Chapter 18 Differences

When Xu Mo arrived at the place where several gladiator leaders were located, Kabar was arguing with Ragsius. The two of them refused to give in to each other and blushed, while Omes and Chis Onis remained silent and lowered their heads to ponder. It seemed that after the excitement at the beginning of the uprising, everyone finally began to discuss the future of the team, and they had already developed different opinions.

Seeing Xu Mo's arrival, Kabar and Ragsius stopped arguing and remained silent. Chis Onis approached Xu Mo and told him the content of the discussion. It turned out that Kabar and Ragsius had a disagreement in the direction of the rebel army's advance.

Kabar proposed that the rebels go south, cross the sea through the Messina Strait on the Brution Peninsula and then expand the scale of the uprising in Sicily, and even learn from the Sicilian slave uprising decades ago to establish their own country.

Ragsius proposed that the rebels go north and meet with the Spartacus rebels on Mount Veswi to fight against the Roman rulers together.

As for Omes and Chis Onis, they had no objection on the route, whether they went south or north, but their purposes were different. If they went south, they would cross the sea to Greece and return to Sparta, and head north through the foot of the eastern foothills of the Alps, entering the province of Dalmatia in Rome (Slovenia and southern Croatia), and then return to Sparta through Epirus (Algeria and northern Greece).

Xu Mo sighed. If the splitting of the rebel army was the first drawback of losing Artemis, then the second drawback is now beginning to appear, that is, the rebel army has no decisive voice to determine the future.

The components of the rebel army were too complicated. Not only were there many races, but the process of becoming slaves was also different. Kabar, Ragsius and others were sold into slaves in childhood and almost grew up in the Gladiator School. Similar people accounted for about half of the rebel army.

Because these gladiators have received gladiator training since childhood, they are skilled in personal combat skills, but their knowledge about other aspects of society is basically blank. They can be said to be big boys who are physiologically mature but psychologically immature.

Another part of the rebel army was sold to the Gladiator School after they were adults. These people included farmers, handicraftsmen, bankrupt merchants, etc. The combat strength of these people was far inferior to the previous part of the gladiator, but they had certain survival skills and social common sense. However, because the status of gladiator schools in the Gladiator School was supported by force, their status in the rebel army was not high.

A small part of the rebel army was the Spartan regiment. When the Spartans who became prisoners of war were basically young people who had just entered the army when they were captured. When these young soldiers were captured, they were not psychologically mature enough to fight to the end. Adult soldiers like Artemis were rarely captured alive unless they were seriously injured and could not fight again.

Because the Spartans despise cultural education, except for the nobles, ordinary teenagers only require that they can write orders and notes, so the Spartan regiment actually has no soldiers with leadership skills except for the dead Artemis.

Before becoming a slave, Kabar was originally just a ten-year-old Carthage boy who settled in Sicily. The best time in his memory was in Sicily's childhood. After gaining freedom, his first idea was of course to recreate the most beautiful memories in his memory.

Ragsius was a Thracian. After Thracian became a province in Rome, he was actually homeless. Following Spartacus, a hero of the rebel army, was his only choice.

Although Omes and Chis Onis were already worried about the current situation of the rebel army, they had no good solutions. After a few people discussed for a long time, they finally remembered that there was another Spartan leader who was not valued - Arris.

Xu Mo looked at the big boys with a gloomy face. In his heart, if possible, he would rather leave these people behind. He has not been so despised in any world. Just look at the content of the big boys discussing that they have been discussing for a long time, but because they cannot draw the final conclusion, they remembered that there is also a Spartan leader like him.

Omes and Chis Onis turned their faces a little embarrassedly and suggested that Xu Mo be the leader. However, because when he was in the manor, Xu Mo proposed to leave other gladiators, which made the two of them feel dissatisfied. When everyone was discussing, the two of them selectively forgotten Xu Mo almost at the same time.

"Didn't Artemis help you make arrangements for the uprising before his death?" Xu Mo suppressed his anger and asked coldly.

"What Artemis ordered was all preparations for the uprising to escape from the manor. He did not say much about what happened later." Omes thought for a moment and said.

"I heard Artemis say once. After the uprising was successful, he wanted us to break it into pieces. Dozens of people fled to Greece in a team, but I don't know the specific plan!" A flash of inspiration in Chisonis's mind and then said.

