Chapter 17 The existence of secret observation

When following Sergeant Noel to the second floor of the guard station, Ryan had been keenly observing the military configuration and terrain layout of the Tanggulam Gate.

According to common sense, the function of the Tanggulam Gate is to check the checkpoints of people coming and going between Kezhou and the Republic, and also bears a certain defensive role.

But in fact, this so-called defensive effect is first and foremost a joke.

If the Republic is determined to invade, the mixed airships and high-motor combat vehicles stationed in the city of Altaire on the border of the Republic can easily conquer the Tanggulam Gate, which is lacking in heavy weapons, without much effort.

Security checks are relatively important, but in the face of the unequal international status of both sides, people with slightly more identities in the Republic can cheat and enter directly, and the guards have no choice.

Crossbeer's law stipulates that neither the security forces nor the police station have any right to deal with citizens of the Republic and the Empire. At most, they will be arrested and educated and released.

The entire Dongulams were equipped with more than a dozen light armored vehicles and hundreds of guards. The position of the door itself was stuck in the center of the main road leading to the Dongulam hills to Crossbel. In theory, it was in a very favorable defensive position, but unfortunately...

Without letting Noel in front see the mockery in his heart, Ryan followed the other party to an iron gate on the second floor with a calm expression.

"Dongdong!"

Noel knocked on the door and reported loudly, "Deputy Commander, Noel Hika comes to report on the mission and has brought your guests there."

A soft and calm female voice came from inside the door, "Thank you, Sergeant Noel, bring him in."

"yes!"

As Noel opened the door, Ryan, who followed her into the office, finally saw the deputy commander.

The uniforms on the guards are not much different from those on Noel, and they are only more gorgeous in decoration.

Her long blue hair was combed very neatly, she only had the most basic light makeup on her face, and a pair of round-frame glasses were mounted on the bridge of her nose. Just looking at her appearance, who was about 30 years old, did not seem to have the iron blood that a soldier should have.

But the other party's awesome and majestic temperament added a lot of points to her, at least not like the woman who came to the stage with heavy makeup and nepotism as expected by Ryan.

Pushing the glasses on your nose, Deputy Commander Sonia stood up and greeted a standard guard. "I am Sonia Belz, Deputy Commander of the Closebell Guard. I'm not the mature beauty in your dress, I'm afraid you will disappoint you, right?"

"Forehead……"

Hearing the other party with a hint of vague banter, Ryan twitched slightly, "Where are you talking about it? You just fit my impression of a soldier."

‘Does this woman have a mind reading technique…’

Deputy Commander Sonia did not delve into it, and smiled slightly and sat back again. "You are Ryan, who just transferred to the branch of the Crossbell Guerrilla Association? Although I really want to find out your true identity outside of the guerrilla... but let's put it aside now."

Sonia said seriously in Ryan's somewhat stiff expression, "You may be wondering why our guards have to entrust the guerrilla association with things that our guards can obviously solve on their own."

"I'll just say it. Recently we received information that a smuggling gang of regular criminals from the Republic would enter Closebell. In order to investigate these smuggling smuggling gangs, we really couldn't get anyone."

"Smuggling gang? Recurring criminals?"

Ryan said with some confusion, "Doesn't the Republic should be required to strictly control the exit inspection? Such criminals with criminal records should be easy to investigate, right?"

Sonia sighed softly, "The reasons are quite complicated. In short, the Republic's inspection of taking a guided bus to the Crossbelt Autonomous Prefecture is not strict. It is precisely because of this that the autonomous prefecture becomes a paradise for smugglers."

‘Ha... Is the Republic secretly putting pressure on Kezhou?’

Ryan did not ignorantly poke the pain points of the guards. Sergeant Noel on the side had clearly seen that he was gritting his silver teeth.

"I understand. Then ask the deputy commander to tell me the specific situation of the street lights that need to be replaced and hand over the new street lights to me. I will try to return to the Dongulam Gate report within 1 hour."

Soria nodded steadily and said, "No problem, Sergeant Noel, you will be responsible for guiding you next. I will go to the checkpoint first."

"Yes! Deputy Commander, please go slowly!"

After Sonia left, Noel led Ryan to the warehouse of Dongulam Gate. The guards along the way were all ready for the inspection as if they were facing a great enemy. It seemed that they were really busy.

"There are five guiding street lights that need to be replaced, all on the Almolika Road, numbered 3, 7, 12, 18 and 25 respectively."

"Hold on."

Ryan took out the guerrilla manual and recorded the information given by Noel. "Okay, after changing the street lights, I should enter Almolika Village, and then take the guide bus to return to the Dongulam Gate. Will I ask Deputy Commander Sonia to deliver the mission?"

"Need not."

Noel shook his head, "The deputy commander will be very busy next time. I will hand over the task with you at that time. Please hand over the street lights to me."

"I understand, then I'll set out. Sergeant Noel, come on too."

"Yes! Please be careful along the way."

Ryan was quite helpless about this rigid beauty who likes to salute at any time. He shrugged and turned to walk outside the door of Dongulam.

‘By the way, Hicca… is this surname a coincidence? It is exactly the same as the last name of the lady next to the room where I live now.’

After checking in yesterday, Ryan’s first thing was to be close and neighborly.

There were two families living on the first floor of Yanghuai Village, one of which was a warm family of three, but what the young housewife said made Ryan a little concerned.

The other party's younger brother seemed to be a bad boy in the old city. Maybe he was among the members of the "Holy Book Club" and "Sword Snake Gang" that Ryan went to the old city yesterday.

The other family only lives with a widowed middle-aged woman named Clarice Hicka. When Ryan came to visit her yesterday, the aunt pulled him to chat for a while. It was nothing more than that her two daughters were promising and rarely went home recently.

It happened...Ms. Clarice mentioned that her eldest daughter works in the security team, while her second daughter chose to enter the police station.

‘It should be a family. Ask Sergeant Noel when you come back to hand in the mission later.’

Since the road had passed before, Ryan boarded the guide bus that happened to come to Tanggulam Gate. It took only a dozen minutes to arrive at the three-way intersection I had been there before.

Just as Ryan stepped towards the ancient Almolika Road to the north, on a hill that he did not notice, a giant wolf with a humanized wisdom flashing in his eyes was looking at him from a distance and showing a thoughtful expression.
