Chapter four hundred and eighteen, fooled

This Lucien Evans is actually Gauss's vest. Of course, the name was helped by his mentor Joseph Bonaparte. The reason is naturally for some unknown commemoration.

"Haha, do you think this matter has just passed?" Joseph couldn't help thinking like this when he confirmed such a name for Gauss' vest.

Of course, except for Joseph, no one knows what kind of horror the seemingly ordinary name "Lucine Evans" represents. In another time and space, such a terrifying reputation as "the original devil, the fallen morning star, the skull-breaking demon, the brain-eating maniac, the headshot demon, and the three-view destruction" is enough to stop the baby from crying.

Naturally, Napoleon didn't know what kind of horror he would face.

"A strict proof of the principles of geometry and the parallel line theorem?" Napoleon read the question first, "A parallel line theorem, is this also a person who wants to remove parallel lines from the axiom?"

The fifth public of Euclidian geometry, that is, parallel public, looks far less intuitive than the previous public appraisals. It lacks the concise and clear beauty of public appraisals, so since ancient Greece, countless mathematicians have wanted to prove it through four other public appraisals and five axioms, so as to clear it from the public appraisal team and turn it into a theorem.

Napoleon opened the paper and started reading it.

"It's not bad. At least from the beginning, it's still very regular. Unlike the fools in front of you, you can't even understand the most basic things." Napoleon nodded, picked up the coffee placed on the table and took a sip, then lowered his head and continued to look.

As he watched, Napoleon was no longer calm.

"Damn it, what are these things! Really... I thought I could see something that is not a civil science and technology, but a little bit normal. As a result... How could this guy talk so seriously? Is this guy really unwilling to see what the outside world looks like? It's so infuriating!"

Napoleon couldn't stand it anymore, so he couldn't help but turn the paper to the end and then started to comment directly:

"A ridiculous reasoning has been a ridiculous result. This is a erroneous paper, worthless and cannot pass the review. I think the author should look up at the window and look at the real world... My opinion, the paper cannot pass the review. I think the best way to do this kind of whimsical and no one can understand is to throw it into the fireplace, which can play its only role."

After writing these, Napoleon threw the paper aside, pouting in his mouth: "I understand why no one is willing to review the paper. This is just forcing people to feed people shit. I've seen such a lot of ridiculous things all morning and all morning! This is really... Joseph is right, there is no lower limit to human IQ."

Generally speaking, in order to ensure that the paper can be evaluated fairly during review, a paper will be sent to several people for review. This of course increases the workload, so Napoleon was assigned to a bunch of papers in the afternoon.

Napoleon's enthusiasm had long been exhausted by the folk papers. So he made an excuse to date Ms. Lola, and then threw all his work to Mr. Lagrang, and then left. Of course, Mr. Lagrang was not willing to do such things - he had not done such things for many years. So he naturally distributed these things to several of his students so that they could receive exercise...

The next morning, Napoleon unexpectedly received a notice from the Academy of Sciences because his judgment on the paper "Strict Proof of Geometry Principles and Parallel Theorem" was very different from that of another trainee academician, Mr. Jean Baptis Joseph Fourier. Therefore, the Academy of Sciences sent the paper to him again in accordance with the practice so that he could review it again. If no one is willing to change his opinion a week later, a hearing will be held to resolve the difference.

"Hmm? Fourier made this damn paper pass?" Napoleon was shocked.

If Fourier had followed his academic level and contribution, he would have long been an academician of the Academy of Sciences. However, he was also an important personnel in Bonaparte's laboratory. His most important research results were considered very strategic by Joseph, especially in radio communications. As long as he could temporarily cover his things, even if the British stole the radio stations secretly equipped by the French, they would almost never be able to imitate useful things. Therefore, these results were temporarily kept confidential.

Of course, Joseph did not treat Fourier unfairly, and Fourier also obtained a lot of stocks in Bonaparte General Electric. With the annual dividends, he has become the second only to Joseph and Lavoisier in the French Academy of Sciences.

