Chapter 155: The Confused Administrator

The news was bombing outside, and Zhang Chu himself had already returned home and faced the computer. To write a book in five days, he had to hurry up every minute and every second.

The big words "The Fantasy Drift of the Young Pi" appear in the center of the document, but now Zhang Chu is working on the outline of the novel and plan how to write the whole novel.

This step can be omitted by copying it, but the problem is that Zhang Chu is working hard to optimize and modify the novel.

At the beginning of the original work, there are many bloated parts of animals, and the explanation of beliefs about various religions is also very cumbersome. What Zhang Chu needs to do is to condense and refine these contents.

He decided to divide the entire novel into three parts, one part is that the "novel author" interviewed Patel in Canada, which is the middle-aged Pi. He recalled his experience in India when he was young, including the origin of his name, how he became a common believer of the three religions, and the experience of opening a zoo at home and first contact with Richard Parker.

This part of the original work took quite a lot of writing and ink, and the description was also superficial, making people feel lengthy and boring.

Even though the original author is an Indian, this is not a life experience that penetrates the bone marrow, and it is as optional as scratching a shoe.

Of course, Zhang Chu has never lived in India, but he knows to play to his strengths and avoid his weaknesses. Since this part of the content is boring and difficult to write, it will not be of any special effect after writing it, so it is better to focus on the second part!

In the second part of the novel, what he wants to write about is that the boys' family took many animals to Canada on a boat, but the Riben cargo ship they were riding encountered a storm in the Pacific Ocean, which is the biggest highlight of fantasy drifting.

The 16-year-old Pi survived at sea and fought wits and courage with Richard Parker. The process of training the tiger is also the process of the student from a teenager to an adult.

The general direction of the plot is still the same as the original novel and movie, but Zhang Chu felt that he should be able to use more accurate and credible descriptions to describe the dangers and obstacles that can be encountered in survival at sea.

The description of this journey in English is of course wonderful, but it will inevitably have a different flavor in Chinese.

Since he wrote a book in the first person "I", necessary psychological activities are indispensable, which is a certain challenge for Zhang Chu. He must put himself in his shoes and think about what kind of actions he would have in such an environment.

The third part is the interview with the staff of the insurance company and the cargo ship company after being rescued and the final conclusions. Although this part does not require much writing, it is a chapter that sets the tone of the whole story.

When cruel and bloody details are told, all the light, dreamy, and strange and magnificent things in front seem to be reversed, and the whole story instantly goes heavier!

This ending must be collected well. If not, the shock brought by "Youth Pi" will drop by several levels.

If readers believe in the existence of tigers, then this is an adventure story, a growth story, and a fairly legendary story.

If readers do not believe that tigers exist, then this is the most extreme tragedy in life, a tragedy that a teenager must fabricate a Bengal tiger to forget.

The ideas of a person's opinion are quite a bit like Zhuangzi's philosophical meaning of invisible elephant and loud sound, and Zhang Chu really wants to express this kind of thinking.

[I am Pi, drifting on a lifeboat in the Pacific Ocean. My only company is a 450-pound adult Bengal tiger. How could this happen? It's hard to say, don't mention it. Now I'm just thinking about one thing: how to deal with this tiger called Richard Parker.]

This is what Zhang Chu wrote in the preface, which is obviously used to attract readers' curiosity and make them want to open the content to see what is going on.

Why are you with tigers?

Why does tigers have the same name?

[Plan No. 1: Get him off the lifeboat. What's the benefit? The tiger is a swimmer. He will climb back and put it on, making me pay for my betrayal.]

Zhang Chu did not use the word "it" to refer to Representative Chard Parker, but used "he", which can better highlight the significance of Richard Parker's party.

[Plan No. 2: Attack him with all the weapons you can find...

Plan No. 7: Let him live.]

The preface describes the loneliness and despair of the party. He would rather have a tiger accompany him than drift on the sea alone!

Zhang Chu's choice of "Boyant Pi" is actually quite risky. If he really wants to write a novel that is completely in the judges' taste, there are too many things in the system for him to choose from.

Not to mention the distance, just write some winning works of the Lu Xun Literature Awards and Contradictory Literature Awards. Can the judges of good Chinese literature still bear to give bad reviews?

But this pure literature can only conquer the hearts of these judges, but cannot win the hearts of readers.

Serious literary works belong to the elite literature often contain a heavy tone and serious thinking about the times. Most of the time, they can only be well-known to the public after winning various influential awards. Just like Mo Yan's novels, if it weren't for his "promise" to become famous, how many people have actually read it?

Ordinary novels pursue entertainment without pursuing depth or readers’ thinking. Although the scope of readers is wider, the connotation is slightly weaker. It is undoubtedly difficult for this type of book to impress the judges.

So Zhang Chu chose "Youth Pi" in the middle of these two types of literature. It does not tell the story of the Chinese, but the things contained in it are shared by all mankind, and we cannot be hostile to it with narrow eyes!

...

China Writers Network is the official website of the China Writers Association and is also the online submission address for this "Good Chinese Literature".

Located in the office building in Dongcheng District, Yanjing City, there is a department dedicated to operating the Writer Network. They are mainly responsible for updating relevant messages, maintaining the normal operation of the web page, etc.

Kang Zhengqing is mainly responsible for the editor of content, but recently he has another task, which is to maintain the pages of good Chinese literature essays.

The biggest advantage of working here is that you are idle, don’t have much intrigue, and the work intensity is not high, and your salary is quite good compared to it.

"This essay contest is about to end, and I can finally get less work." Kang Zhengqing picked up the teacup at hand, took a sip and checked the submission link.

Why did so many more people register accounts after just one night? And people contributed to poems, prose, short stories, mediums, scripts, long stories, etc.

This is even more than the number of contributors who announced the submission link at the beginning!

"What's going on? Who helped us promote it?"

Kang Zhengqing became confused, and then briefly checked the email accounts that used to register China Writers Network. Now he found that most of them were pku.edu.cn.

There are so many of them all in the education system email address of Yanjing University. Kang Zhengqing was a little confused. Yan University students formed a group to participate in the competition. Is it an attempt to win all the rankings in this essay competition?
