【002】 Vanilla

Zhong Kui was not interested in Huahua, but was interested in the hands he accidentally saw when he was passing by the pond.

The reservoir is not the kind of cement or solidified wall. It is surrounded by yellow mud. When you get water, you can only step on the stone piers built by people.

The stone pier extends to the shallow water of the pond, and the children all hang bamboo poles around the surroundings to fish. There is only one girl, sitting alone on the stone pier, and putting her feet into the cold water to play in the water.

Just as Zhong Mingfa and Zhong Kui were passing by the reservoir, the children cast strange gazes at Zhong Kui and pointed at them and said that the monster was coming.

Zhong Kui caught a glimpse of the girl's white hands in the water where she stretched her feet to play, like a plankton, scratching the soles of her feet up and down with the floating algae.

Zhong Kui knew that his father was half-believing and half-doubted, but most of them didn't agree with it. He always thought he was a child and could not believe what he said. So he did not say what he saw. Until his father asked him to pick wild flowers, he secretly followed the same path and trotted back to the reservoir.

The half-aged children who were fishing dispersed because they saw Zhong Kui coming or for other reasons.

Zhong Kui didn't know why these older children ran away or why they called him freak. He couldn't care so much, so he just trotted to the place where he saw the girl.

The girl disappeared, Zhong Kui looked at the children in a daze. In the team that ran away from the children, he stepped onto the stone pier step by step and had to walk to the largest stone pier. Because the girl was sitting on the largest stone pier and playing with water, stepping on the shaking stone pier, her little heart was still a little scared to jump straight on.

Zhong Kui squatted on the stone pier, possessed himself and looked in the water...

An adult passed by the reservoir and didn't understand what the freak child was doing. He lay on the stone pier with his hands, and stared at the water with his eyes wide open.

At this moment, the passing adult suddenly saw that Zhong Kui was possessed and lay down, and a string of bubbles appeared in the water. Then a child suddenly floated up, and the child was the little girl.

When Zhong Kui saw the girl floating up, he wanted to reach out to grab it.

The adults also said that it was very obvious. How could he see a teenage child who saved the girl in the water regardless of life and death? He shouted loudly, shouted Zhong Kui who stretched out his hand, and then stepped over it step by step, grabbed the girl in the water, and lifted it up.

The shouts of someone falling into the water alarmed the villagers who were plowing nearby fields. He hurriedly brought the plowing ox and lay the drowning girl on the back of the cow. The girl opened her mouth and spit out a slush of clear water. After a long cough, she gradually regained her mind.

The girl stared at Zhong Kui as soon as she woke up. She was covered in pain and, under the inquiry of the adults, she intermittently explained the reason for falling into the water.

The girl is the daughter of Mrs. Zhang's family. She is two years younger than Zhong Kui. Vanilla plays with water on the stone pier of the reservoir and feels very comfortable to put her feet into the water. It seems that there are little fish tickling the soles of her feet, so she keeps giggling and giggling.

Vanilla's happy laughter made the fishing boys not far away dissatisfied. They cursed: "Girls are so annoying that they scared the fish away." They were so angry that they picked up mud on the ground and threw it at Vanilla.

Vanilla wanted to support her while avoiding the mud. It was fine if she didn't move, but suddenly she stretched out a pair of white hands from the water, grabbed her feet and pulled them into the water.

Vanilla was frightened and shouted for help. Vanilla was deliberately playing pretentiously, so she was too lazy to pay attention to her. They focused on fishing. After a while, a child suddenly said, "Vanilla is gone."

Only then did the children notice that a bunch of bubbles appeared in the place where the herbs were playing in the water. The people disappeared. Some children ran to the stone pier to check, but found no movement. They all knew that the reservoir was four or five meters deep. When people fell into the water, even if the adults came, they might not be able to salvage them. What's more, people had drowned here before, and when they thought of it, they were so scared that they quickly put away their fishing rods and ran away.

After hearing what Vanilla’s parents told, Zhong Mingfa couldn’t help but curse, “Bah! Do these children grow up with bran food?” and asked in a cursed and puzzled manner, “This has nothing to do with our Kui’er, right?”

Vancao's mother kept praising Zhong Kui and said to Zhong Mingfa: "It's related, it's related. If it weren't for your child, you've been there, Vancao wouldn't have met a kind-hearted person to save him when he floated up."

Daddy Vanilla didn't say anything, but silently put down the potatoes, and stood at the door and waited for his wife with an anxious look on his face.

Zhong Mingfa smiled at Vanilla's parents. He knew this woman who was right and wrong too much, and the one who spread rumors in the village was the most excited. He said that Zhong Kui was a monster and a child born in the cemetery.

After seeing off Vanilla's parents, Zhong Mingfa, who was holding a cigarette pipe, raised his eyelids and glanced at him, just like Zhong Kui who had nothing happened. He felt that this was a bit strange. The older children didn't see Vanilla, so why did their children see it?

"Kuier, come here and ask you something."

Zhong Kui looked at his father's gloomy face and smiled happily just now. Why did he change his face? I wonder why his father was unhappy again.

Little little head was thinking about it, and casually brought my father's black teacup, handed it to Zhong Mingfa attentively and said, "Dad, drink tea."

"You boy, you spend your time fooling your father at a young age and tell me what happened to Vanilla just now?"

"Vanilla~ She's fine, nothing is wrong!" Zhong Kui didn't know what his father was asking about, whether it was the big children throwing her with mud, or whether it was her friend who was lifted out of the water after she was addicted to the bottom of the water.

"How did you know that vanilla is at the bottom of the water, how did you make her float up?" Zhong Mingfa felt that this was ridiculous. How could a little older child make a person who is addicted to the bottom of the water float up? But if you don't ask this, what should you ask?

"When I saw that Vanilla was gone, I called my friend to hold her up. It was that simple."

Zhong Mingfa was angry when he heard this almost ridiculous statement. He glared at him and scolded, "You dead child, why are you lying to your father? Do you really want people to laugh at me and say you are not educated by your mother?"

The sensible Zhong Kui was angry when he saw his father angry. The blue veins on his neck were bulging, and the sound of his throat was filled with a violent cough. He was so panicked that he hurriedly brought a wooden bench and asked his father to sit down. He raised his fist and beat his father on the back.

"Dad, I didn't lie. I have a lot of friends who have been by my side."

Zhong Mingfa became more and more angry as he heard this. This child is very capable of lying, and he is simply eloquent. He said to himself: Friends, who is willing to be a friend of our children in the village? Since he learned how to walk, he has never really had a friend.

Zhong Mingfa's thoughts were in his heart and had not yet expressed it.
