Chapter 81 Hope of Destruction
The chief wizard was so angry that he was so straightforward that Brian said.
He looked at Brian, frowned slightly, and said with an unhappy expression, "You look very confident, Mr. Brian, I really can't understand what your confidence comes from."
"Yes, I have always been very confident." Brian heard the sarcasm contained in the other party's words. He smiled indifferently and continued, "My confidence naturally comes from you, that's all."
"From me?" the chief wizard chuckled, "You think you can see through me."
His slightly angry voice raised a little bit, "Do you really know me well? I really thought I would give you magic notes, which is so naive."
"Yes, my ideas are indeed naive," said Brian. "But sometimes, things that seem very complicated really need to be solved by naive people like me, what do you think."
"After all, if I'm not naive, I'm afraid you won't even give me a chance." He added, "Besides, even if I don't take the initiative to say anything, you can guess a rough idea. Since you have seen through it, what's the point of saying a bunch of compliments?"
"So, after my careful thinking, I still feel that the way of going straight is more effective." Brian looked at the chief wizard meaningfully, "because I have what the wizard needs most."
After saying that, he stared at the deep red eyes of the chief wizard, trying to peek into the unfathomable abyss of the soul.
Brian's eyes were firm and sharp, as if he wanted to cross the invisible barrier and reach the depths of the other person's soul.
Unfortunately, however, he failed to do so.
The Chief Master's emotions were like a quiet lake. No matter how hard he threw the stones in his heart, he could not stir up a ripples in his state of mind that was as calm as water.
That calmness and depth made Brian feel invisible pressure, and he also looked forward to the other party's reaction even more.
During this long silence, the two were like chess players confronting each other on the chessboard, each with different strategies and purposes, but both remained silent.
Brian knew that the chief wizard's patience was as outstanding as himself, and he knew that the silent contest had just begun.
And the reason why he is so confident is that he knows the value and ambition of the Chief Master.
He believed that although the other party was silent on the surface, he must be weighing the pros and cons in his heart and considering how to take advantage of this opportunity.
He even speculated that even if he didn't take the initiative to find the other party, the other party might take the initiative to come to him.
However, Brian didn't dare to be 100% sure about the other party's thoughts.
In order to save time and uncover the mystery of the game as soon as possible, he had no choice but to come to Gu Orence City in person to make a decision.
He believed that here, the roulette of fate would begin to turn, and the truth would gradually surface.
I don’t know how long it took, as Brian expected, the chief wizard finally couldn’t help but speak first:
"Well, I don't want to talk nonsense to you, nor do I want to have a meaningless fight with you. Let's get back to the point."
"I think so too, and I don't think it's such a glorious thing." Brian nodded slightly, agreeing.
"To be honest, from the moment you appeared in the city of Guorens, I had planned hundreds of years of plans and was completely disrupted by you."
The chief wizard sat quietly on the chair, his eyes penetrated the clouds and reached the sky, frowned, as if thinking about something important.
Finally, he sighed helplessly, and his voice revealed an indescribable sense of vicissitudes.
Brian felt that although his eyes were deep and bright, like the brightest stars in the night sky, there was a deep sense of fatigue and powerlessness floating in it.
His eyes seemed to be able to see through the essence of all things in the world, but he could not avoid being crushed by the heavy weight of fate. His slightly drooping shoulders seemed to carry the weight of the whole world.
His frown brows were also expressing endless worries and helplessness.
The air around seemed to be infected by the emotions of the chief master, becoming solemn and silent.
At this moment, he was no longer the noble chief wizard, but an ordinary mortal trapped by fate and exhausted physically and mentally.
His fingers gently stroked the staff in his hand, as if looking for some kind of power to support him to move forward, his eyes full of concern for the future and helplessness about reality.
The chief wizard sighed, like an old man in his late age:
"If it weren't for you, my plan might have been successful. After all, I have waited for so many years and finally saw hope, but it was completely erased by your appearance."
Brian could sense the deep sense of powerlessness towards fate by the Chief Master. Even so, he insisted on his own opinion and said, "I don't think so. Master Master, I think it's me who saved you."
He thought a little and then said, "As a powerful spellcaster, you cannot detect the power of the gods. You are not on the same level as us. Even the high-level legendary powerful people are just a stronger ant in their eyes, which is something that no one can deny."
"So, even if I didn't show up, I didn't destroy your plans." Brian said to the chief wizard, "You will be the final outcome. After all, the Spider God Queen is not as easy as she imagined."
"Although your words make some sense, if you don't show up, at least you can see a glimmer of hope for success in resistance." said the chief wizard, "Even if this hope is so small that it is negligible, at least there is a possibility of success. Even if I fail because of this, I will not regret anything."
"But it's different now." He looked up at Brian, "Your appearance has left me nowhere to be seen. You saved them, but destroyed me, and destroyed my hope. I have put hundreds of years of planning into it, and I have lost the meaning of living."
The chief wizard slowly stood up and looked through the window at the beautiful scenery of the ancient Orence City shrouded by strange demon fire. "In every drow elves city in the dark area, the power of the spider-ghost queen Rose is above everything else, making people live without any resistance. No matter how powerful the drow elves are, they are no exception."
"Forget it, it's no point to say this now." He sighed, sat back on the chair, his face calmed down, and said to Brian:
