Chapter 152 Mrs. Poland (1)

Vincennes in the Eighth Abbey of Paris, it looks like an ordinary street. It is quiet and peaceful, with good security. It is not as crowded as other streets, and tourists are like crucian carp trees, and they are noisy all day long.

Victory Street was once again called Polish Street, and its name was because most of the Polish immigrants living in Paris gathered here. Among them, two special figures are the most eye-catching, one is the revolutionary spiritual leader of Poland, General Kosicuschko; the other is the Polish lady of Napoleon and the Countess of Mary Valliveska.

In April 1810, General Koshiciusko had already left Paris and returned to his motherland to continue his unfinished career; while the pregnant Countess of Valevska secretly returned to the Polish mansion in Paris from the Castle of Valeves in the Grand Duchy of Warsaw.

A few days ago, the Duke of Desay and several marshals and generals in Paris received an invitation from the Financial Management Committee of the French National Assembly (Slower House of Parliament) and a special hearing on the "Iberis Peninsula Issues".

At the hearing yesterday morning, including General Desai, the marshals and generals of the Spanish Legion and the Portuguese Legion actively cooperated with the emperor's special envoy, Minister of State Conbassérez, and successfully persuaded the "Financial and Appropriations Committee" of the lower house of parliament to add another 50 million francs of special military expenditure this year to the war on the Iberis Peninsula.

To this end, the Desai Division will also receive one-tenth of the special military expenditure, namely 5 million francs. In addition to the 3.5 million francs of military expenditure allocated by the Paris Cabinet this year, Napoleon has fulfilled his military expenditure commitment to the "Desai Division" in 1810. Desai is very clear that this is probably the last time he has collected military expenditures from the Paris Parliament and the Emperor's Cabinet.

According to the deal between Desai and Napoleon, Catalonia and the Northern Aragon region will form a new kingdom, and the future Prince of Desai and Manreza will have the rule of this new kingdom. Based on this, starting from 1811, the French mainland and Paris Army Department will no longer provide troops, equipment, military pay, baggage, etc. for the Kingdom of Catalonia. However, as a servant or satellite state of the French Empire, Catalonia still had to obey Napoleon's military orders, contribute money to the emperor, and fight in all directions.

Before accepting the title of Prince of Catalonia, the Duke of Desay and his army must complete a task: assist the Portuguese army in taking Lisbon and compensate the entire Portuguese territory to the Spanish king of Madrid, His Majesty Joseph Bonaparte.

After leaving the seat of the National Assembly, Bourbon Palace, a middle-aged royal servant stopped Desai's carriage, and he apologized to convey the emperor's message to the duke. Napoleon told Desai that he would accompany the newly appointed Portuguese officer, commander of the Portuguese military, Marséna, to the Palace of Duille to discuss the future Portuguese war.

However, before this, the emperor secretly instructed the young duke to go to Polish Street and visit Napoleon's Polish lady, Countess Mary Valliveska.

If calculated based on bloodline kinship, Desai's grandfather, Duke Lubomierski who died on the battlefield, and the current husband of Countess Valevska, and the timid and fearful Earl Anse Valevski, are still a pair of cousins. From this point of view, the 25-year-old Countess Valevska should be the grandmother of the 28-year-old Duke Desai.

"Damn great-grandmother! Damn Earl Valeski! Damn emperor!" Desey cursed indignantly. From the level of seniority alone, the duke felt that he was shorter. He scolded his grandfather's cousin in his heart. It would be fine if the old cow had eaten young grass. Why add a cuckold to his head? He actually agreed to his young and beautiful wife to run to Paris to give birth to a child for his lover.

A week ago, Desai had received news that Napoleon's Polish lady secretly returned to Paris, but he deliberately pretended to ignore it and waited for the cabinet to give military funds. After meeting the emperor, he slapped his butt, left Paris, and went south to Catalonia.

Naturally, Napoleon's orders cannot be violated, at least on the surface.

The next day, the Duke of Desay brought Doctor Cava and his female companion, Miss Litisia boarded a four-wheel convertible car. Accompanied by dozens of armed servants, he drove all the way from the Duke's Mansion on the Champs-Elysees and into the Polish Street.

The citizens of Paris are already accustomed to the high-profile trips of the Duke of Desay. At first, there were always many idle people pointing fingers and sneering at the carriage the Duke was riding. But after the night of killing, whenever they saw the family heralds printed outside the carriage, a blooming violet and a proud Gaul chicken, no one dared to publicly express disrespect to the Duke of Desay.

