This is the least introduced battle in the world's military history. Even in the combat history of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, we only know a few quick strokes. In fact, this extremely tragic life-and-death battle is an extremely rare and cruel battle in the history of world wars.

Everyone knows that in the second phase of the fifth battle, our 180th Division was surrounded and suffered heavy damage, and its organization was completely disrupted, and it was finally forced to disperse and break through. Some even say that the 180th Division was completely wiped out, leaving a very disgraceful side on the Korean battlefield. So until now, the 180th Division has been removed and still carries a heavy historical burden.

Because of the astonishing number of people involved in this battle, from Wei Jie, the commander of the 60th Army, Zheng Qigui, the commander of the division, was demoted to the management director of the corps (the commander of the corps was demoted to the corps), Duan Longzhang, the deputy commander of the army, was demoted to the commander of the combat department (the deputy commander of the corps and the regiment). All the cadres above the regiment who broke through the 180th Division were left to the party to check, demoted to the grassroots company cadres for inspection, many soldiers were criticized. All the cadres and soldiers of the 180th Division were inspected over and over again under the political pressure, apologizing over and over again, and the endless inspection continued until the Cultural Revolution.

However, looking at the historical data slowly deciphered after the Korean War, it seems that there is no structure for the 180th Division to break through the scattered border, but the final result has to be thoughtful. The brave soldiers of the 180th Division fought tenaciously. Even though they fought alone behind enemy lines, they still insisted on their beliefs and ideals. In order to return to the motherland and find the large army, the soldiers were not afraid of hardship or fatigue and endured all the hardships and finally broke out one after another. When Zhishi went to count the number of people again in mid-1951, he found that it was a strange injustice to say that the 180th Division was completely wiped out.

When the 180th Division was surrounded along the Han River, the actual combat force should be less than 8,000. According to the statistics of the number of people breaking through later, except for Wu Chengde, director of the division's political department, Guo Zhaolin, director of the division's artillery, Wang Huaying, chief of the division's combat section, Zhao Zuori, political commissar of the 538th Regiment, who were captured, all other important division-level generals returned to the team.

Among the three regiments under its jurisdiction, Pang Kechang, the leader of the 538th regiment, led his men to break through successfully, but the political commissar Zhao Zuori was captured.

Wang Zhicheng, the leader of the 539th Regiment, led his men to break through successfully, but political commissar Han Qiming was seriously injured and could not bear to implicate his comrades in action, so he pulled out his gun and committed suicide.

Liu Yaohu, the commander of the 540th Regiment, led the Second Battalion to be in charge of the military headquarters, but did not participate in the battle, but the political commissar Li Maozhao led the first, and the remnants of the Third Battalion successfully broke through.

From here, we can see that the command system of the 180th Division is complete, the main commander is safe, the command system of the three regiments under its jurisdiction is basically complete, and the military commanders are sound. It is particularly worth mentioning that as long as the return commander is brought back to the guard fuses, maps, documents and guns of each regiment.

A total of more than 8,000 people in the division were finally surrounded and carried out a breakthrough operation. When they returned to the rear, the division and the regiments carefully counted the personnel as soon as possible. At the initial statistics, 456 people were sacrificed and 1,616 were injured. 5,572 people were unknown (missed, captured, separated, left behind, sacrificed).

But the actual result was that most of the soldiers who were dispersed when the 180th Division broke through were persevering with a daunting perseverance. There were countless soldiers scattered on both sides of the Han River like a vast ocean. Some were forced to fight guerrillas behind enemy lines, some lived in the homes of ordinary people in South Korea, and some were forced to hide in the mountains and forests. However, as long as you hear news from the troops, the 180th Division would be a living soldier, even if you climb back to the troops.

No one in that country in the world has such a firm national integrity, and the spirit of Chinese soldiers to never give up has awe of the world.

The United States, an immigrant country, will never find such loyal warriors. The feelings of the descendants of the dragon to their motherland, their hometown and their relatives still make countries around the world feel incredible, but the soldiers of the 180th Division made the best interpretation of this incredible.

They will never give up their dear motherland, and will never give up the glory in their hearts. Even if many soldiers die, the direction they face before they die is the ancient Chinese country they love the most.

It lasted until June 1951, nearly a year after the 180th Breakout Battle, the Volunteer Army Headquarters could be surprised to see that the remaining troops of the 180th Division were still returning to the team one after another. Many soldiers became thin and unkempt when they returned to the troops, like savages running out of the mountains one after another. However, once they returned to the troops, their eyes were filled with tears, and they hugged the guards and cried without any light, like a child who found their mother.

There are also many things that touched and shocked the soldiers of the Volunteer Army. Some soldiers crawled to find the troops, but they had been tortured by injuries and were already out of shape. Even if the military doctor arrived, they could only be helpless. But when he closed his eyes, everyone would be sad to see a peaceful smile on the corner of his mouth, as if they worked hard all the way to find the troops, even in their own homes for death.

