Chapter 3 Eat fish, eat fish, eat fish (Thanks to the four leaders)
In the darkness, the peach trees swayed gently and slapped the wall.
Inside the wall, Liu Taozi was looking at the knight in front of her.
Liu Taozi took a step back with her right foot, holding the harpoon in her right hand, and threw it with all her strength.
The knight stepped forward at the same time, and the harpoon scratched the knight's mask, making an unpleasant noise, and then fell to the ground.
And he had already caught Liu Taozi, who was tall and agile. The knight turned sideways, stretched out his left foot, and threw with all his strength.
Liu Taozi's scarred body flew out and landed heavily on the ground.
Then he became motionless.
The knight lowered his head, stared at Liu Taozi, walked a few steps, picked up the harpoon, and touched his mask.
He returned to Liu Taozi again, holding the broken harpoon, and stabbed it hard into the ground.
"peach!"
"Taozi, please don't scare me!"
"peach!!!"
A scream exploded in my ears.
Liu Taozi opened her eyes suddenly and grabbed the hand in front of her.
It was a warm and rough hand, and the flickering candlelight illuminated Liu Zhang's figure.
She was kneeling beside the couch, holding a bowl in her left hand. There were two traces of tears on her fair face. Under the candlelight, her tear traces were so clear, and equally clear was the helplessness and panic in her eyes.
She cried and hugged Liu Taozi into her arms.
"My son."
She seemed to want to push Taozi back into her body to protect her. Liu Taozi had never seen her mother use such force. She hugged herself tightly with both hands, but Liu Taozi couldn't move.
Liu Taozi's tense body relaxed.
"mom."
Hearing this sound, Mrs. Liu Zhang quickly let go of her hand and wiped the tears from her face in a panic, "It didn't hurt you, did it?"
"You kid, why did you climb over the back wall? I'll let you fall."
"Did you fall?"
Liu Taozi asked: "Did you see me fall from the courtyard wall?"
"No, I heard your falling figure. You were lying on the ground motionless. Do you know how close the harpoon was to your head! You almost..."
Mrs. Liu Zhang raised her hand as if to slap Tao Zi, hesitated for a while, and then put it down.
Her eyes shone with tears, and the tears fell again.
She asked in a pleading manner: "Don't do this again, okay?"
Liu Taozi's face softened a lot, and he nodded gently.
"Um."
Only then did a smile appear on Mrs. Liu Zhang's face. Her face did not match this dilapidated house at all. The room was very narrow, with several cracks on the gray earthen wall. The light was dim, and there was only one bed in the room.
Nothing.
And she has a delicate appearance and petite figure. When she smiles, the whole room lights up.
She picked up the bowl in her hand and held a wooden dagger in one hand, and gently handed the soup to Liu Taozi's mouth.
"Stop getting up and eat more."
Liu Taozi obeyed and opened her mouth and took a few bites.
The next moment, Liu Taozi realized something was wrong. He looked at the bowl and saw a few pieces of milky white meat.
"This is?"
"The fresh fish soup I just made for you, eat it while it's hot."
Mrs. Liu Zhang fed Taozi, finished the fish soup, explained a lot, and left.
After extinguishing the candle, the room fell into complete darkness. Liu Taozi listened to his weak breathing. After a long time, he slowly got up and groped his way to the door.
There was a miserable waning moon hanging in the sky, without stars.
Liu Taozi squinted her eyes and looked at her courtyard.
There are three huts in this dilapidated courtyard. Her parents live in the middle, Liu Taozi lives on the left, and the warehouse is on the right.
The courtyard was full of gray-white soil. There were no dogs, no chickens or ducks. It was empty. There was a long-withered peach tree, and next to it was a dark pit that exuded a fishy smell.
There is a cage on the roof, and you can hear the sounds of various birds singing from inside.
Liu Taozi calmly walked toward the backyard and came to the familiar back wall. There was a harpoon stuck deep in the ground.
Liu Taozi even felt for the drag mark on the ground.
In the darkness, the rushing sound of evil birds came from nowhere.
Liu Taozi was silent for a long time and returned to the house.
The next day, before dawn, Liu Taozi had already stood up and walked out of the door cautiously.
Carrying a brand new fishing spear, he quickly walked out of the courtyard.
