Chapter 433: The Great Way to Jane
actually……
No theory exists in isolation.
All things in the world themselves have inseparable relationships with each other.
As Wang Shouren, what he learned in the past was originally from Neo-Confucianism. Although to some extent, he questioned some theoretical basis of Neo-Confucianism, this does not mean that the new Neo-Confucianism is completely separated.
Just as Confucianism today comes from the Four Books and Five Classics, from the Saint Confucius. Although everyone claims that they are the authentic Confucianism, in fact, they have their own opinions and explanations. Is it because it is contrary to Confucius' true spirit that we are not disciples of saints?
The reason why Neo-Confucianism and New Studies are tense is not that there is really an irreconcilable hatred between the two theories. In fact, at least eighty percent of the understanding of things is actually coincidental. The only difference is that the remaining twenty percent.
The problem is here. Without Neo-Confucianism, it will naturally not be possible to achieve new learning, because new learning itself emerged on the basis of old learning.
Just like the geocentric theory, when it appeared, it was once the truth that people regarded as the norm. However, without geocentric theory, how could the heliocentric theory be born? People accepted the heliocentric theory, but they could not say that Crodis Ptolemy, who proposed the geocentric theory, was a fool of the sky. No, people still regarded him as the master of astronomy and geography, and the founder of the mountain. Even Copernicus, who initially questioned the geocentric theory, dared not say that his creative thoughts on astronomy popped up from the cracks of stones, and among them, they must have been influenced by Crodis Ptolemy's astronomy.
By the same token, Fang Jifan was a human being for two generations.
It is easier for him to look at this dispute objectively. Is the new academic and Neo-Confucianism really the same as the water and fire? Perhaps just like the geocentric theory and the heliocentric theory, yes. But there is a relationship of mutual influence and inheritance in this. And the reason why in history finally reached the same level of the same power and fire is essentially not the dispute between knowledge, but more about the party's struggle against differences.
Humans are the most political animals. They can distinguish countless enemies and us by using religion, nation, doctrine, and origin. Then, everyone forms a group and attacks each other.
In history, the emergence of the Wangxue School soon led to countless schools, including the King of Zhejiang, the King of Southern China, the King of Chu, the King of Fujian and Yue, the King of Northern China, the King of Taizhou, etc.
Each school understands the study of mind based on its own understanding. Some schools believe that the essence of Wangxue lies in the fact that the movement and stillness are not mindful, and forget both inside and outside. After combining this Wangxue , it turns Wangxue into Neo-Confucianism and into Taoism with the purpose of improving one's own cultivation.
Some schools also believe that the so-called conscience is different from knowledge. Conscience is the nature of heaven's destiny, and the most good ones. Knowledge is the use of conscience, and there are good and evil ones.
It is also the so-called mind as the essence. Therefore, they believe that heaven is clear by the mind, earth is observed by the mind, things are created by the mind, and all things originate from the mind.
Of course, the above regards the study of mind as a kind of philosophy.
On the other hand, the Taizhou School has the greatest influence. The Taizhou School believes that what Wang Shouren pursues is the way to govern the country and ensure national security. Wang Xue should not be like Neo-Confucianism, but just a simple Taoism, and should not just pursue the philosophy of people's inner spiritual world. Therefore, they proposed that "the people are used as the Tao", that is, the daily needs of the people are the foundation of the way of saints. Most of their students come from the bottom of society, some are farmers, some are woodcutters, some are tiles, and some are blacksmiths. Therefore, they proposed that everyone is a gentleman, and the streets are saints; common people are not inferior, and marquis and kings are not higher equality; at the same time, they advocate the practical use of the world.
Even later, this school proposed the idea that "no father and no lord are not killing father and king" in this era is enough to cut off the head.
What is a new learning? Some people in later generations regard it as philosophy. Fang Jifan even met many supporters known as Wang Yangming in his previous life. When he mentioned Wang Yangming, he immediately shook his head and talked about his heart and nature.
But what is the reality? Is new learning really philosophy?
Fang Jifan pinched his nose and admitted it. That's right, the new learning was indeed derived from Lu Jiuyuan's philosophy.
But learning is definitely not philosophy. Wang Shouren spent his whole life looking for ways to govern the country and ensure stability. He was a bamboo, he practiced bow and horse, and went to the border town to inspect. He studied military tactics. He used his eyes to observe things, trying to find solutions to problems again and again.
What he pursued was the supreme Confucian concept, the so-called era of great governance.
As a result, his knowledge, in the eyes of future generations, was distorted into the study of the mind and nature, the so-called mind is the world.
Fang Jifan also recognized the Taizhou School even more. Although these turtle grandsons of the Taizhou School actually advocated no monarch or father, to defeat the lovely Emperor Hongzhi and to be equal to our Fang Jifan, Fang Jifan at least understood that those guys who hid in their study, whether they were pursuing things to seek knowledge or everything had the heart, in essence, these people were the same way, nothing more than hiding, thinking that the doctrine of saints was very high, very good. I wanted to pursue the great perfection of my life.
So what about this?
The essence of Confucianism lies in entering the world. After all, it is inseparable from governing the country and pacifying the world. Without this pursuit, is it still Confucian?
