Chapter 120 Trial Heat

The draft is approaching, and the rookies are all busy trying out for their respective teams.

As the trial progresses and some news obtained from the previous joint trials, many real data from rookies have emerged one after another, and the draft picks have become more and more innovative.

The biggest fluctuation is Perry Jones, a rookie who unexpectedly announced his candidacy, has fallen from the No. 1 pick due to poor trial performance and is now on the verge of lottery. There are reports that he is likely to eventually withdraw from this year's draft.

The opposite situation belongs to Tristan Thompson, a freshman from the University of Texas. Because of his performance in both joint trials and team trials, he has risen sharply from the first round lottery and has now reached the top six and even competed for the top three.

(Note: Harrison Barnes, Salinger and others have confirmed that they will not participate in the 2011 NBA Draft.)

The changes brought about by the trial training can be seen.

On June 19, there were still ten days before the draft. Tang Tian participated in the Heat trial with some other rookies under the arrangement of Feigan.

Generally, popular rookies, such as Irving and Derek Williams, only have one person to try out, and they may even try out several teams to watch on the sidelines at the same time.

However, the trial that Tang Tian participated in was the opposite. There were many people to choose from at the 31st pick, so there were more than a dozen players participating in one trial.

Among these people, Tang Tian also saw many familiar figures.

Norris Cole, a senior at Cleveland State University, is 77 kilograms tall and weighs 1.88 meters tall and weighs 77 kilograms. He is a thin point guard. He averaged 21.7 points, 5.3 assists, 5.8 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game this past season. The data is gorgeous, but Cleveland State University has not been shortlisted for the Championship this year.

Jordan Hamilton, a sophomore at the University of Texas, weighs 100 kilograms at 2.01 meters tall. Like Tang Tian, he has a standard small forward in the NBA. He has averaged 13.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in the past season, and ranked first in the team in three-point shooting percentage and hits, and helped the team reach the Sweet Sixteen Championships.

Shelwin Mark, the core of Butler University, is familiar with this Tang Tian. He was very careful in the finals. He was 1.91 meters tall and 94 kilograms of weight. He was the same kind of small cannon. He averaged 16 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in the past season.

Taylor Honeycart, a sophomore in UCLA, is only 85kg tall at 2.03 meters tall. He has a thin front line and excellent defense. He has extraordinary wingspan and excellent athletic ability. He can contribute 7.2 rebounds and 2.06 blocks per game. Because he performed well in his previous trial training, his pick has been rising.

...

It can be seen from the candidates selected by the Heat to participate in the trial that their goal this year is clear: either choose a point guard or a striker.

This is completely reasonable. The Heat's loss last year has a lot to do with the weak point guard position. As for the striker, James and Wade have always lacked such players.

Seeing the competitors in the trial training, Tang Tian’s confidence became more.

Take Hamilton and Honeycart for example. The former three-pointers are good, but the defense is not good in the NCAA, not to mention the NBA level. Honeycart is just the opposite. It has good defense, but is not good at outside shooting.

To put it bluntly, they either have only 3 or only D.

Perhaps their athletic ability is better than Tang Tian in other aspects, but what the Heat want is obviously not in this regard.

The trial training is divided into three parts.

The first part is the basic ability display, shooting, dribbling, passing, and some basic physical tests, such as standing and touching height, sprinting height, turning back and running.

In this part, Honeycart and Hamilton performed very well in their respective fields.

The second part is a one-on-one challenge, and the players compete with each other.

Tang Tian began to show his strength in this link. After increasing his shooting speed, his three-pointer made the opponent unable to defend. Of course, what is more eye-catching is his defense.

Those who faced him, including Hamilton and Honeycart, were both players in the end or second round of the first round. Their strength was one level weaker than Irving and Derek Williams he had met before, and they were very embarrassed by him.

Only Cole, a thin point guard, has an absolute advantage in speed and beat him, and everyone else lost to Tang Tian in the one-on-one battle.

"Who is that? That yellow man." The player was trying out, and no one noticed that James, the Heat's core core, had just passed by the training hall. After watching for a while, he couldn't help but ask the trainer Mancias beside him.

"I don't know, I'll go in and ask." People come to try out every day. It's impossible for Mancias to know everyone. After he went in, he walked directly to David Fitzdale, the assistant coach of the team who was in charge of the trial.

James nodded, instead of leaving immediately, he went in and found a seat to sit there, biting his nails and looking interested.

After the second part of the trial training, the third part was soon entered, and the whole game was confronted.

The confrontation was divided into two groups, Tang Tian and Cole were divided into one group, Mark, Hamilton, and Honeycart were divided into one group.

The temporary team did not have much tacit understanding, and the offensive end was entirely based on the players' respective strengths.

After the opening of both sides, Cole and Mark were basically fighting.

The players on Mark's side have better overall talent, and they have been fighting against Tang Tian and the others.

When Mark's attack caused Cole to foul on the free throw line, Tang Tian took the initiative to pull Cole to chat from the outside.

When he was on the side attack again, Tang Tian took advantage of Kerr's open three-pointer and made a quick shot.

Players do not have enough tacit understanding on the offensive end, and the same is true on the defensive end. Simple cooperation is very effective in this kind of game.

After scoring the goal, the players who did not play on the sidelines couldn't help but cheer, and the counterattack from the weak side always attracted attention.

James was a little bored and was about to leave. He looked at the field when he heard the shouts.

Tang Tian stole Hamilton in defense and passed the ball to Cole. Cole made a layup with one-stop fast break.

Mark's throwing response failed. When he arrived at the frontcourt, Cole and Tang Tian played pick-and-roll cooperation. Cole passed the ball back to Tang Tian's open three-pointer to the top of the arc and then made another move.

After an 8-0 offensive, Tang Tian and the others immediately pulled the situation back.

James raised his eyebrows and, before he could finish asking Mancias, got up and walked over.

"LeBron." Fitzdale saw James coming and greeted him with a smile.