Of course, because of this, Mr. Fourier is only an intern academician until now. (In fact, it is not bad. In the original history, Fourier was not even an intern academician at this time)

Although Fourier was just an intern academician, Napoleon still admired Fourier's academic level. Moreover, Fourier was a member of Joseph's group, which made Napoleon even more alert.

"Am I really wrong? Yes, I haven't even finished reading that damn paper. If I made a mistake in the first thing I did as an academician, it would be really embarrassing. Damn, it wasn't Joseph deliberately prepared to cheat me? No, I have to look at it again, and then look..."

Half a day later, Napoleon raised his head from the stack of papers in pain. He forced himself to read the paper that was completely nonsense from beginning to end - it felt like forcing himself to eat a lot of shit.

"Shit, it's shit! Although this damn paper has a rigorous structure and looks like a normal paper, it is essentially shit! Even if it's made into chocolate, its essence is still shit!" Napoleon cursed angrily.

However, in terms of mathematics, Napoleon did not have the confidence that his math level could surpass Fourier's self-confidence. So, although he still felt that this paper was shit, it was just made into chocolate-shaped shit. But she decided to hurry up and find a few reliable people to take a look, so as not to be cheated by Joseph and the others in the end.

So Napoleon called his adjutant:

"You have to copy this paper several copies and give it to Mr. Laplace, Mr. Lagrang, and Mr. Monge. Then let them come to me the day after tomorrow."

The adjutant bowed and left, and Napoleon lowered his head again, looked at the paper "Lucine Evans" and couldn't help but mutter, "What the hell are you doing?"

Soon, Laplace, Lagrang and Monge all got the paper one after another and learned about the story here.

"Our Majesty is really true. When encountering something that is difficult to judge, I will just suppress it first and ask us. It is embarrassing to admit my mistakes now, not too big or small." After getting the paper, although I had not had time to read it, considering Napoleon's mathematical level and Fourier's mathematical level, Laplace made such an sigh without even reading it.

After saying this, Laplace sat down behind his desk, put on his glasses, and began to study the paper.

"Ah, is anyone going to challenge the fifth public again? This is one of the most famous problems since the introduction of "The Original Geometry". Can anyone really solve this?" Laplace became interested and continued to read carefully. But soon after, he changed his face like Napoleon.

"What is this? How can this be like this? This is totally nonsense, how could such a conclusion be achieved? It is completely incompatible with the real world. How dare Lucien Evans write such a strange thing? No wonder Napoleon believes that this paper cannot be passed. How can this kind of thing be passed? If it was written by my student, I would definitely hang him up and beat him. His Majesty Napoleon said in his comment that the only use of this paper is to throw it into the fireplace to make a fire, which is completely correct. But... But Fourier will not make a fuss about his reputation, and... Fourier may have a dean behind him. I will take a look, I will take a look..."

So Mr. Laplace forced himself to read the paper carefully again. Or rather, he forced himself to eat chocolate-like shit. However, Laplace was different from Napoleon after all, and he still found a little problem.

"Although the conclusion of this paper is ridiculous, there is no obvious loophole in the derivation process. What's going on? But how can there be no loophole? If this is correct, then the world will be incorrect! You can't say, I'm right, the world is wrong, right?" Laplace said to himself.

In several other places, Lagrang and Mr. Monge reached a conclusion similar to Mr. Laplace. That is: this paper is definitely wrong, so it should not be allowed to pass it. However, this paper is very wrong and cannot find any problems in the entire derivation process for the time being. But no matter what, this paper is definitely wrong, otherwise, can it be that the world is wrong?

On the third day, they came to the government together and discussed the paper with Napoleon. However, they still failed to find any problems with the paper in the derivation process.

"No, we were really wrong, right?" Napoleon felt a little guilty.

"Your Majesty, this may be a trap," said Laplace. "If you change your opinion now and then Mr. Fourier changes his opinion, how do you plan to defend this paper?"