Xu Mo nodded. Half of Artemis' plan was feasible, because about half of the people in the rebel army had social knowledge and survival skills, and were quite powerful. If dozens of people were in a team, just be careful and do not leave obvious traces of rebellion along the way, they did have a great chance to escape to Greece.

However, half of this plan is not feasible, because Gladiator slaves like Kabar and Lagsius who grew up in the School of Gladiator have no social knowledge and survival skills. It is simply a dream to expect them to walk all the way from southern Italy to Greece.

"Omes, Chis Onis, since you can still think of me, for the sake of being a Spartan, I will help you again. Remember, this is the last time! From now on, you will find another candidate for the position of the commander!" Xu Mo said lightly.

"Because of your procrastination, it has been midnight since the uprising last night. Badacs should have been in the Governor's Mansion in Pompeii. The Roman army in Pompeii may have left the city to search for us!" Xu Mo said calmly, "Our team is not disciplined, the march is too loose, and it is impossible to hide whereabouts along the way. Therefore, whether we go south or north, we will be caught up by the Romans, and fighting is inevitable."

"We are not afraid of fighting, let the Romans come!" said Ragsius heroically.

"I have two suggestions for you to choose from about the future of the rebel army. One is the plan Artemis had originally made for you. You can disperse into small teams, so that at least more than half of the people will escape the battle behind. If you are lucky, more than one-quarter of the people will return to their original hometown." Xu Mo touched his chin and said cautiously.

"What else is there?" Kabar's heart moved.

"If you don't want to separate, then fighting with the Romans is inevitable. My other suggestion is to stay still, right here, at the foot of the Badacci Manor, fight the Romans!" Xu Mo said with a faint smile.

There were only two thousand regular troops in Pompeii. Today is the Phiblum Festival. The garrisons in the city need to maintain the order of Pompeii and hold an arena gladiatorial performance. There are only a few hundred troops coming out to pursue the rebel army.

The regular Roman army was good at group combat, with low individual force, and gladiators were not good at group combat, but had stronger individual force. The terrain at the foot of the Badac Manor was narrow, which was not conducive to the development of the army.

If the rebels wait for their leisure and rely on the terrain to disrupt the formation of the pursued Roman army, once the melee begins, their hope of victory will be great. After defeating these hundreds of regular troops, the part of the army in Pompeii will not dare to come out to pursue them again, and the rebels will have temporary space and time to move.

More importantly, since it was decided to unite and fight with the Romans, it was obvious that going north to join the Spartacus Rebel Army became the next choice for the Patacus Rebel Army.

However, Xu Mo's two proposals did not receive the support of Kabar and Ragsius. After hesitating for a while, Omes and Chis Onis also chose to remain silent.

Even so, Xu Mo just smiled and walked away. When he made these two suggestions, he knew that he would not be accepted by these big boys and would do his best. Moreover, his purpose was not this. If he really had to work hard to maintain such a rifty mob, he would probably not have the final result than Spartacus in history.

In the end, because there were few people supporting Kabar to go to Sicily, the rebels went north immediately according to Ragsius's suggestion and headed north to Mount Veswi to meet the Spartacus rebels.

"Boss, how are you discussing?" After Xu Mo came back, Dinah asked excitedly.

"Dinah, distribute the weapons in our two carriages to the gladiators, but the plate armor must first arm our people, and then the soldiers of the Spartan regiment. The next battle will depend on us." Xu Mo said with a serious expression.

Although the leaders of the four rebels of Kabar did not like Xu Mo, they still expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the distribution of the collected weapons to other gladiators. However, even so, their weapons were still insufficient.

The weapons sent to them by the three Roman-identified Reincarnators were limited in number, and the Badacci Manor's arsenal did not have many iron weapons. In fact, a small number of gladiators, a team of more than 400 people, only holding farm tools and wooden sticks. As for armor, most of them did not.

"Max, Hellington, how many Germanic and Gallic Gladiators are willing to follow you now?" Xu Mo asked lightly.

After receiving Max's answer, Xu Mo was very satisfied. The three female reincarnationists were attracted to each other. There were more than ten Germanic gladiators who were attracted to Mez, and Helington also had followers of this number. Xu Mo himself also won five Spartan warriors in the Spartan regiment. In addition to their six reincarnationists, they actually had more than 30 combat powers.

After all these people were wearing plate armor and took their weapons, they could already play a certain role in a small-scale battle.
