Section 2 Diary 2

Diary 2

Twenty-nine days

I finally arrived in Sivania.

It must be admitted that when I saw those human soldiers on duty, my first reaction was not to be afraid of anxiety, but to breathe a sigh of relief. Although I already knew something about Sivania, the gods were there, and I was really afraid of hitting a group of zombies or skeletons and other things. Although the church and those merchants all believed that the so-called undead creatures were essentially just puppets manipulated by black magic, and were no different from a marionette. But if I saw a staggering dead man walking towards me, I thought I would immediately escape in fear and nothing could allow me to continue this journey.

The soldiers conducted routine inspections of the caravan I was in - no different from the other inspections I encountered along the way. Although I didn't talk to them, I still looked at the soldiers carefully. Both their armed forces and their attitude towards inspection were very ordinary (that is, it was normal), and I could not tell how different they were from the soldiers on duty of other lords. Their expression was just a very ordinary look, and there was no emotion.

However, the team leader greeted the soldiers on duty and made a few harmless jokes. His approach was not obviously rejected, and the soldiers talked to him. However, when the team leader asked about anything that should be paid special attention to when entering Sivania, the soldiers clearly stated that there was no thing that should be paid special attention to when entering here, because this place was different from other places.

But they gave the leader a warning. In Sivania, if you want to play any tricks like commercial fraud, you will be seeking death by yourself. Because "Duke" (no doubt, this word is their name for vampires) has the power to understand people's hearts. Because of this power, don't expect to make ill-gotten gains through bribery or other means. The officials here are very afraid of the Duke, so everything will be handled impartially and will never be bought. If it is really a situation where both parties have different opinions, it will be even worse, because in this way, things will definitely come to the Duke, and the trick will die. Because the Duke will personally interrogate any disputes, and then the lying or unreasonable one will be killed on the spot, without exception.

The team leader also asked about the tax situation in Sivania, but the soldiers seemed to be unclear about it, so they just said a few words in a vague way, "It's similar to other places."

Thirty Days of Cloudy

I met my dear cousin Donnie.

I found Donnie's current residence based on the address on the letter. It was not difficult to do this because the city was well built. Although she had no walls and no name (Syvanians call it "New City"), both the streets and everything else were clean and tidy, with complete door signs, and a small map of the city was set up at every intersection. This was really something I had never seen before. Even a foreigner could easily find his own place in the city and know where he should go. All this only requires him to read.

Donnie lives in the middle of a street in New Town. When I finally found him, he hugged me enthusiastically - in fact, his enthusiasm made me almost breathless. No need, just from his dress, you can tell that he is living a good life, having a superior life, and being healthy. What my friends had guessed before (that is, everyone thinks that Donnie was coerced or tricked to write that letter) was completely wrong. I think this should be a prejudice against vampires. Because in this city, I really can't see the legendary "numb, ignorant, and miserable" people. On the contrary, I see a vibrant city.

I entered Donny's house and talked with him for a whole day. But I must say that most of the time it was him talking, and I could only ask myself questions in a short time when he drank water or rested.

Donnie told me that he had established a small chamber of commerce and obtained the business license of the Snow Duke to engage in the import and export of goods in the Sivania region. Although the chamber of commerce is still small and inconspicuous, it must have a bright future and unlimited potential. At least the development in Sivania is definitely not a problem, because the Snow Duke himself owns a certain share in the small chamber of commerce.

In order to prove his words, he took out a relevant document on the spot, a document proving that the Blood Duke's investment in this chamber of commerce (the vampire really took out gold coins) and possessed shares.

I was immediately dumbfounded. Although I had known that vampires' way of thinking was completely different from ordinary humans, I really didn't expect that the difference was so different. Obviously, the entire Sivania was its territory, and he still wanted to occupy a part of the shares in a chamber of commerce? I can't understand this at all, so I can only classify it as a vampire knows nothing about business, or it was driven by some nature. Of course, the biggest possibility is a whim.

Finally, I mentioned the letter he gave me. At the same time, I told him my plight without any concealment.

When talking about this, Donnie was furious. He told me that it is extremely profitable to build a shipyard now. Because the port is becoming increasingly busy, and the shipyards that are responsible for providing supporting ship repairs, the shipyards built have not been built for a long time. The construction of ships is a job that requires professional technology and long-term experience accumulation, and it is not something that can be done by just finding someone (I certainly agree with Donnie's judgment).

