Chapter 72 Victor Von Doom
Victor von Dum, the super villain code-named Doctor Doom, is mainly the number one enemy of the superhero group "Fantastic Four". He mastered science and technology beyond Iron Man, and through continuous in-depth research, he has achieved magical attainments that can match the Supreme Mage. After learning, he combined his advanced technology and unfathomable magic, used his extraordinary mind to overthrow the regime of Latovigna and sat on the throne himself. Then he even built the weak small Eastern European country Latovigna into one of the world's strongest countries with his extraordinary talents.
But that was all about what happened in the comics. Victor von Doom is just a college student - an extremely genius, but he is still just a student.
Michael actually didn't have such an in-depth understanding of Doom. He recognized Doom just because of Fox's old version of "Fantastic Four". Although Doom's setting and performance as a villain in the movie are really disappointing, he still heard about the height Duom reached in the original story.
A genius who practices dual science and magic, and one of the best minds and wisdom in the world, who in this world can be more suitable to be attracted into the career Michael is committed to?
"Paso?" The young Dum seemed to recognize him after hearing him revealing himself. Dum remembered seeing him on TV and had a little impression.
But this did not make him let go of his hostility.
"This still doesn't explain what you are here for," he said coldly. "My research is protected by the US military. I don't care what group boss you are or what you are, you don't have the right to come in without permission."
Michael didn't care. He pointed to several notebooks spread out on the messy lab bench next to him, and each piece of paper was filled with numbers, formulas or codes.
"Dimensional warping, material transformation...Your research is in-depth, Victor," said Michael. "It's quite impressive, but I'm afraid it's still a bit far from the result you want."
Dum was surprised and also got angry. The contents of these notes were the most cutting-edge research he had conducted privately. He was proud that there should be no one in the world who could understand it except himself, but this guy not only seemed to understand it, but when he accurately named his research direction, his tone sounded like an insignificant elementary school mathematics question.
"Are you peeking at my notes?" Dum strode to the table and slapped the cover of the notebook.
"Just just flip through it while you're waiting for you. Your results are indeed enough to be praised, but if you really want the code you remembered here to work, you might be better off considering making some corrections. For example, in that multi-threaded program segment, if it's me, I'll consider using atomic variables instead."
Dumm pointed at the door angrily: "Go out. I don't need anyone to admit my job, or ignorantly point fingers at my research. You don't know anything at all..."
As he spoke, his voice became weaker unconsciously, and his eyes returned to the notebook lying on the table like a devil.
Dum frowned, then opened the notebook again, burying his head as if no one else was around.
"Wait...it's impossible...no, it seems to work...yes, so it will succeed!"
He muttered to himself for a while, then suddenly looked up in surprise and found that Michael was still sitting in the chair without saying a word, waiting patiently for him to think, like a tutor who was willing to guide students to solve problems independently.
Dum's attitude was a little bit relaxed - he always seemed to be easier to get along with people with similar IQs to him.
"So the media didn't brag too much, I admit that you are really different from most idiots. Your proposal...is very good. If I succeed, it's a favor I owe you."
Victor von Doom is an extremely self-centered person. He admits that Michael thought of ideas he could not think of, but he is reluctant to admit that the other party is better than him. His ego makes him extremely sensitive to favors that he owe others, so he never asks for help.
But even Dum had to look at this stranger with admiration. Only he himself knew that many formulas and languages in his work notes were not understood by ordinary people, because it was the success he obtained by combining the gypsy black magic he had come into contact with the science and technology he later learned. No matter how smart an engineer was, he should not be able to understand it, because it was not pure science.
But this guy seemed to really understand.
"Say it again," Dum gave up the idea of rushing the other party out, "What are you looking for when you come here?"
“Providing job invitations. But not asking you to work for me, it’s more like collaborative.” Michael said, “A mind as great as you deserves a better opportunity.”
"You mean, and Paso Tech?"
Michael shook his head.
"I'm talking about a lot more money than joining a franchise company to make R&D. You are different from others, Victor, you are destined to achieve great things, and you can't let them squeeze your value in the captivity of the US government for the rest of your life. I invite you in the hope that you can become part of a huge cause...but of course this is too broad and empty. So we might as well talk about something practical."
He leaned forward.
"I have all kinds of resources, equipment and equipment that the army does not have, and there are some that may not even be imagined. I can help you achieve your ultimate goal, Dumm." He paused and emphasized his tone, "I can give you the necessary support to help you rescue your mother from hell as soon as possible."
Dum raised his head like an electric shock, his eyes mixed with inexplicable surprise and confusion.
When Dum was young, his mother, a gypsy girl, had a deal with Mephisto, the demon who ruled the hell, in order to defend her tribe and fight back against the oppressors, and her soul is still imprisoned in hell forever torture.
After coming to the United States, he never mentioned it to anyone, but this has always been his real purpose - combining cutting-edge technology and advanced magic to find a path to hell, and to rescue his mother's poor soul from the hands of the King of Hell.
Michael stood up and tidied up his clothes: "Okay, the invitation has been sent. You have a week to consider it, Victor. The contact information will be automatically deposited in your phone in one minute. If you have thought about it, just give me a reply within a week. If you choose to refuse, you don't have to reply, and the number will be automatically cleared from your phone in a week - the kind that cannot be retrieved."
After saying that, without waiting for a response, he opened the door and walked out of the room.
"Wait a moment!"
Dum hurriedly caught up, opened the door and rushed to the corridor. But when he stood in the corridor and looked around, there was no trace of half a person?
Dum retreated to the room and sat back on the laboratory chair. He took out his cell phone and opened the contact person. Sure enough, he found that a number he had never seen had been saved in without anyone knowing it.
He frowned slightly and unconsciously squeezed the outer shell of the phone.
