Chapter 12 Letter from Moon Shadow Island

The next morning, Ogata got up and went downstairs to run. His body was strong and solid, which was related to his regular exercise over the years.

Japanese people are used to sleeping in the morning. Because they lack exercise, they have weak constitutions. Along the way, they only saw a few elders walking, but they were not like when they were in New York. There were already many young people running and exercising at five or six in the morning.

After running around the streets around the office for about half an hour, Okabaya wiped the sweat beads of overflowing from his forehead with the towel he carried with him, slightly unzipping the zipper of the Adidas sportswear he was wearing, and let the cool morning breeze penetrate his pores.

Today, Ogata had nothing to do as usual. He planned to say goodbye to his relaxed and leisurely life now. The day after tomorrow, he went to the Metropolitan Police Department to apply for an autopsy unit under the Search Department. Since he had the recommendation of Officer Mume and his absolutely qualified education, it was not difficult to accept it.

When Ogata had enough time to go back, he was passing by a vending machine and found a young man investing coins, hesitating about what drink he should choose.

Hum? A light flashed in Okaga's eyes, and he slowly walked towards the man because he felt a violent aura in his mouth and nose breathing. This situation was an unlucky sign for him who had seen many murders.

"Which drink are you hesitating to choose?" Okabaya came to the young man and said with a smile.

The man looked at him after hearing this, thinking that he had chosen so long that he had delayed Okaga's time, and said embarrassedly: "Sorry, I'll be fine soon."

As he said that, the man chose a bottle of hot coffee, and Ogata said strangely: "You should prefer Coke, right?"

"Well, I used to love drinking very much, but I was a racing driver, so I must avoid it. Then again, how did you know that I like Coke?" the young man asked in a slight surprise.

Okabaya replied lightly: "I observed that your eyes were always on Coke, and from the eyes, it seemed like you were recalling things."

"Oh?" the young man said with great interest: "Are you a detective?"

Okabaya shook his head: "I am a forensic doctor."

"It's rare to see a forensic doctor with such a keen observation." The man smiled bitterly. This result was really hard to guess.

Okabaya looked at him and smelled the familiar smell. The anger was constantly suppressing the qi, and finally left a sentence: "Be careful, my friend."

......

When I returned to the office, I found that Xiaolan seemed to be packing up her things, while Uncle Maori, who had always slept until very late, was more energetic and seemed to be changing into a suit to go out.

"Is there anything to deal with so early?" Okata asked strangely by putting down the towel, taking off his coat.

Xiaolan explained: "Dad received a letter from the client this morning and also received a call from him, saying that he would ask his father to arrive at Yueying Island as soon as possible, where murders will occur, so cousin, you should also prepare quickly and take a boat to Yueying Island later."

"Oh?" Okata was confused, so Kogoro Mouri complained, "Damn it, I hung up the phone before I finished speaking, but fortunately the cost of hiring me, a famous detective, had already been transferred to the bank card."

Conan, who was beside him, rolled his eyes. Seeing his appearance and Maori's rapid dressing change, he knew that he must have made a fortune, otherwise he would not be so anxious.

When he returned to the room, Okata felt that he needed to go for a walk along. Anyway, he would have nothing to do later, and he had a strong interest in the murder case.

I simply changed into the shirt and casual pants I like to wear. Ogata and Maori family, as well as Conan, who was wearing glasses, took a taxi and rushed to the dock to take a boat.

.....

On the ship heading to Yueying Island, Okata felt the oncoming sea breeze and breathed a slightly fishy and salty sea breeze. He was much more refreshing. He stood on the deck of the stern, through the railings, below it was a golden sea shining in the sun, ripples and waves.

In his hand was the letter from Kogoro Mori handed him to him, and it used strange words to introduce their purpose to the Tsukikage Island this time.

"On the next full moon night, shadows will disappear again on Moonshadow Island. Please investigate the reason, Keiji Aso." Okata's eyes swept over the contents of the letter. In order to cover up the font, the employer specially used clipping to send this letter, which seemed very mysterious.

Kogoro Maori was still complaining about the sudden investigation of him at Tsukikage Island, while Koran and Conan were chatting aside. Okata looked at the letter and thought in his heart.

"The other party is so mysterious, and..." Okao noticed that the name of Kogoro Mori in the letter was "you", not you. Obviously, it was not as the bearded uncle said, that the other party trusted his reputation as a famous detective.

The ship had been sailing for a long time. Okata looked at the distance and gradually cleared the clouds and mist, and an island located on the sea surface. He sniffed it gently. In addition to the salty smell of the sea breeze, he seemed to smell a strange smell.

"That's Tsukishashima." Kogoro Mori said to Okata, who nodded and responded.

Yueying Island is not a big island, but the scenery on the sea level is very good. There are seagulls wandering on the blue sky. According to Okata's understanding from Mori, this island is not a good place for vacation and tourism, but a place for residents, like a county town.

The ship gradually approached and also unveiled the veil of Yueying Island. Looking at the houses, Okabaya saw that Xiaolan's face was not very good, and she might have been a little seasick. She took out chocolate wrapped in candy paper from her pocket and handed it to her.

"Eat a little bit and it will be much better." Okabaya smiled slightly. Ran Maori didn't expect his cousin to be so careful and his face turned slightly red.

Seeing this, Conan, who was standing beside him, suddenly spoke in a childish manner: "Brother Ogata, I want it too."

Okara smiled. He fumbled his pocket and found the same chocolate to give it to this very good actor. He said, "It's almost time to dock, don't forget the things."

"Yes." Xiaolan nodded.

After the ship was docked at the dock, in order to implement the case investigated as soon as possible, Ogata and his group decided to go to the relevant departments of Tsukikage Island to ask Keiji Aso because the island does not have a large population, it is logically easy to find out.

Koran held Conan's hand, and Kogoro Mori walked in the front, Ogata followed closely behind. He looked at these houses and buildings and saw that the residents on the island lived and worked in peace. In fact, the simpler and more ordinary life was, the less worries he had.

If that hadn't happened, he wouldn't have chosen to be a forensic doctor, nor would he come to this world... Okabaya sighed in his heart, adjusting his mood, and not being so heavy.
