Chapter 386 Done
Chapter 386
Director Zhang is thinking.
After pondering for a few seconds, Director Zhang quickly made a decision, "Gu Lu, please give it a try."
Anyway, it’s just a try.
If you fail, you fail, and you lose nothing.
But if it succeeds...
That can be called an unexpected surprise!
Director Zhang's eyes fell on Professor Fang beside him.
Professor Fang understood immediately.
"Professor Gu, come with me here."
Professor Fang led the way.
Gu Lu nodded and followed Professor Fang into a small cubicle in the laboratory.
In the cubicle, in addition to Professor Fang himself, there were four or five people busy.
One of them is Professor Song from the School of Physics, who was temporarily called over by Professor Fang to help.
Professor Song is a full professor in the School of Physics at Yanda University.
He is even a few years older than Professor Song.
But now Professor Song has the same sad face as Director Zhang just now.
"Director Zhang, Lao Fang, who is this?"
"Oh, this is Professor Gu, here to help."
Professor Fang didn't have much to think about, so he simply introduced the two of them.
"Professor Gu, these are all the equipment we have here, okay?" Professor Fang turned to ask Gu Lu.
Gu Lu glanced at several devices in the cubicle.
Infrared spectrum imager, near-infrared excitation Fourier transform Raman spectrometer.
Both of the devices he needs are available.
Gu Lu nodded, "That's enough."
Professor Fang stretched out his hand to signal to Gu Lu.
Gu Lu pulled out a chair and sat down in front of the infrared spectrum imager.
"Gloves." Gu Lu said calmly.
Professor Fang signaled with his eyes, and the research assistant next to him quickly took a pair of gloves and handed them to Gu Lu.
Putting on gloves, Gu Lu moved his fingers.
Gu Lu's eyes gradually became sharp.
He carefully picked up a piece of gan wide bandgap semiconductor crystal with tweezers and placed it in front of the infrared spectrum imager for observation.
Based on the imaging results of the infrared spectrum, a simple infrared spectrum chart is printed.
This is just the first step.
Also the simplest step.
Because from the infrared spectrum, it can be clearly seen that there are many curved parts of the wave peaks.
This is due to the strong residual ray band-related reflection area in gan.
This makes the measurement results imprecise.
There is no way to draw conclusions from pure infrared spectrum imaging.
At this time, another instrument is needed, which is a Raman spectrometer.
There are many models of Raman spectrometers.
There are confocal micro-Raman spectrometers, solid-state photoacoustic Raman spectrometers, and the near-infrared excitation Fourier transform Raman spectrometer in front of Gu Lu.
It happened that what Gu Lu needed was this type of Raman spectrometer, which saved a lot of trouble.
This type of Raman spectrometer uses Fourier transform technology to collect signals, accumulate them multiple times to improve the signal-to-noise ratio, and irradiate the sample with a 1064mm near-infrared laser, which greatly weakens the fluorescence background.
Gu Lu took the printed infrared spectrum to the Raman spectrometer, and then changed the polarization value by inputting parameters to display different Raman spectra.
What Gu Lu needed to do was to find one or more local vibration modes in many tensile man spectra by combining the infrared spectra just now.
This is quite a tedious job.
Because the unit of local vibration mode length is millimeters.
In Raman spectroscopy imaging, the length of the mode is generally measured in decimeters.
On a Raman spectrum measured in decimeters, a local mutation of a few millimeters would appear very inconspicuous.
It is almost imperceptible to the naked eye.
You can only zoom in part by part to observe.
Time consuming and eye consuming.
Gu Lu's face was almost pressed against the computer monitor used to display the image.
Behind Gu Lu were all confused researchers.
Professor Song turned to look at Professor Fang, "What is this Professor Gu you found doing?"
Professor Fang smiled bitterly, "Ask me how I know."
"Didn't you find this person? He looks quite young. Did you find him from Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China, or abroad?" Professor Song held his arms and spoke while paying attention to Gu Lu's movements.
asked.
Professor Fang said helplessly, "I didn't find him on my own initiative. To be precise, he came to help me on his own initiative. Also, either I found this Professor Gu from outside, or he is from our Yanda University!"
"From Yanda University?" Professor Song was stunned for a moment, "I remember that we don't have a professor named Gu in the School of Physics."
"This Professor Gu is not from our college, but from the School of Mathematics next door."
"Mathematics Academy?!"
"Well, it's the School of Mathematics."
Professor Song's eyes widened and his words were a little incoherent, "Then...he...I...we just let him do whatever he wants?"
Professor Fang spread his hands and lowered his voice and said, "Director Zhang has already nodded, so we can just do it."
"It failed. We just wasted some time. Is there any other loss?"
"If it really succeeds, it will be really profitable!"
Professor Song shook his head and curled his lips, "Success, how can it be so easy?"
"If this problem could be solved so easily, you would still call me to help."
Professor Song patted Professor Fang on the shoulder, "I have been sitting in the experiment all day, and I just took this time to go for a drive. Lao Fang, when Professor Gu has enough fun, he will call me back. Let's
Then study.”
After saying that, Professor Song took out a cigarette from his pocket and walked out of the laboratory.
Professor Fang looked at Professor Song's retreating back and shook his head helplessly.
…………
Five minutes, ten minutes, twenty minutes...
Less than half an hour passed, and only Professor Fang and one of his research assistants were left among the researchers in the cubicle.
As for Gu Lu, he still had his face pressed against the computer screen and observed meticulously.
"etc--"
Gu Lu captured something keenly and controlled the mouse to lock on that area.
Gu Lu then magnified the Raman spectrum imaging of the locked area a hundred times.
Images in decimeter units are enlarged to millimeter units.
From the Raman spectrum imaging presented on the screen, it can be clearly seen that there are two bulges in the originally smooth fold line.
The positions are around 765 mm and 775 mm respectively.
This is the local vibration mode that Gu Lu was looking for.
Snap!
Gu Lu snapped his fingers and raised a smile on his lips.
Professor Fang, who was drowsy while sitting aside and waiting, was awakened by Gu Lu's voice.
"Professor Gu, how are you?" Professor Fang looked at Gu Lu with a smile on his face and asked in confusion.
Gu Lu called Professor Fang over.
Chapter completed!
