looked at the girl and opened his mouth in embarrassment. In the end, the businessman's character prevailed, and he chose to tell the truth, "This... this is not enough."

"It's not enough, so let's owe it first!" the girl said with confidence.

Charles looked weird, "Don't you have Oren gold coins?"

"No, absolutely not." The girl put away her smile and looked at Charles with a cautious look. "Gold coins are absolutely not possible! Don't even think of taking a child from me!"

"But that's not enough."

"Then I'll give it to you after I've saved enough silver coins."

The girl's words made Charles unable to refute, and Leo was also amused and crying.

"Lee Ou, what are you looking at?" Oref had come to him at some point and sat down. He waved and asked the waitress for a glass of low-degree honey wine.

"Nothing." Li Ou shook his head, raised his glass and touched Orefo.

"I heard from my father that Andrewson almost died." Orefer said softly. His voice was almost drowned in the noisy atmosphere of the tavern. Leo asked again before he knew what he was talking about.

"That's a good opportunity." Li Ou shrugged, "If it weren't for the uncle suddenly appearing."

"I know the grudge between you and the Andrewson family. He and his father are both greedy bastards." Olifer couldn't help frowning, and his eyes showed disgust. He remembered some shameful despicable means that Andrewson's father used in the rumor: deception, intimidation and threats.

"No one knows what they do better than me." Leo put down his wine glass, "He is my neighbor."

"You did it too obvious." Olyph pressed his forehead, "Fortunately, my father was the one who presided over the trial this year. If it were someone else, he might be punished."

"Punishment?" Li Ou curled his lips, "It's nothing more than canceling the commercial license. Have you forgotten that we all signed a life-and-death contract before the trial."

"Don't you regret it? You have always wanted your son to inherit his father's business."

“Getting a commercial license is more than one way. Passing a trial is just the easiest one.”

"I know this." Oref sighed, "but no matter what, you and their family are already disgraced, as if they were in trouble. There is no room for recovery. You have to be careful. Andrewson's father can do anything."

"Orefer, I'm like an unforgivable bastard after hearing your words." Leo looked at the other party and said word by word, "I am an alchemist, not a necromancer who deals with corpses. What I play with is a balance and a beaker in my hands. Even if I dissect the corpse, it is a humanoid creature. Moreover, my grudge with Andrewson will not be resolved with a sword."

"What's that for? Because of that Dharma Seal?"

Leo did not answer positively. "I made a counterattack." He explained the facts, "It was his first killer."

"I believe you," said Olyph, "but others don't think so. They will take it as your side."

The weirdness in Li Ou's heart became more and more intense. He always felt that there was something in Aurefo's words today. He wanted to say something but didn't speak directly, and kept going around meaninglessly. This was not like him. Li Ou hesitated for a while and asked out the confusion in his heart:

"Orefer, are you going to tell me this today? Arguing with each other over what hasn't happened?"

"I'm just a little worried. Andrewson's father is already a level nine alchemist..."

Leo interrupted him without hesitation. "This is not your truth." He said, "I think you are more like a lobbyist."

Oref remained silent. He lowered his head and drank the sweet honey wine gulp after gulp. Until the wine glass came to the bottom, he slowly said, "I am not a lobbyist. I do not represent anyone."

Leomo kept silent.

Oref sighed, "Lee, I want to help you, but I don't know how to speak."

Leo thought hard, but could not guess Orefo’s thoughts. What was his so-called help? Leo had no idea. "I am not you, how can you know what you are thinking?" he said.

"I'm thinking, maybe this is not a good time."

“Business License?”

"What else can it be?" Oref smiled bitterly, "Silver Maple Leaf Street will no longer be expanded. If Andrewson wants to expand his store, he can only continue to acquire the next store. You said, what would he do if you re-install your sign?"

"Suppression and bribery. Revenge." Leo did not think. Their peeping was no longer a secret, and everyone who had contact with them knew it clearly. But neither Venanglake nor Orefo could do anything, because competition was encouraged by Einbrou. Leo understood Orefo's concerns. "I understand what you think. I was not blinded by success."

"You can't open the store until then."

"Yes." Li Ou sighed, looking at the dark red wine in the cup. He thought that he would probably not be able to drink these for a while.

"So, I want..." Orefo suddenly hesitated.

"Tell me. This is not like you."

Oref took a deep breath, and then poured out all the words in one breath. "Due to me all the potions and magical items you have made during this period...I mean, put them in my store and consign them."

Li Ou was surprised. He didn't know what to say for a moment.

"The reason I didn't mention it before is because you have not been promoted to level 5. Guild regulations..."

"I know." A relaxed smile appeared on Leo's face, "I have to thank you, Olyph. You have been helping me all the time."

"This is what we should do. No matter what, we are all best friends." Olief thought Leo would refuse, "but this time my request seems to be too harsh."

Leo raised his eyebrows, "This is a good thing, I didn't say I disagree." He looked at the surprised Orefo and smiled, "I'm not as old-fashioned as a knight. I know at least. I can't even thank you, you solved a big problem for me."

Oref let out a long sigh, "It's good that you can think of it."
