Chapter 66 Overpass(1/2)

This "sky bridge" is not the overpass of that year, it is just an ordinary bridge. It was just because the emperor was allowed to walk here at the beginning, so it was called the overpass.

The Beijing Overpass was built in the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty. At that time, the overpass was called Zhengyang Bridge. Later, with the economic development, it gradually became a market.

In the early Ming Dynasty, we began to build overpasses for travel and viewing. The scenery on both sides of the bridge is amazing and beautiful. Especially the lotus pond, boats, and fish swimming under the bridge, which is also a paradise for writers and poets, and it is also a place for boys and girls to date. Such overpass reflects the prosperous scene between the Ming Dynasty.

Later, with the demise of the Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty, no one took care of the overpass. Slowly, the scenery beside the bridge was eclipsed and the glory of the past was faded. The lotus flowers were dried, the fish were dead, and the river water had receded, leaving behind a deserted scene. Gradually, both sides of the overpass began to be filled with soil, and houses and restaurants were formed on both sides. This transformation also marked the change of the times, and from then on the overpass began another scene.

Until the Qianlong period, the scenes on both sides of the overpass flourished, and the crowds were bustling, and the sounds of shouting and the figures of children running happily gradually developed into a downtown city.

Later, in the late Qing Dynasty, the overpass was closer to life and more friendly. Small merchants and hawkers gradually increased their houses, changing from downtown to markets, demonstrating the prosperous scene during the Qing Dynasty.

If we counted in history by counting with our fingers, the peak period would have been during the Republic of China, because a major reform occurred in the Tianqiao.

Due to the demise of the feudal dynasty, the vendors and houses on both sides of the original Tianqiao were undergoing large-scale transformation. The requirement was to be more in line with the characteristics of the time. Especially! Things that represent feudality must be demolished.

At the same time, schools, factories, singing and dancing theaters have been added to provide buildings suitable for people's lives. Overpasses have reached their peak, forming an integration of markets, entertainment and tourism.

The development of the overpass is no longer as simple as a building today, and it has become a symbol of historical evolution.

Zhou Wenzhong and Ma Erbao did not hear any hawking sounds. Some of them were just large wooden boxes standing on the bench. The craftsmen hid behind the box, holding two puppets in their hands, attracting the fun-watching children, but more were slaps from adults. They hit the children's butt eggs one after another.

"You have to pay 2 cents to look at the puppet? A movie ticket costs only 2 cents! Go back and grandma takes you to the cinema to play."

"Erbao, what's wrong with long benches in some open spaces? Are you enclosing the land?"

"That is the land where there is a master. It should be a big sword. I am afraid of hurting people, so I surrounded a piece of land with a bench."

"They have worked very hard and have to move the stool from home."

"What! This is a bench I borrowed from someone, look there."

Zhou Wenzhong looked in the direction Ma Erbao pointed, and piled up broken tables and long benches to more than 3 meters high.

"This is all the guy style from the street office. These two days have been lively, so that the craftsmen who set up stalls can use it casually. Anyway, these tables and chairs are not theirs. They will also be given to the meritorious personnel who came down from the battlefield."

"Oh. I don't think there are many people here, where are the monkey-playing people?"

"We came too early today. They haven't set up stalls yet. When I came here yesterday afternoon, there were more than 30 stalls."

"Then I won't go shopping. We have been together for so long at work, and I have nothing to give to you. It just so happened that my coal cost has not been done yet, and I don't have to take care of the supply of coal this month. Let's go and give you 20 kilograms of coal, but you have to pay for this money yourself."

"I...I don't know what to say. Brother Zhong, look at this..."

"Okay, let's go."

"Your matter...you see... I won't go for dinner tomorrow, and I have no shame to go."

"We brothers don't talk about this, let's go..."

Zhou Wenzhong put his hand on Ma Erbao's shoulder and the two walked for 25 minutes before they arrived at the coal purchasing station in Dongcheng District.

"What a big yard, beloved. It must have 10 acres of land, right?"

"Brother Zhong, don't sigh anymore. Those piles of coal mountains are coking coal, and the coal mountains in the west are carbon chips. They are all used in factories and restaurants. They are not the same as the coal cakes and briquettes we want to buy."

"Can I not be able to tell this?"

The two of them turned around and walked out of the coal station and came to a shop facing the street. There were coal stoves and tin chimney pipes in the room. There were fired furnaces piled up in the corners of the walls, arranged neatly according to sizes.

