Chapter 14 Word Guessing Roulette

The gambling place Masako chose is just underground in this luxury hotel, and can be reached directly by taking the hotel's elevator.

But that floor is not open to everyone, and even the staff of the hotel cannot go there at will. If you want to reach the "that floor", you must first use a door card with "special permissions" or employee ID card to swipe the chuck of the elevator. After the elevator door is completely closed, press the five specific floor keys in a fixed order, and finally press the emergency help button.

After completing the above operation, the elevator will directly reach the secret floor underground, and there will be no stops on the way, and the display of the external floor will also become false numbers.

Simply put, if you want to go down to that secret floor, you must first obtain permission in some way, or let regular customers take you in.

Shizuo also knew very well that places that were entered in this form were most likely illegal casinos, illegal auctions, illegal private clubs, etc. He had been to such places when he was in Hanyu Town before, of course... Compared with the places he was about to go to now, the places in Hanyu Town seem a bit lost.

…………

After coming out of the elevator, Suzu and Solid followed Masako and a group of black-clothed bodyguards through an underground casino with a hot business.

When Masako and the others passed by, many casino staff freed their hands to nod and signaled to Masako, and there were also people who came to bow. Obviously, this casino... like the entire hotel above, it is also an industry of the "Shenwu Society".

If you want to say what the difference is this place and those casinos that are open on the ground, it may be that there are fewer restrictions on bets: from beautiful girls, to young children, from fresh organs, to smuggled cultural relics... those who occupy a large amount of money and social resources are chasing here the greatest stimulation that gambling can bring. They seem to be using their actions to show the world how sick and ugly the human swelling desire will bear if a group of people parasitize on the corrupt soil for too long.

…………

Without saying a word, the group came straight to a very spacious private room.

The luxurious decoration and furniture are no longer surprising here, and I won't go into details here; when Satoshi, Solid and Masako sit on both sides of a round table, several black-clothed bodyguards have closed the door of the room and guarded the only exit.

"Do you two want something to drink?" When Masako asked this question, she raised her hand casually and waved it at Sanada, the bodyguard standing behind her. She didn't know how the blind man noticed it, nor how he interpreted the information from this simple hand-waving action... Anyway, after Masako waved her hand, he immediately turned to the bar on the side of the room and brought a bottle of iced blueberry juice over.

"I don't need it, thank you." On the other side, Solid rejected the other party's kindness very normally.

But Suga's answer was: "A pot of sake will be kept for about a year and cooked wine, and the temperature will reach 35 degrees." I thought he would be finished here, but unexpectedly, "I have to cut half a white chicken, cut it vertically, and have wings and legs. The dipping sauce should be made with high-end soy sauce with green onion slices, and add a little mustard to the soy sauce; and I will also get a plate of cold tofu, and use a bamboo kitchen knife to make it. It should not be stained with iron flavor. The knife should be delicate, sprinkle with woodfish fillets, well... Don't season this with soy sauce, use miso and radish paste to make a sauce."

If it is someone else, or elsewhere, when the owner hears this request at the gambling table, he will probably throw it back: "I'll ask you what to drink. Do you think this is ordering food in a restaurant? And there are so many nonsense requirements?"

However, Masako would not do this; the high-end casinos of the Shenwu Society would not do this.

"I can't tell... you're quite particular." Masako said, turning to look at a black suit next to her, "You've heard it all, go and arrange it."

"Yes." The black suit had no objection. After receiving the order, he immediately responded, nodded slightly at Masako, and then left the room.

"Is this considered a matter of particularity?" A few seconds later, Suka responded in an agitated tone, "Is this already very casual, okay?"

"Oh? Then what do you think is the most particular?" Masako asked with interest.

"If I really want to be particular, there must be requirements for the origin and production process of each ingredient and seasoning." Suzu said again.

"You can rest assured that I have already checked this." Masako replied.

"Ha...how to check? Choose the most expensive one to buy?" Suzu smiled.

"Kun Suzu, do you think I am the kind of person who can judge the value of things by the price?" Masako took another sip of blueberry juice and continued, "Clothing, food, medicine, jewelry, skin care products, real estate, automobiles, and shell companies that are not worthy of their name... All these things that can be called "commodities" and can be "traded" depend on the greed of merchants and the feelings they can bring to consumers.

"We call this game full of ‘false’ the law of the market, but in fact, it is just a model for the powers and oligarchic capitalists who control the rules of the game to eat away at the people.

“What most people can see is just some appearances reflected in the lower building level, such as… something is so expensive that it’s amazing, and then they say, ‘Only fools can buy something that’s not worth it.’

"It's interesting that this sentence itself is correct, but it means that it means completely different from that of a person who wants to buy but cannot afford it."

