When the steel ingot gradually grows, a very thin layer of slag will be produced between the steel ingot and the mold wall, making the surface of the ingot very smooth.
These characteristics make the special alloy refined by electroslag remelting technology excellent quality, and are very suitable for refined alloy structural steel, bearing steel, tool steel, ultra-high strength steel, precision alloy, corrosion-resistant alloy and other special alloy materials. Another advantage of vacuum protection cover is that it removes gases such as oxygen in the furnace, making the texture of the steel ingot more pure. Metals such as aluminum that could not be refined before can also be refined in this way. Although there is no accurate data for the refined special aluminum alloy, according to laboratory research, its physical characteristics will be greatly improved, which can enable domestic production of better quality aviation aluminum alloys.