If you want to build a stove at home these days, you need to communicate with the masters in advance. Should you burn coal, firewood, and charcoal? Then, according to the size given by the master, you come to the coal station to buy the furnace of that size.

"Comrade, I'll apply for a coal purchase certificate."

"Where is the household registration book?"

"Give."

A staff member in his 30s blew his nose twice at the ground, spit out the cinder in his mouth, looked through his household registration book and looked at it.

"It's quite new."

"Well, the street office changed it."

"Click..."

"Okay, get your coal purchase certificate in hand. If you lose it, you have to issue a letter of introduction before you can re-issue it."

"I haven't bought the 20 kilograms of quantitative coal this month."

"We have sent the coals to Nanluoguxiang long ago. At that time, your family didn't want it. Who can you blame? Now I think about looking for me."

"Comrade, you misunderstood. Let's move it ourselves."

"Isn't it going to be over if I say that earlier."

The staff opened the coal purchase book and picked up the pen to write the two words "received". They also drew a diagonal line in the column of the date.

"How many levels of coal should I buy?"

Ma Erbao came over and replied, "First time."

"Thuh..."

"Take my notes and go to the station to buy them."

"thank you."

The staff waved their hands, blew their noses, wiped them on their legs, picked up the enamel jar and rinsed their mouths.

"Then let's go home first. Let's meet directly in the hotel tomorrow. Remember to drag Zhang Xiufang over to me. Your brother is leaving the fourth day of the lunar month, so let him come together tomorrow."

"Stop it! I'll be shameless enough to go to dinner by myself. If I take my brother over again, it's nonsense. Brother Zhong, please be careful under your feet."

“Haha~”

I walked along the way to [Jiaodaokou Street Office] and looked for the figure of Director Wang from the desks of more than 10 staff members.

"The leader is involved and asks you, is Director Wang here? Continue the next one."

Zhou Wenzhong handed over a large front door, pulled open the stool and sat down.

The staff took the cigarette and smelled it, opened the drawer and threw it in, turned his head and asked loudly, "Where has Lao Wang been?"

"have no idea."

"I guess I'll go to the countryside to pick up people."

"I'm going to pick up people just the day today? I went to Dashilan to deal with the couple's fight. I may not be able to come back in the afternoon."

The staff looked at Zhou Wenzhong and said, "You heard it all."

"It seems that I've been in vain today."

"What's the matter with Lao Wang? Tell me."

"Leader, let me tell you this. I have to slap my face in the face first."

"Bang..."

Zhou Wenzhong raised his left hand and patted his cheek with no slight or heavy weight.

"Don't do this, just talk about it if you have something to do. I won't do this now."

"Hey, the leader asked me to tell me and I'll tell you, I'll mention someone. Zhou Deming, do you know? It's the one who broke up a few days ago in Siheyuan No. 95."

"Ah! I know. This matter has spread widely."

"My name is Zhou Wenzhong. Do you need to say the rest? Come on, click on it."

Zhou Wenzhong took out a match and lit a cigarette for him, and made it back on the stool himself.

"Huh...what did your hospital liaison officer say?"

"I have used all the tricks I should think of. It's useless! Leader, tell me where Wang Ganshi lives at home? Even if it can't solve my problem, it's okay to find a place to cry!"

The staff looked at Zhou Wenzhong with a slanted look, as if I had seen you through it.

"Depending on your age, you came for the countryside, right?"

"Look! Leader, you wronged me."

Zhou Wenzhong quickly took out his household registration book from his arms, turned it over and pointed to the column of ethnic groups.

"If I want to make trouble, wouldn't I just go to Ma Ma? I asked the National Association to come forward to help me. I just don't want to make this big deal. Otherwise, the face of our entire street will be lost. I have to take into account the face of all the leaders. Do you think this is the reason?"

The staff took a deep breath of cigarette, pursed their lips and asked, "Do you know the story of Wu Song fighting the tiger?"

"Yeah, I must have heard of it."

"Do you know what day Wu Song will fight on the tiger?"

"Oh, listen carefully. No wonder you can be a leader. You will definitely increase your knowledge with you."

"Remember it clearly. Wu Song was a tiger he killed on February 7th."

"Is that so? Then I have to go home and read the books and check them carefully. Leader, you are busy, so I'll go home first."

"Go."

Zhou Wenzhong stood up and put away the stool, nodded at the staff.

"Your smoke!"

"I picked it up under your table, I don't know who left it. I've handed over it to my husband and left."