Fang Jifan took out the portrait of Zhu Xi. The reason was very simple. It was a human being, not a theory. In Neo-Confucianism, there was a group of nerds who were full of things to study. In the future, in the new school, there would be a large group of scumbags who usually talked about their hearts and hearts, and kneeled down to sell the king.
Fang Jifan didn't care about Neo-Confucianism or New Learning, he really didn't care at all. Instead of letting these scholars use theories as tools to criticize the other party.
So... it would be better, I'm sorry, everyone here, I'm also a disciple of Master Zhu. New learning has a heritage. Without Neo-Confucianism, how can I get a new learning?
only……
Everyone was confused.
Even Wang Shouren did not expect that, and his mentor turned around and sold himself.
But... it's an exaggeration to say that selling is just... it's obvious that I have already gained the upper hand, and this is a mess...
OK, I'm used to it.
Wang Shouren had no expression on his face and no sense of incongruity on his face. This is his mentor.
“…”
Wen Suchen was about to spurt out his old blood.
I've never seen anyone play like this.
You, Fang Jifan, claim to be the inheritor of Neo-Confucianism, then...what am I?
Fang Jifan said sternly: "Wen Suchen, what are you still standing here?"
You can't kneel, you must not kneel.
Wen Suchen sneered in his heart: "I want to ask for a few more questions."
He decided not to get involved with Fang Jifan.
This guy clearly wanted to pull himself to the same level as him and then fight between the two sides.
He is shameless. He is a great scholar and he is shameless. Once he gets involved with him, he will lose.
Therefore, he still stared at Wang Shouren: "So, Wang Editor has thoroughly comprehended the way of the saint."
This sentence is amazing, it depends on whether you, Wang Shouren, is humble or not.
Wang Shouren nodded: "The way of a saint does not require meditation."
"Oh? Is the so-called saint's way so superficial?" Wen Suchen seemed to have found Wang Shouren's key points all at once.
Wang Shouren smiled: "The saint's heart is profound and profound. But the saint's learning must be simple and easy to understand. The knowledge in the Four Books and Five Classics is actually not difficult. The so-called great way is simple. Confucius had 72 disciples, from ministers to peddlers and pawns, who all comprehend the way of the saint. So, how could the way of the saint be complicated? The saint's learning is originally simple. If it is not simple and difficult to understand, just like Buddhist scriptures and Taoism, then I dare to ask, what is the meaning of the saint's teachings?"
“…”
"So, I have comprehended the way of the saints. Many of the people here have comprehended the way of the saints, and everyone knows why the way of the saints is."
Wen Suchen laughed: "Then I would like to ask, what is the way of a saint?"
"The way for the people to live and work in peace and contentment is the way of the saints."
“It’s that simple again?”
"Yes." Wang Shouren nodded again.
He said in a pleasant way, and everyone held their breath: "What the saints pursue is just great governance, and that's why we admire the saints. Therefore, the people's food and use are the Tao! What we have learned throughout our lives is nothing more than to make the people have clothes and food. What we have been seeking throughout our lives is the prosperity of the country, the peace of the people, and the barbarians. Isn't this the so-called benevolent government and the people-oriented?
Wang Shouren showed surprisingly calm: "In the past, thousands of wise men were pursuing education to transform the world, but on the other hand, they made the way of the saint awkward and difficult to understand. Not only did scholars not understand, but ordinary people were also confused. However, they did not know that the so-called teaching of the saints itself was to make the truth simpler. The simpler the more they could be implemented. After the students said so much, Mr. Wen must still be a little confused, but this is not important. Students might as well ask everyone to move around and see something, and the way of the saint is hidden in it."
Everyone became surprised.
Is the way of a saint hidden in something?
So they followed Wang Shouren out of the tea shop.
After walking more than 500 steps, a huge waterwheel appeared in front of everyone's eyes.
Wang Shouren pointed at the water wheel: "Everyone, have you seen the water wheel? This is the way of the saint."
Everyone started to whisper.
This...is the way of the saint?
Wen Suchen blushed and scolded: "Wang Shouren, do you humiliate me like this?"
"No." Wang Shouren shook his head and said, "The student is not humiliating the gentleman, but... this water wheel does contain the avenue of the saints."
……………………
This chapter is long-winded, but if you want to cut it, you still have to think about it. Some readers are scolding and talking about idealism. Therefore, the tiger must explain Wang Shouren's mind study and the views of various schools. Among each school, the understanding of Wang Shouren is different. There is the Taishan School that is practical, and there is also the philosophical theory that the mind is the reason, and everything moves with the heart.
How to say, any theory has its own understanding. What the tiger understands is more inclined toward the Taizhou School, so the simplest way actually corresponds to the Taizhou School’s streets full of saints; the sameness corresponds to the Taizhou School’s idea of equality, and more inclined toward the study of practical use.
Of course, many so-called people who regard Wang Xue as philosophy and believe that the mind is the reason are actually very disgusted with the Taizhou School and believe that this is not authentic at all.
Well, everything is up to you. Tiger's understanding of the study of the heart is the view of the Taizhou School. This school is the least qualified among the various schools of study of the study of the heart, and it has exposed many problems. Many of them are even different from Wang Shouren. But I think that if Wang Shouren was alive, Wang Yangming, who had great ambitions since childhood, had been on the horse and bent his bow and calmed down the horse, would prefer this proposition.
