Chapter Thirteen Attack

Section 13 Attack

The attack came at about the same time as Asovin expected.

As mentioned earlier, both sides already knew that the other party existed, especially Asowen, who had already raised their vigilance and worked hard to prepare for war. In this case, sneak attacks were extremely difficult to succeed. Therefore, the terror-torn war gang had no intention of sneak attacks at all. In fact, they came over openly and were not even moving forward very quickly.

Ashu Rufate stood on the arrow tower and watched the enemy's troops approach.

A whole team of heavy infantry soldiers, with clear-cut stands and strict formations, came over with a unified pace. This kind of scene can give people with poor combat experience a considerable amount of mental pressure, but in Ashu Rufate's view, this is really ridiculous.

Because in the military tactics he came into contact with, or in the military books written by southerners, the meaning of surprise attacks was emphasized. The so-called attack on unprepared enemies can be counteracted by countless disadvantages. Regardless of military strength, training or equipment, it is not a problem.

If Ashu Rufate was the terror champion, then he would probably discover and confirm the other party's existence and launch an attack as soon as possible. This is common sense or the most basic military literacy for the officers of the seven central countries. But it is obvious that the terror champion wasted a lot of time. He allowed his soldiers to eat and drink enough and recover their physical strength, but he did not know that this precious few days would increase the difficulty of the battle to a whole new level.

From this point of view, although the Chaos Legion generals who invaded Groney were quite difficult to deal with (both Lord Blood Tooth or Marvin), in fact, there are not many Chaos officers with such qualities. Chaos uses the survival of the fittest to select the best people as Chaos Lords, and these Chaos lords are no less inferior to the generals of the Seven Kingdoms. However, at the middle and lower level, officers trained by the Military Academy (or honed from the mercenary team) are much better than Chaos.

But anyway, this at least gives Ashu Rufate, or, Ahsovin, a chance.

The enemy began to approach and entered the attack range of war machinery. But at this moment, neither side had any war machinery, no crossbows, cannons, or catapults. The only war machinery that the terrorist war gang could see was a siege car. In fact, it was not a siege car, it was just a little modified with a large car and pressed a giant tree. But it was obvious that this weapon was enough for the simple wooden walls of the camp.

The terrorist war gang stopped outside the range of the bow and arrow and formed an attack formation. Perhaps the terrorist champion lacked military literacy, but he was very experienced. About half of the troops were with the siege cars, and the other troops began to divide into three teams and detoured towards the other parts of the camp, which seemed to be a gap to find breakthroughs.

Almost all the heavy infantrymen in Chaos armor gathered beside the siege cars, while most of the separated teams were plunderers wearing other messy armors.

Although it cannot be seen with the naked eye, Ashu Rufate also guessed that all these roundabout troops had hooks for climbing.

He looked back at the others. With him in the Arrow Tower there were warriors from the other two tribes, or archers. Everyone held bows and arrows in their hands. Yes, their bows and arrows were hunting bows with short range and lack of power. They were still just enough to deal with wild beasts' fur, and it was a bit difficult to deal with metal armor. However, not every enemy was wearing chaos armor, and hunting bows were also useful in this battle.

Asovin was the first to launch an attack.

As a wizard, his magical attack range is the widest in this battle. Accompanied by the chanting of magic and the fluctuations of magic wind, Slaanes accepted the prayers of believers. A wriggling wave of light hit the enemy's most dense position like a whip. This magic is penetrating, and passing through the crowd does not affect the power. In an instant, dozens of heavy infantry soldiers were attacked. They let out terrible howls and fell one by one.

It is a bit regrettable that although this magic has a wide range of killing, its attack power is not very strong. Because of the dozens of fallen enemies, about half of them stood up again. It is obvious that although they were damaged by magic, they did not lose their combat power.

If it is a large-scale battlefield, then this magic can kill hundreds of people, and at least dozens of them will die.

Asovin temporarily fell into a state of inevitable loss of mind after casting spells, and he would not be able to use the second magic in a short period of time.

Then, the attack began.

The frontal battle is not good. As mentioned earlier, bows and arrows are not very lethal to Chaos Armor, so we simply use a stone caster here. Although this weapon has a poor range and hit rate, in fact, if the hit rate is not paid attention to, it will deal with Chaos Armor much more powerful than bows and arrows. Especially when it is hit by a stone in the head. Chaos Armor may be able to withstand the stone, but it cannot withstand the impact.

In order to clear the troublesome caltrops around, the terrorist warriors advanced very slowly, and they did not prepare long-range weapons, so they could only be beaten for a while. But from another perspective, the catapult is a weapon with poor range and hit rate after all, so although a Chaos warrior fell from time to time, their team still did not waver at all, but continued to approach like this.

"Preparation!" Asovin recovered and issued the order for the next battle in time.

Then, the most agile and best-sported warrior in a tribe climbed outside the wooden wall along a rope. He carried three small clay pots on his body. The warrior rushed forward along the gap of the prepared caltrops, stopped twenty steps away from the enemy's team, and threw the clay pot in his hand towards the siege car.