Masako's tone when she said this did not reveal any arrogance, but it was this attitude, coupled with what she said, which could easily cause discomfort to many people.

"And 'gambling' is different..." Her words continued, "The two people bet on the 'value product' they agree with, whether that thing is worthless to the world or worthless... In the end, the winner takes away everything from the loser, even if it is not necessarily useful to him/her... There is no more exciting, ridiculous, and more real game than this."

When Suga heard this, he looked indifferent: "Sister Masako, I'm just talking about food with you... I don't care about your understanding of gambling; every gambler has his own unique 'gambling view', so let's seek common ground while reserving differences."

"Okay." Masako shrugged, "Since you just want to know that... I'll use the miso you ask to add tofu as an example: the miso I use here is all the soybeans cultivated in Hokkaido farms. After receiving them, I'll find a special person to choose one by one. No matter what shape, size, color, etc., no need to use any defects. This method is repeatedly screened more than three times, and then made with the most traditional ancient method, that is, in the morning of winter, soak the soybeans in a large wooden basin with hot spring water, let the special person wash their feet and put on straw sandals to make them. During this period, they add other ingredients while mixing them manually and then fermenting... Oh, by the way, when I said 'special person', I mean a high school girl with a beautiful face, a slim figure, and never had sex with men.

"What I said...'There is a check on food', which is roughly what it means."

As he finished speaking, Suga's expression became a little subtle. He always felt that he knew something that he didn't know might be better, but he was inexplicably excited.

"It's so particular..." Two seconds later, Suo said again, "Or why... I'll give me some snacks?"

"Yes, there are ready-made snacks." Masako waved her hand again, and Sanada, behind her, quickly ran to the bar counter, took out a plate of snacks from the refrigerator and sent them to Sabuya.

"Oh, this peanut crisp looks good," Suzu said, while ate a piece in a hurry, "emmm... the taste is indeed different."

"That's right." Masako continued, "Every peanut used in this heart is taken into the mouth by the old lady whose teeth are completely gone, and it is much cleaner than the machine peeled."

Her words almost made Suzu almost choke to death on the spot.

"You're overreacting." Solid looked at his companion with a rather cold look, and gloatingly said, "I'm in prison and I'm not as exaggerated as you can when I see others drinking fruit wine made from toilets."

"Okay! That's all nonsense! What are we betting on?" Suo finally swallowed the peanuts in her mouth, and then began to talk about the topic with an unhappy look on her face.

Masako smiled mysteriously, put down the blueberry juice in her hand, then glanced at a black suit standing against the wall. The latter understood it, turned around and walked to a cabinet, and took out a suitcase from it.

The man in black suit took his suitcase over and placed it flat on the round table between Sakai and Masako, then returned to the wall.

"Is this gambling tool?" Suo asked when he saw this, "So... is it mahjong, poker, or paijiu?"

"Ha..." Masako smiled, "Suka, I know your methods. I must admit that I have no chance of winning those projects with you, even if you don't have a thousand... I'm afraid I'm not your opponent."

"In other words... what we want to play cannot use the 'gambling technique' in the general sense." Suzu continued.

"That's right." As Masako said this, Sanada had already stepped forward and opened the suitcase.

The box was solid and built-in a set of nesting molds. There were only two items embedded in the mold, a pistol and a bullet.

The gun is an Uberti Katleman revolver with a rare bright silver body and a crimson wooden handle. The gun body is also carved with delicate patterns, and the wooden handle is a bit of vegetable oil. It is obviously maintained regularly, and it is not a mass-produced product at first glance.

Bullets are a point 45-caliber bullet that matches this gun.

"Hey... Are you going to play Russian roulette?" As soon as Suzu saw those two things, he sneered, "We have to cooperate next. Is it really good to play this kind of life-betting game?"

"What does it matter?" Masako responded calmly, "If I win, then the Shenwu Society will not have to cooperate with you. Your death will not affect my life. Sakurano Mansion in the future. And if you win, my death will not affect your cooperation with the Shenwu Society. Being willing to accept defeat is the iron rule of the Shenwu Society. No one will seek revenge or refuse to fulfill the bet for this."

"It makes sense." The next second, Solid also continued, "Ms. Masako, you can rest assured that if Sakaki dies in the bet, the Counter Cross will never lose his bet or take revenge on you because of him."

"Brother... are you here to protect me?" When Suo heard this, he couldn't help but look at Solid with a slight gagging.

"Who told you to tell others that anything is OK? Besides... aren't you confident that you can win anything? You won't die if you win, right?" Solid's response made sense and could not refute.

"Two... don't rush to plan your funeral. I haven't mentioned the rules of this gambling game yet." Masako interrupted the two and continued with a smile, "The original Russian roulette is actually a very boring game, just simply competing for courage and luck, with no skills at all... We might as well play more complicatedly."

