Chapter 1 I don't want to marry you (1)

On the day when I met Han Jingnian, Xia Wan'an only had three words in his heart: a lifetime.

He was the one she saw, and she wanted for the rest of her life.

——"I Want to Live Next Door to You" Ye Feiye

-

In the huge and spacious office, Xia Wan'an stared at Han Jingnian, sitting at the desk, and saw that he had come and said without stopping the work at hand, he took the initiative to speak out: "I... I'm here to find you, I have something to tell you."

Han Jingnian stopped typing on the keyboard’s fingertips, but he didn’t look at her. The sound of his opening was flat and cold: “You said.”

He was so alienated and cold that Xia Wan'an didn't dare to speak for a moment. She was silent for a long time. Seeing Han Jingnian looking up at him in confusion, she plucked up the courage to say, "I...I want to say, I can marry you."

Han Jingnian was stunned, but in a short moment, he regained his usual calmness and indifference: "I don't want to marry you."

The simple five words made Xia Wan'an's fingertips subconsciously tighten her clothes. She seemed to be afraid that he would see something. Without hesitation, she quickly said: "I...I know...I know you don't like me and don't want to marry me...but they let us marry..."

Xia Wan'an said this, and I don't know what to say. She was struggling for a while, but she was still unwilling to give up like this. She moved her lips again and changed the statement: "...Don't worry, we are just a deal. After we get married, I promise that it will not affect your current life. The cooperation you want will make my father facilitate... I, I don't like you, I do this, it's just to make my father happy... So, you, you..."

Before Xia Wan'an finished speaking, Han Jingnian made a sound, her voice was seductive and her voice was cold: "I'm going to have a meeting, you can do it yourself."

As he said that, he got up and took a document from the table.

Xia Wan'an opened her mouth and wanted to say something to persuade Han Jingnian, but she didn't say a word after that. Han Jingnian left her alone and left as if she didn't exist.

As the heavy door of the office closed, Xia Wan'an took his eyes back from the direction Han Jingnian left.

She looked around his office and finally her eyes fell on his desk.

She stared at the place where he had just sat, and her eyebrows and eyes were filled with warmth, but soon, it was covered by a faint sadness.

She knew that he didn't like her and wouldn't marry her, but she still didn't give up and tried it...

It was two hours later that Han had finished his meeting and returned to the office.

While walking towards the desk, he spoke to the secretary who was following him. When he sat in the office chair, what he wanted to say was finished, and the secretary could finally speak what he wanted to say: "Mr. Han, Miss Xia had already left two hours ago..."

Faced with this sentence, Han Jingnian's expression did not fluctuate at all.

The secretary had to continue and said: "I said I asked the driver to send her, but Miss Xia refused."

Han Jingnian still looked careless, as if the secretary was in the air.

"This is the document that Lawyer Chen asked me to transfer to you." The secretary spoke for the third time and handed over a document.

Han Jingnian finally reacted. He nodded slightly and quickly opened the document. After seeing the contents inside, his eyebrows suddenly frowned.

"Mr. Han?" Seeing that Han Jingnian had not responded for a long time, the secretary spoke again.

Han Jingnian came back to his senses and glanced at the secretary.

"If nothing happens, I'll go down first."

Han Jingnian said "hmm" and after the secretary stepped back for a while, he looked at the document in his hand again.

As he looked at it, he seemed very anxious and threw the document directly into the drawer, then turned on the computer and started working.

But his movements of typing on the keyboard revealed his inattention.

This state lasted for about an hour. He opened the drawer again, took out the document, and then leaned against the office chair and looked up at the ceiling.

He stayed alone for a long time, and finally picked up his cell phone and called Xia Wan'an.

Soon, the phone was answered.

I don’t know if it was his illusion, but Xia Wan’an on the other end of the phone was a little surprised and timid: “Hey?”

Han Jingnian didn't think too long in Xia Wan'an's tone, so he spoke directly and said the point he wanted to say: "I can marry you."
