88. I want to introduce talents and technology from Sweden

After the formation of a unified national taxation and law, the Swedish Kingdom's strength increased greatly. At the same time, Sweden began to expand externally, and quickly conquered Finland's southwestern coastal areas, and continued to expand to the southeast.

Later, in order to fight against the powerful Hanseatic League (the Hanseatic League was a commercial and political alliance formed between northern German cities) in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, in 1397, Denmark, Norway and Sweden held a meeting in Kalmar in southeastern Sweden and decided to establish the Kalmar Alliance led by the Danish royal family. From then on, Sweden and Norway surrendered to the rule of the Danish king, but Sweden retained its status as a king.

Although the Three Kingdoms established the Kalmar League, Sweden and Denmark were in disagreement. During the alliance period, conflicts between the Swedes and the Danes continued to occur.

It is now 1445, and the Swedes chose to come to Lisbon for a visit at this moment. Tim also guessed their intentions. I guess they were trying to convince Portugal to support their independence movement this time?

If the Swedes had such an intention, then at this time we have to mention the Kingdom of Denmark.

The Kingdom of Denmark was also very powerful three hundred years ago. At that time, the Danish king Knut the Great was extraordinary. He once led his troops directly to the English Channel and captured the entire territory of England, and established a territory including Norway, England, most of Scotland and southern Sweden. Unfortunately, this empire collapsed in 1042.

After the mid-12th century, Denmark King Waldma I created a powerful monarchical feudal dynasty, and occupied Estonia, the area north of the Elbe River and the Island of Gotland through war of aggression, and the strength of the Denmark Kingdom expanded again.

In 1397, the Nordic countries held a Kalmar Conference in Sweden under the proposal of Queen Margaret I of Denmark and under the auspices of the presidency. The meeting agreed that Denmark, Sweden and Norway formed an alliance, and that Denmark was in a dominant position.

"Then the three Nordic countries at this moment should still be dominated by the Denmark-led Kamal Alliance." Looking at the map, corresponding to history, Tim said softly.

He remembered that the Kalmar League seemed to have maintained it for 126 years. During this period, Greenland, the former Norwegian territory, and the Faroe Islands, were transferred to the jurisdiction of Denmark. Later, Denmark continued to expand externally to break the Hanseatic League's economic dominance over the Baltic Sea and began to launch wars against it. After a long war, it successfully annexed Schleswig and Holstein.

However, the long-term war also consumed a lot of financial resources in Denmark, resulting in increased taxes and the annexation of land by the rich and nobles, causing peasant riots. In other words, the Denmark Kingdom is not good at this moment, with domestic social unrest, economic recession and destruction, and people's hearts are particularly unstable. It can be said that it is no longer as glory as before.

After carefully analyzing the power comparison between the Kingdom of Denmark and the Kingdom of Portugal, Tim was completely relieved. Even if the Kingdom of Portugal is used to compete with the Kingdom of Denmark, it would be worth it. Since that is the case, it would be necessary to interfere in the Nordic matters.

"Let the Swedish envoy come in." Thinking of this, Tim immediately agreed to the meeting.

"Let's go." Warren Groot stopped the messenger who was about to run out. He turned to Tim and said, "Your Majesty, Sweden obviously wants to drag us into the trouble of Nordics at this moment. Nordics are far away from us. This is too unpaid. And you have also said that we will not participate in the European continent in the future. Why are you going to make an exception today? Naples has already given us a headache, and this is a Sweden."

Warren Groot is very clear about the matter in Nordic. At this moment, Nordic is divided equally with Denmark. Sweden, as a vassal state of Denmark, is obviously intending to pull Portugal to fight against Denmark. Although Denmark is not as strong as France and other countries, it is not afraid of it, but it has been strong before and has a foundation. Therefore, Warren Groot believes that Portugal really does not need to fight with Denmark and consume the power of the Portuguese Kingdom in vain.

Thinking of this, he advised Tim again: "Your Majesty, our country is surrounded by threats from Castile, Morocco, Aragon and other countries, and the Mediterranean commerce is also competitive with the Venetian Republic. We are already in trouble."

Tim blinked and smiled: "I have considered all these, but this time I must make an exception again. Don't worry, except for Naples and Sweden, I will never interfere in the European continent anymore."

After sorting out his emotions, Tim asked Warren Groot: "You said, which countries and regions in Europe have the most advanced shipbuilding industry and the best quality ships built?"

"The shipbuilding technology is the most advanced and the ship quality is the best. That should be our three countries, Portugal, Venice and Sweden." Warren Groot thought carefully before saying.

"Yes, which region is the most developed handicraft industry?" Tim asked again.

Warren Groot thought about it and replied: "It should be the Netherlands, the Republic of Venice and Sweden."

Tim continued to ask: "Which country is the developed country of mercenaries and weapons manufacturing technology?"

"Swedish mercenaries, Swedish artillery and Swedish warships." After hearing Tim's words, Warren Groot answered in a daze. Why did he forget the terrifying existence of Swedish mercenaries?

Looking at the expressions of Warren Groot and others, Tim snorted coldly: "In the past, Sweden was a country that was specially used to serve as mercenaries abroad to make money. I won't mention the combat effectiveness of Swedish mercenaries. Even their loyal and responsible attitude is not available to any country's mercenaries. They can fight with their compatriots for the interests of their employers, so these are the reasons why I want to make an exception for Sweden this time."

"Also, Swedish handicrafts, shipbuilding and weapons manufacturing technologies are all very developed, and these are what we lack. Do you think Sweden can bring us great benefits?" Tim said with a squinted eyes and smiled slightly.

Talent is a must for a country to take off, and in this era, Sweden's manufacturing technology is ahead of Europe at this moment, so Tim plans to form an alliance with Sweden no matter what, and then take the opportunity to get all their talents over at a high price.

I believe that those Swedes will be moved in the face of high prices. There is no way. Who let Sweden live in the cold Scandinavia? There are ice and snow, all material information is lacking, and people's lives are in a difficult situation. Whether they can eat enough is a problem, let alone have a lot of wealth.
