Chapter 497 Identity crisis?

"Are you sure it's this place?" Michael enlarged a starry sky on the screen, and a coordinate was marked with a red dot.

Wanda nodded: "The coordinates are restored based on the memory of the Scraer spy. It is here - the center of the Scraer Empire, which should be their base camp."

"Very good." Michael nodded, "Sherley, download the coordinates to the local server of the suit, and then draw the interstellar map. I need to prepare for an interstellar trip."

"I understand, sir." Shirley asked as she did as she did, "But have you really thought about it, sir? Maybe attacking an alien empire is not one..."

"I know what's going on in my heart," he interrupted.

"Okay, you're the boss anyway." Shirley shrugged and stopped talking. Her virtual image gradually dissipated in the room.

Wanda watched Michael operate quickly on the floating screen, and stopped talking for a while without saying anything.

In the end, Michael turned to her.

"Don't worry too much," said Michael, "I won't have anything to do."

"How do you know?" the little witch pouted, "You have never hit the aliens' headquarters again."

"I just know."

"You're irresponsible to say this." Wanda said unhappily, "You're like you're perfunctory. We're talking about fighting an entire alien empire! You may face hundreds of millions of interstellar warships, and what can you rely on? Spells? And a set of armor? We don't know...???"

The little witch seemed to have a lot of things to say, but she couldn't say it in the end. Michael suddenly came up and blocked her mouth with his lips without saying anything.

Wanda was not at all prepared. Her pupils contracted, and her throat made a vague "Yeah" sound, but she only subconsciously resisted for a second or two before giving up.

She closed her eyes gently, feeling like she was surrounded by him.

Michael retreated. Wanda's cheeks were flushing and his eyes dodged. She whispered: "You know, even if this is the case, it cannot...it can't change my mind."

"I know." Michael was still calm, as if nothing had happened just now.

"... there must be another way." Wanda leaned lightly into his arms, "You didn't have to go."

"This is the best solution," Michael said. "Someone has to do it."

"But that's not fair." Wanda bit her lip, "Why is it you all the time?"

Michael smiled, very rare, but he did smile from the bottom of his heart.

"Because no one else will do it, and no one else can do it," he said.

In fact, everything he has done so far is this, and this is his only rule.

He doesn't want to be a hero, nor does he want to be a savior or something. But some things are something that someone has to do.

And there are some things that no one else can do.

He scraped Wanda's little nose: "Okay, that's it. Don't make it like I've become a martyr who died on the battlefield. As I said, a group of Scrurul reptiles, they are not able to do anything to me yet."

Wanda nodded slowly and whispered: "Then... then you have to promise me. When this pile of aliens' destruction is over... When you come back from aliens, you have to give yourself a vacation. You haven't had a rest for too long. At least one week, we will forget the Heavenly Sword and your mission. Just you and me, let's go out for fun together..."

Well...this idea sounds good, but girl, isn't it appropriate for you to say this at this time...(flag flying)

Michael didn't care, so he gently stroked her head, nodded and said, "Okay, I promise you. For a week, we will not want anything, go out for a good time."

"Hmm...sir?"

Shirley's transparent image appeared in the empty room at some point again, tilting her head to look at the two people hugging each other.

"That...I know this may not be a good time, but don't rush to throw me into the recycling bin," Shirley pointed to the flashing communication interface, "Miss Betty has something to say to you - a very important thing."

Although she knew that Shirley was just an artificial intelligence, she felt a little embarrassed to be seen like this, and she blushed and let go of her hand. Michael didn't care at all: "Check it in."

The phone was connected, and the secretary Elizabeth, who had not seen for a long time, appeared on the other side of the screen.

"What's the situation, Elizabeth?" Michael asked.

"Sir, you'd better go back to the company," said Elizabeth. "A gentleman must see you."

Michael frowned: "You know I'm very busy recently and don't have much time to deal with this. You can just make the decision on the company's business, no matter what happens now..."

"But sir," Elizabeth said, "the other party came to your office... and asked the commander who wanted to see the Sky Sword."

Michael frowned.

"Okay." He said, "let him wait a few minutes and tell him I'll be there soon."

As soon as Michael finished the communication, Wanda couldn't wait to ask: "What? Is the Sky Sword already..."

"I don't know, but I'll figure it out now."

"So do our interstellar travel plans need to be postponed, sir?" asked Shirley.

"No, follow the original plan." Michael waved his hand gently, and the spell portal opened in the air, "I'll go back."

***

In terms of identity hiding, Michael believes that he has always been more careful. Michael Paso and the Black Knight, in various senses, both identities have been completely separated, and there is no connection or even any intersection between the two.

If we can find out that these two are actually evidence of the same person in this way, then the other party must be extraordinary.

Michael prefers to think that the other party is putting together through many tiny details and fragments. The reasoning speculates that there should be no actual evidence. But even if his identity is really exposed, it doesn't matter. Identity hiding is his need in the early stage of construction, and today's sword development has become the most powerful institution on this planet. Michael Paso's identity is already unnecessary to him. As long as he wants, he can become anyone at any time, or even become non-existent.

There are very few people on this planet who see through his identity. Before Michael arrived at the office, he had roughly guessed.