What kind of troops is this? How daunting is their integrity? The result of counting the number of people again is really shocking. Looking at the world battles over the past five thousand years, it is impossible to say that this is a miracle. In the end, the soldiers of the 180th Division were unable to return to the army except for sacrifice and capture. The number of them returned to the team reached more than 3,000 people.

Looking back on this history, let’s compare the Iron-yuan blocking war of the Sixty-Three Army. If the 8,000 troops were left with more than 3,000 troops besides the captured and sacrificed soldiers, not to mention that his organization was fully integrated, it was also called total annihilation, so people would not know how to view the Volunteer Army and the United Nations Army who died on the Iron-yuan line.

After three days and three nights of strong attack, the fierce battle between the two sides made the commander of the Eighth Army, Van Farit, almost vomiting blood, and the commander of the Sixty-Three Army was stunned on the spot after the battle.

In the cruel battle, the god of death regains the heroic souls floating on the battlefield. The 189th Division Command needs to constantly reorganize the army system so that the troops can better organize the battle. However, every time the officers sort it out, they will cry with tears in their eyes.

Most of the first battalion of the 566th Regiment died heroically, the second and third battalions were no longer established; the first battalion of the 567th Regiment had lost its combat effectiveness, and more than fifty people in the fourth company of the 2nd Battalion could participate in the battle, the fifth and sixth companies had no established squads, the eighth and ninth companies each had only more than twenty people, and more than seventy people in the 7th Company could participate in the battle; the 565th Regiment was fighting against the enemy's attack, and the situation was unknown; there were only more than sixty people left in the division service battalion, and they also entered the battle.

From the division to the regiment, from the regiment to the battalion, from the battalion to the company, from the company to the platoon, from the platoon to the squad... several squads were merged into one squad, several soldiers were merged into one squad, until the officers were also replenished into the company...

Even so, the position often falls until the last person is defeated. Even if it hits this point, a piece of pig iron will be turned into ashes. At the critical moment, Fu Chongbi, the commander of the 63rd Army, made a painful decision, and finally had to be transferred to the 188th Division of the reserve team and headed up.

Afterwards, more than 14,000 people from the 189th Division entered the position, but only more than 1,000 people were able to stand down on Tieyuan. This earth-shaking life-and-death battle gave the 189th Division the final cruel result, which was much larger than the 180th Division, which was claimed to have been completely wiped out. The casualty rate of one division reached 90%, and it was in a battle of less than five days, which was extremely rare in the history of wars in various countries.

At this time, Wang Yang didn't know that the 189th Division was handing over the position and realized the crisis on our position. The 188th Division was ordered to pull up to rotate the brothers who had already lost an astonishing loss.

They took the positions defended by their comrades with their lives and blood with tears, determined not to give up even if they died. However, time was too tight, and they could not take into account the high ground in the southwest. It was at the critical moment of this life and death of the blocking war that he followed a battalion of South Korean troops to rush to our position.

This is the North Mountain position of Fahuadong, more than 40 miles southwest of the Tieyuan. The mountain is about 250 meters high, the top of the mountain is more than ten meters wide and more than 60 meters long. It should have been covered with pines and cypresses, but now it is difficult to find weeds. If the existence of ants is discovered, it is a miracle. Under the bombardment of the US military at all costs, the entire highland has been dug three feet here, but half of the peak has been flattened and changed the natural environment is absolutely fine.

There are cliffs on the east and north sides of the mountain. There is a mountain about three miles long in the northwest, connecting the 535 highlands where Wang Yang is now located. The soldiers who defended the position of the Sixty-Three Army must confront the United Nations Army in the south. They must defend the two sides of the enemy. They are cliffs on both sides, control a ditches on the left, and cooperate with friendly troops to annihilate the enemy.

However, when Wang Yang rushed over with the frightened South Korean army, Wang Yang didn't know that there should be a reinforced platoon of the Eighth Company of the 565th Regiment of the 189th Division who was holding on here, but after several bloody battles, there were less than five soldiers left on this position who could fight.

Dried lips, tired face, and bloodshot eyes. The five volunteer warriors had not closed their eyes for days and nights, and they didn't even have time to eat and drink a few sips of water. At this time, they were eating in the rare gap in the battlefield, but when the South Korean army approached, the soldiers serving as sentinels immediately issued a warning for the battle.

There was no need for any mobilization. All the soldiers who could move spontaneously advanced to the front of the position. What was sad is that at this time, each of them had less than ten bullets, and there were only three grenades in total. The stones had been smashed by them, and the position was almost flattened by the enemy's artillery fire. However, they still had fighting spirit in their eyes. The fire of their lives had not yet burned out, so they had to resolutely deal with the arrival of the enemy.

At this time, the 188th Division, which should have been replaced, was still struggling to advance here on the defensive position of our army's second line behind, but a whole battalion of South Korean troops was slowly approaching their positions. They looked up at the moonlight. The disgusting sky above North Korea was raining. It was really rare to see several blue sky nights. Unfortunately, they saw the moon in their hometown. They could only stare at the Yalu River with affectionate eyes. They were ready to sacrifice their last sacrifice, but even if they died, they would take several times the enemy to take the back...
