【010】 Rainy day

Grandpa left, and grandpa left many indelible memories for Zhong Kui. He turned his eyes through the mist when night was coming, and looked back at grandpa's lonely house. Maybe in a few days, the house will become the home for rats and cockroaches, or someone else's repairs it to become someone else's sheep pen.

Along the way, Zhong Kui felt a bunch of strange gazes, scanning from a hidden position. He was like the focus point under the night, thorned by needle-like eyes.

Zhong Kui knew that under the yellow soil walls in the dark, there were some bad intentions hidden. These people were very repulsive to him and completely regarded him as an alien. Once upon a time, he also asked his father curiously why these people looked at him like this. His father said that because of his reasons, working was a way to cut the dead's holes, so others would look at them with an alternative perspective.

When Zhong Kui heard his father's explanation, he comforted his father: what others think is the business of others. We cannot live in the shadow of other people's eyes and walk our own way. We must not care what others think and what they think.

Thinking of his father, Zhong Kui speeded up. He could not be naughty anymore in the future, and he should respect his father well.

After all, it was the child's nature. He was crying bitterly just now. Now he thought that his father might be waiting for him to eat at home, and maybe he bought delicious steamed buns at the market for him to eat. The hazy mood suddenly became clear, and he ran home jumping all the way, accidentally colliding with several older children coming towards him.

I don’t know whether these children were intentional or unintentional, but the first one to knock down Zhong Kui was the half-grown boy in front of me who was wearing a gray-white double-breasted sweatshirt and was stupid and thick-headed.

Just because Zhong Kui was a freak in other people's mouths when he was young, he could not be integrated with these children. So he is not very familiar with these children and does not know them.

At this moment, the leading child in front of him blocked Zhong Kui's road like a wall. He had a cynical expression on his face. After a wink, he was looking at Zhong Kui with a playful gaze.

When the older child watched Zhong Kui, he seemed to be a monkey watching a circus show. When he bumped into Zhong Kui, he not only did not apologize, but he also slowly picked up his hand. He curled his lips and said in a provocative tone: "Freak Little Evil Star, you have killed your grandfather. Who do you want to defeat again?"

By the way, Zhong Kui was not a coward. He did not retreat and just glared at the other party who was close to him. He asked sternly without fear of the provocateur: "What do you want to do?"

The big child, who was one head higher than Zhong Kui, looked at the little guy who was facing his chest with contemptuous eyes and a look of contempt, and laughed sternly: "Haha! You will know what we want to do later." As he said that, he raised his hand and grabbed Zhong Kui's hair and lifted it up hard.

Zhong Kui frowned in pain, lifted his feet and stepped on the older child's toes.

"Wow!" The eldest child shouted, immediately picked up the painful foot and danced one-legged dance.

Seeing this, the other children rushed up, some grabbed Zhong Kui's sweatshirt, and some pulled his earlobes... The scene was in chaos, with screams and clamors.

The children pressed Zhong Kui to the ground, stomped and kicked him, and then dispersed in a noisy way.

Not far away, Zhong Kui was fine, with a peaceful expression, quietly watching the children playing and dispersing. Finally, he looked at the tall and half-old child who had not stood up for a long time on the ground and said to the air beside him: "Is he injured? Why don't you go and help him?"

The tall and half-aged child was very depressed. He obviously pressed Zhong Kui down, but why did these little bastards hit him? "Hiss! It hurts so much." He grinned and cried lowly. Then he slowly tried to get up. At this moment, his eyes fixed.

I just remembered that Zhong Kui was within the range of their besiege, but now he was standing a few feet away from him, staring at him with anger... and there was really a green light in his eyes...

"Ghost...ah!" The terrified voice dragged the vibrato and echoed for a long time in the mountain village where the night gradually became dark.

Saying goodbye to the two friends, Zhong Kui hurried home. As he walked, he scratched his head and felt that the two friends just now seemed to have any hints, or wanted to tell him something. But after thinking about it carefully, it seemed that there was no such meaning.

Zhong Kui paused for a moment, frowned and pondered for a moment, a little annoyed. He said in his heart: Forget it, I don’t want to think about it anymore, I have to go home quickly to see if my father is back.

The house was empty and messy, and no one was there at all. Seeing all this, Zhong Kui suddenly felt panicked.

"Dad...? Don't scare me." Zhong Kui's tender voice seemed sad and lonely in the room. Why? Did something really happen to my father? He looked at the empty room and his eyes fell on the incomplete portrait of his ancestor.

In front of the portrait, it seems like a figure kneeling on his father.

"Dad..." Zhong Kui took a step forward and shouted. The figure seen in front of him disappeared without a trace, but only that portrait was swaying in the wind.

A cold wind blew behind him, and Zhong Kui had never been afraid, except for the nightmare he had at his grandfather's house. At this time, he was scared, especially when he turned his head to look outside the black door. He was frightened, as if he felt something outside the door and something bad was peeking at him.

Dad, where have you been? Why don’t you go home? Zhong Kui mustered up the courage to close the door of the main room. He muttered silently in his heart, raised the kerosene lamp that kept flashing and swaying, and entered his own bedroom in the room.

There were many cracked holes on the walls. There were also colorful pieces of rags stuffed with them. Zhong Kui heard from his father that it was very cold in the house in winter, so that the cracked holes would be blocked so that the cold wind and cold would not come in through the holes. His fingers stroked the dusty rags, and the corners of his eyes became wet.

That night, Zhong Kui didn't sleep well. When he just closed his eyes, he heard the sound of a sound from the main hall. There were sighs, the crisp sound of a cigarette piercing against the large table, and the footsteps that only my father made when he walked.

The night blinked, and his ghostly eyes secretly peeked at the lonely child in the room. He was so tired that he finally fell asleep. In the darkness, a pair of big hands that sometimes didn't exist, gently wiped away the tears from the corners of the child's eyes.

The early morning came quickly, and the birds jumped on the branches and chirped happily. The birds cried through the wooden lattice window, and Zhong Kui was sleeping in his ears.

The first thing Zhong Kui did when he woke up was to see his father's room and whether there was anyone. When his heart was beating and he pushed open his father's room door, he felt an unprecedented sense of loss. He was slowly swallowing his weak will, and an expectation emerged countless times in his heart. He hoped that his father would suddenly appear at the door, even if he scolded him or slapped him like last time.

The weather is changing rapidly. At first, the sky was still bright and suddenly became gloomy and low. This abnormal climate is like an invisible pressure, adding a heavy feeling to Zhong Kui's heart.