It seemed to have rained last night, the ground was mostly muddy, and the peach trees outside my home were shaking off the raindrops on my body.
Liu Taozi's pace was very fast, and she strode forward without hesitation.
He passed through the peach forest, followed the path along the stream, and then plunged into the wild boar forest.
Soon, he was back near the trap.
Liu Taozi lowered his head.
The trap was empty, and there was no color or smell of blood in the dark soil.
Their bodies were all gone, and even the heavy armor, the smelly blood stains, and the broken branches along the road were also gone.
The insects and evil birds in the forest no longer made any noise, and the silence was eerie.
Liu Taozi stood for a while, then took long strides and walked all the way to the road.
The gravel road where we fought yesterday was also so clean, nothing happened.
In this deathly silence, Liu Taozi suddenly felt a chill.
And for some reason, he actually wanted to laugh.
When he returned home again, Mrs. Liu Zhang was lighting a fire to cook.
Taozi sat next to her mother.
He frowned, his expression stern.
"Bang!!!"
The man opened the courtyard door and barged in roughly. He was carrying a deer, his short clothes were stained with blood, and he had a big bow hanging on his waist.
He strode into the courtyard and threw the deer on his shoulder into the pit beside the dead wood.
His eye sockets were sunken, and his whole body was like a piece of cold, thin iron. He looked at Liu Taozi and threw the rusty dagger in front of him.
Ms. Liu Zhang stood up quickly, "You came back so early this time?"
The man ignored her, waved his hand tiredly, and walked into the house.
Liu Taozi picked up the dagger and came to the deer's side. He squatted down and skillfully peeled off the skin, cramps, and bones of the deer in front of him with an expressionless face.
The deer's blood flowed into the pit, and the pit instantly turned red, and the red color was particularly bright and thick.
At some point, Liu Da sat at the door of the main house, stretching out his legs and basking in the sun.
Mrs. Liu and Zhang prepared the meal, and the family of three gathered in the courtyard.
The fishy smell of blood did not affect Liu Da's appetite at all. He ate so roughly that he wanted to chew all the bones and swallow them.
Mrs. Liu and Zhang are more polite and eat in small bites.
Liu Taozi sat next to Liu Da and stared at the left side of his face.
"What do you think?"
"Are you coming from the Wild Boar Forest?"
"What can you catch in the wild boar forest this season?"
The atmosphere was uniquely silent and depressing.
After finishing the meal, Mrs. Liu Zhang put away the empty bowl and left the place in a hurry.
"I killed someone."
"Three Xianbei knights, including men and horses."
Liu Da had a straight face, and there was no change in his iron-like face. He almost made a sound from between his teeth.
"If you don't want your whole family to be buried with you, shut your mouth! Forget about this forever!"
"Who are you?"
"I am your father!!"
Liu Da stood up, his whole body began to turn red, like pig iron during smelting. He angrily tore off his collar, revealing the exposed scars.
"Bad things! Bad things! Damn things!!"
“Not a moment of peace!”
"Bullshit! Bullshit!!"
He was like a volcano about to erupt, with huge anger piled up in his chest. When he roared, he waved his hands as if to punch someone.
He tore at his chest again, trying to dig out all the anger.
Mrs. Liu Zhang came running.
"What? What's wrong?"
She hurriedly protected Tao Zi, who was a head taller than herself, behind her, and stuffed the package into Tao Zi's hand, "Send it for me, go quickly, go quickly."
She pushed hard a few times, and Taozi turned around and left.
After walking out the door, the roaring in the courtyard gradually subsided.
Liu Taozi carried the package and strode along the path leading to the village.
Tombs were erected on both sides of the road, surrounded by weeds.
There was a hole in the tomb, and traces of rats crawling could be seen vaguely.
Ahead is a lonely village.
The first two courtyards now only have broken eaves and broken walls, all charred black, with burnt door panels leaning against the walls. When you walk between the two courtyards, the rats in the courtyards scream and run away.
A path winds forward, with courtyards distributed on both sides of the path.
Most of them are in ruins, but there are a few that have been preserved, and you can see rising smoke.
The village is so quiet. Looking over it, not a single soul can be seen on the path.
Liu Taozi stopped in front of the fourth courtyard.