He told me clearly that when the vampire mentioned this to him, he thought of me the first thing he had done. So he immediately agreed to the matter and wrote me the letter immediately. It must be noted that if the letter did not impress me, he would soon send a capable subordinate to come to me and persuade me to go to Sivania.

Today's lunch was a treat from Donnie. He held a banquet at a nearby restaurant, and the level of heartiness was exactly in line with his enthusiasm for me. I heard before that the Sivania region was poor and the shortage of supplies was undoubtedly a rumor, at least in this restaurant, the situation was not the case at all. Donnie and I continued to talk about Sivania while sharing this delicious meal that was rare for me.

From the conversation, I began to understand the situation here. In my initial impression, Sivania should be a relatively remote, sparsely populated, backward, and inconvenient place for life. Later, it was occupied by vampires and turned into an extremely dark and terrifying land. The black magician and their vampire owners were rampant here, and the entrances and exits of each village were guarded by undead creatures to prevent people from escaping. Every day, innocent civilians died tragically under the hands of vampires.

But I saw in front of me that everything I heard from Donnie's mouth was exactly the opposite. The roads in this place were flat, the land was rich and the supplies were abundant. The so-called undead creatures could not even see the shadow. All the people responsible for management and public security were human soldiers. According to Donnie's secret statement, the vampire's undead legion should be hidden in the mysterious Black Magic Academy, and that place was completely confidential for ordinary people. Of course, even if it was not kept secret, I was sure that I would not have to go in and take a look.

Donnie also told me that vampires have a lot of unheard of technology and knowledge and are willing to teach them to those who serve him. He said that if vampires like me, I will definitely learn some new technology.

I express cautious doubts about this.

One day

Donnie arranged for me to meet the Bloody Duke today.

This may be my most nervous day, because I never thought of meeting a vampire face to face. Before I came to Sivania, I thought at most that I would see a zombie, a skeleton or something like that, but I really didn't expect to meet that vampire. You know, it was a terrible monster that feeds on human blood.

But Donnie said that vampires are actually no different from ordinary people. People who have never met will be afraid of imagination, and after meeting them, they will find that it is no big deal. He assured me that vampires are actually more approachable than human lords and will never hurt anyone easily. As long as you don’t come to find fault with vampires on purpose, it will definitely be fine. In any case, Donnie convinced me. What is the solution? If you want to build a shipyard, you must get the permission of the vampire, at least tell him.

The vampire lives in the Dark Castle - on a hillside not far from the New Town. The castle is the weirdest building I have ever seen, and it is more of a tower than a castle. People in the city can definitely see it as if they look in that direction because it is too high. Donnie has been there, and he said it is very strange. It looks like a tower outside, but it is an ordinary castle inside. This should be because of some kind of magic.

On the way (Donnie and I went around the port before we went to the castle), I witnessed a theft case. A thief fled flexibly on the street, while the thief chased after him in vain. As we all know, thieves have almost no chance of such things. Unless the thief was stunned and ran into a dead end, how could an ordinary man compete with these flexible thieves? As for soldiers, there is no need to expect, because the weight of the armor makes them not suitable for running fast at all.

Donnie said in a mocking tone beside me, "That must be a thief from another place!" While I was confused by his words, an amazing scene appeared. A girl in red armor suddenly appeared (the gods are above, I really don't know how she came out), and ran on the roof on one side of the road at a speed and agility that humans could not achieve. When she was almost parallel to the thief, she jumped to the ground and easily captured the thief. As we approached, I noticed that the soldiers who maintained the order had arrived and tied the thief up, and the owner who was chasing all the way backed his wallet.

I must emphasize the girl... She looks young and beautiful, I probably won't be over fifteen years old. She is not tall, but she just showed unimaginable power and agility. As the poem says, as light as a bird, as fast as a leopard. When I stared at her, Donnie hinted that I would leave quickly. After walking away, he told me that this girl is the Duke's guard, and there are hundreds of such girls. All the girls are personally given powerful supernatural powers by the Duke, and they are always controlled by him. The passage of time on these girls is borne by vampires. So as long as the vampires are not dead, they will never age. In fact, vampires can give anyone this type of eternal life, as long as they can get his favor. Donnie joked that maybe I will have this opportunity in the future.
