324, fortunately there are currently no competitors

The first large-scale territorial expansion in Cape Town occurred in 1657, when the East India Company distributed farmland along the Risbeck River to Xiapu Cultivation in an attempt to increase crop yields, but still retained financial dominance.

In the same year, the first slaves introduced from Java and Madagascar began to work for them. In 1658, the Europeans began to engage in territorial conflicts with the local indigenous peoples, and they seized the land of the Xhosa people.

Later, in 1666, the first military base, Good Hope Fortress, was rebuilt on a wooden fortress built by Van Ribeck, in 1679. It is now the oldest building in South Africa.

In 1679, Simon van der Stell, the first Dutch governor, arrived in Cape Town and replaced Van Ribeck as a local leader. His commitment to growing grapes and making wine laid a major foundation for this important industry in the future. On the other hand, he was also committed to expanding the boundaries and territories of the colonies.

In 1688, the first non-Dutch immigrants came to Cape Town, the Huguenots who were persecuted in the French anti-Protestant movement. The East India Company provided them with residence and farmland, and they also made significant contributions to the future development of wine.

With the increasing number of immigrants in other places, Cape Town had an immigrant population of 5,510 Europeans and 6,729 slaves by 1754. But in 1780, Britain and France began their war, and the Netherlands, as French partners, also joined the war, so France sent a small army to Cape Town for defense.

But then the army was withdrawn in 1784, and France invaded the Netherlands in 1795, causing the Dutch East India Company to fall into a serious financial crisis. At that time, the Dutch prince who established the Dutch Batavian Republic fled to Britain for protection.

This incident brought a major opportunity for success for Britain. At that time, news was not well developed, and European news often took a long time to spread to Africa. Therefore, the head of Cape Town was not clear about the situation in Europe, only knowing that France had seized some land in the Netherlands, so the Netherlands might just change its position in the war.

At this moment, the British military brought a letter of authorization that claimed to be written by the Dutch prince to demand a garrison in Cape Town as a way to protect. While arguing with Cape Town officials whether they should believe them, the UK suddenly launched the Battle of Masonberg, successfully occupying Cape Town and immediately declared Cape Town to be a free port.

After controlling Cape Town, the British successfully controlled India and East Asia with Cape Town as their base. In other words, Cape Town is an important cornerstone for the British to dominate the world. Without Cape Town's support, Britain's status would be greatly reduced.

Looking at the land of Cape Town, Tim had long promoted Cape Town's status to the same status as the capital Lisbon. In other words, in his lifetime, other places could be lost, but Cape Town must retain absolute control.

Because the valley terrain of Cape Town makes them a rich place for a group of top-notch fruits, such as apples, grapes, oranges, etc., the most famous for grape planting technology. Cape Town has developed winemaking industry since the Dutch lived there, so the quality monitoring of grapes is very rigorous.

Cape Town is also very rich in fishing catches, and its coastal areas are one of the richest fishing production in the world. The Bengra cold current in the Southern Atlantic Ocean flows through this place, making the catches very high in quantity and nutrition.

Tim also attaches great importance to fishery resources. This natural and cost-effective resource is still very helpful to the prosperity and development of the country.

For example, the Netherlands, known as the "sea coachman", made a fortune through herring and eventually became the center of the world's economy. Therefore, you must not underestimate any resources that can be used, otherwise it will easily be captured by competitors and will cause you a fatal blow.

Fortunately, it is November 1448. At this moment, a number of countries on the European continent are still struggling in the medieval ignorance. They have no extra eyes or energy to look at the oceans and overseas worlds. After the successful merger of the Kingdom of Portugal and the future Kingdom of Spain into the Kingdom of Nepton, the potential opponents of this era have been strangled in the cradle. It can be said that at this moment, no European opponents are in the most direct competition with Tim.

Of course, if you have to have an opponent, it is probably the Ottoman Turkish Empire, which has the traditional Silk Road and the Gulf of Aden maritime trade route. There is nothing we can do about it. After all, the Ottoman Turks are unique and this advantage cannot be compared.

Thinking of this, Tim only felt that his life was very hard. Murad II, the monarch of the Ottoman Turkish Empire, was enjoying life easily at this moment, but he had to fight for his life to open up a new route. The gap was so sour.

However, when I thought that I could soon break the blockade of the Ottoman Turkish Empire, Tim was immediately happy. Although he had walked a little more, it was all worth it.

Thanks to the help of the sufficient forest resources in the Cape Town area, just half a month has passed, the Cape Town area has built docks, houses and some basic military defense facilities.

"Well, your actions are much faster than I expected. Since the commercial port has been built, we can consider leaving as soon as possible." Looking at the fruits of everyone's labor, Tim felt relieved: "By the way, let the soldiers put more stones and wood on the empty ship, and after loading these things, we can set off."

"Your Majesty, why are you pretending to be these things?" Togut was a little surprised.

Tim patiently explained: "It's true. We will have to pass through a sea area one day at most. The wind and waves in this sea area are relatively large, so the hull must have enough weight to fight the wind and waves, otherwise it will be easy for an empty ship to capsize if it can't afford to eat."

Most of Europe today are sailboats, and these sailboats themselves are relatively small in weight, and they can easily capsize once they pass through severe winds and waves. In their previous lives, with the Portuguese successfully opening up new routes, there were many people who died in the Cape of Good Hope area, and countless ships capsized in the Cape of Good Hope area.