In the next few minutes, Masako began to explain the rules of the bet herself, a game designed by her herself, called "Guess the Word Roulette".

As the name suggests, this is a game that combines word guessing games with Russian roulette and is quite strategic.

First, set the two sides of the battle as A and B. During the game preparation stage, each side of A and B write a noun on a piece of paper. The noun cannot be a human name, but it can be the name of a certain special creature or individual, such as "King Kong", "God", etc.

After writing, both sides rolled up the paper slip and put it in the suitcase (you can put it in the pistol-shaped groove). Then, both sides discussed "attack first" and "attack later", and then the "attack first" side loaded the bullet into the barrel of the gun, "turned the barrel", and the game officially began.

Assuming that A attacks first, A has four choices:

1. Shoot your head. If you don’t die, ask the other party a question (the question must be about the noun written by the other party, and the question must be a question of “yes” or “no”, otherwise the other party can refuse to answer).

2. Don’t shoot, end your own round and ask the other party to ask yourself a question.

3. Re-turn the chamber and then shoot two shots in the head. If you don’t die, ask the other party two questions.

4. Pull out the wheel to check the position of the bullet, then push it back intact, let the other party ask himself two questions, and only choose "one" or "three" the next time it is his turn.

When A's turn is over, he enters B's turn. These four choices are the same, and so on.

In every six rounds, that is, after both sides have made three rounds, they need to do a "turning" again. This operation is always completed by the later attacker, and then the next first attack round is carried out.

When the content of the "question" has been specifically defined in a certain word, such as "Do you write a word "slippers"?", it is considered to be "guessing the answer". If you guess wrong, you need to shoot your head immediately (regardless of who the round was at that time). If you guess correctly, you can shoot four shots at the other party immediately. If the other party is still not dead at this time, both parties need to write the words again and start a new round from the beginning.

Of course, there is also a rule that does not need to be specified in the end. Any player who is shot and dies during the game will declare the end of the game.

…………

When Masako finished talking about the rules, the dishes ordered by Shizuo had already been delivered. They were all cold dishes, so they served quickly.

To be fair, the chicken and tofu are really delicious. Even without Masako's explanation, Shizuo understood that these are high-end flavors that could not be eaten anywhere else. He just hoped... this would not become his "last supper".

"Before starting, in order to show justice, you can check all the props you need, including guns, bullets, boxes, paper and pens. You can raise any questions." Masako still seemed very leisurely, and seemed... she was sure to win.

And Suo was not polite to the other party. He checked each prop very carefully and finally said, "I hope to use the paper and pen to bring ourselves."

He had no reason to explain, but he didn't need to explain. Masako naturally knew that there was a kind of "remote printing paper" on the market (black market) now, which looked no different from ordinary paper, but there were extremely tiny electronic components hidden inside. When you wrote on it, even if the force was light, it would be sensed and displayed on the screen of the receiver corresponding to this piece of paper.

In the underground world, such cheating props invented specifically for gambling are all-encompassing, many of which are even more sophisticated than the technology used by government agents, and at all cost-effectively.

Many of these props are far beyond the common sense and imagination of ordinary people. Even if the gambler at the bottom loses and dies, it is impossible for him to know the mystery, so he deserves to die...

"Yes, but I will check the paper and pen you took out, too." Masako's request was reasonable.

To put it short, after both sides have done all the preparations (all have finished writing the words and put them in the box), it is time to reach the first game point of "Guess the Word Roulette"...

"So... it's time to decide who attacks first and who attacks later?" Suzu asked while eating tofu.

"I am the master and you are a guest, so let you do it first." Masako's sentence was quickly answered, obviously she had already thought about going back attack.

"No, no, ladies are preferred, you should first." Suzu is not so easy to take advantage.

"Equality between men and women has been advocated for many years. Are you a little bit discriminatory like this?" Masako began to use the moral grill.

"That's right...even if you put aside the gender issue, you are a princess. You have no problem first." Suo didn't take this trick. He could talk about nonsense for this reason.

"You are wrong. It is because it is a princess who has to set an example. I am so friendly to the people. How can I use my identity to oppress you and force you to give in to me?" Masako said again.

This time, before Suo returned, Solid interrupted first: "Okay, just let's go first... Then Moji is about to dawn." He looked at Suo and said, "If you die in the first round, you can only say that the God of Gambling has abandoned you."

"I don't know whether the god of gambling has abandoned him. I just want to abandon you now." Suzu replied to Solid with his dead fish eyes.

"This doesn't work. If you die, I'll have to collect your body." Solid also said that he could not and didn't care how to chat.