After the clay pot cracked, a large amount of animal fat splashed everywhere...

The attackers had no idea that they would be attacked like this. Because they were affected by the caltrops, they could not even run ahead to stop the sudden attack.

"Rocket!" The wizard who was commanding the battle at the gate gave another order.

What happened naturally happened. The agile soldier ran back in time and climbed up the gate. Several irresistible rockets ignited the grease. In an instant, a raging flame surrounded the siege car.

Now, the terrorist fighters must take a fire-fighting operation. Because the fire is too big, they have to spend some time extinguishing the fire with sand. During this period, they continued to be attacked by the catapult and about a dozen people fell down.

Other battles are also happening around the wooden walls of the camp. The battles here are much more cruel. Because most of the attackers are plunderers, they do not have Chaos Armor protection, so that bows and arrows can pose an effective threat to them.

Fortunately, the defense of the camp was simple after all. The wooden wall was not strong enough when it was initially established, so the top cannot be assumed to be out of place. The number of arrow towers that can accommodate archers is limited, and there can only be three people standing in each arrow tower. Otherwise, this attack would be a death sentence.

The arrows shot down from the arrow tower, and the hit rate was far greater than those thieves. In just a short time, more than a dozen attackers fell on the offensive path, and they didn't even have the chance to connect to the near-trenches.

Ashrufate fired three arrows in a row at the Arrow Tower, basically one arrow. He noticed that the terrorist war gang made the second mistake - they did not leave a reserve team, but pressed the entire line.

A team of cavalry suddenly appeared from behind and rushed towards the back line of the terror war gang. The sound of horse hooves caused a certain panic at first, but they quickly calmed down because there were too few cavalry attacking from behind.

It is indeed very rare, because there are only four cavalrymen. Even heavy cavalrymen cannot pose a threat when there is such a reward for the number of rewards.

A small team of terror soldiers turned around to deal with the shabby attack. However, the enemy did not engage in the battle, but immediately fired at them with a crossbow.

These crossbows are military weapons, war weapons seized by Chaos Warriors and Southerners in the battle, and their power is not comparable to those hunting bows. And as we all know, crossbows are an extremely easy-to-use and highly accurate weapon.

Three crossbow arrows shot on the Chaos Warrior in the front. All penetrated the Chaos Armor, two of them shot into the chest, and the last one shot through the neck - shot from the front, through the collar, and the arrow came out from the back of the neck.

The Chaos Warrior let out a horrifying scream, and the weapon in his hand landed on the ground. He struggled to pull the crossbow arrow out of his neck, but the blood had already spurted out from the wound like a spring. He shook and refused to fall, but everyone knew that he was dead.

Other terrorist fighters bypassed their dying companions and continued to rush towards their enemies.

But these cavalry had no intention of fighting, so they turned around and ran away, setting aside. However, in just a short while, they rushed back, holding the re-winding crossbow in their hands.

Among the four cavalrymen, one of them was a plunderer, and the other three were not even plunderers. However, they attracted more than twenty Chaos warriors, greatly reducing the pressure on the front line.

Asovin has prepared the next magic.

In an instant, supernatural illusions enveloped a group of Chaos warriors. About thirty Chaos warriors were bewildered by this magic and began to fall into illusion. Reality and illusion switched to each other in their five senses, causing them to be insane. Their physical body was not damaged, but they were mentally under continuous attacks.

This is also Asovin's second magic. As everyone knows, each magic will deprive the caster of part of his energy. Asovin now looks pale and his hands and feet are slightly trembling. Today he is lucky, and every magic is very successful and perfect, but he must retain the energy of the last magic as the trump card of this battle.

On the other side, the terrorist soldiers had already rushed through the defense line of the bow and arrow. Although they were killed by the bow and arrow when they passed through the obstacles in front and suffered great losses, in the end, the trench could not stop them from moving forward. They had approached the bottom of the wooden wall and began to throw hook ropes upwards.

The originally uneven top of the wooden wall is easily hooked. But this time, things seem to be a little different.

Some thin wood pieces were inserted into the top of the wooden wall. The only thing hooked by the hook rope was these unstable wood pieces, which could not be hooked at all. Several impatient attackers even fell backwards - falling into the trench and pierced by pointed wooden stakes.

The shortcomings of the terrorist fighter without ranged weapons are fully revealed. Ashu Rufate can boldly poke out his upper body and shoot at the enemy below, but these attackers can do nothing about it.

This attack was repelled. As mentioned earlier, even the Chaos Warriors driven by the belief of the evil gods would collapse when there was no hope in the battle. At least those non-senior soldiers would do so. The three-sided siege teams faced this unilateral slaughter and their morale was extremely low. After nearly half of their companions were shot, they began to retreat uncontrollably. The front of the gate was facing magic, flying stones and incomplete siege cars. Even the terror champion lost the confidence to break the enemy's gate in one fell swoop.