At the Poles' gathering place, it seemed that someone spread the news that Desay visited the Countess of Valefska, and a large number of Polish immigrants rushed to see the fun. By the time Desay carriages drove into the Polish street, there were already crowds of people, shoulder to shoulder, and the streets were crowded.

Many people have taken off their hats and waved them desperately. They cheered and paid tribute to the Polish crown prince, such as "Long live Poland!" and "Long live the crown prince!", which has caused Desai to stand up in the shaking convertible and frequently send gifts to the people who welcome them.

Most of them are young people, or Polish veterans who participated in the Warsaw Uprising. Radical young people need to worship idols who can fight well. The Duke of Desay, who has Polish descent, is just right; and the veterans hope that the crown prince can inherit the legacy of the Duke of Warsaw and restore the old territory and glory of Greater Poland.

Among the onlookers on both sides of the street, not all welcomed the Duke of Desay to become the supporter of the Polish crown prince. Almost half of the people just stood quietly and watched the movement of the Desay carriage. These people did not agree with the Duke of Desay, and at least until the Polish parliament passed the resolution, most of them would not recognize Andrew Desay's qualification as the Crown Prince.

Among them, there were close ties with the Legionists, hoping that the Countess Valevska and the emperor's impending illegitimate son would be the future Polish king; while the others, mainly great nobles, supported the playboy brother of Warsaw, Prince Poniatovsky succeeded to the Polish crown prince, although the latter repeatedly refused the appointment of the Polish parliament.

Napoleon sent more than 20 royal guards to the Polish mansion, with the cooperation of the same number of Duke Guards, all the Polish immigrants who supported or opposed Desay from the cordon of the Earl's mansion.

In the lobby on the first floor, when facing Mrs. Valefska who had already passed the turmoil of youth, Desai, who had already passed the turmoil of youth, was stunned. He had to admit that history's praise and compliment for the beauty of the Polish lady was not at all pretentious.

Although the young countess was "already or will be" the mother of two children, she still maintained her big eyes as pure as children. She wore a white satin skirt, an embroidered yarn dress, without any jewelry, and only had a piece of love leaves on her shining blonde hair. The Polish lady during pregnancy still looked graceful, slender, and pity-willing. And a layer of red color appeared in her exposed ice-skinned jade skin, exuding the breath of new life.

Miss Litisia, who had been standing beside Desai, began to eat. Like all the proud and arrogant young women, she grabbed Desai's arm tightly and pinched her nails hard.

The Irish doctor who followed the two pretended not to see anything about it. He looked up and admired the Bohemian ceiling at the top of the hall. Mrs. Valefska, who was used to men's strange eyes, just smiled when she encountered the ambiguous little movements between the two couples, but she was immediately fascinated by the whole country.

A heart-wrenching pain restored the young duke's sanity. He used the brief "Countess" as the title of the hostess of the mansion and greeted Polish-style aristocratic greetings.

At the invitation of Mrs. Valefska, everyone entered the living room together.

Due to his awkward and poor performance before, Desai decided to sit on the sofa and keep silent, taste the black coffee sent by the maid, or look around and find some exquisite furnishings to pass the boring time.

Miss Litisia glared at Desai, which was because she realized that the latter was guilty. But soon, the kind-hearted and open-minded Catalan girl was also captured by the beautiful young woman. In less than two minutes, Miss Litisia moved forward to the Polish lady. The two noble women, who were 8 years apart, began to have a common topic. They talked and praised their hometowns and customs in French, followed by dresses, ornaments, and perfume on their bodies.

On the other hand, Dr. Cava performed his doctor's duties and made preventive diagnosis for the Countess. Today, this unsightly Irishman has been successfully elected as a new academician of the French Academy of Sciences. He is a well-known and well-known figure in the biomedical community in France and even the entire European.

This is mainly due to Dr. Kava's epoch-making achievements in bacteriology research. He used irrefutable facts to verify the real existence of bacteria and viral bacteria from multiple sources, and also proposed methods and ideas for how to effectively control harmful bacteria. Among them, clinical nursing, which has been tested on the field, is a concentrated reflection of this medical theory.

(Here, pay tribute to the most famous French microbiologist, chemist, and the great Louis Pasteur!)

The Royal Medical Commission was already regretting its childish behavior and actually let the talented medical scientist go and gave it to the most vicious enemy of the British Empire. Soon, the University of Cambridge Medical School restored Dr. Kava's visiting professorship. Although the Irish never agreed to return to the UK to coach, they received £35 a month from the London Medical School.

Emperor Napoleon also favored Dr. Cava. Not only was the nursing science created by the Irish people, which saved the lives of thousands of French soldiers, but also won himself supreme glory. On the battlefield of medical treatment, he severely attacked the arrogant British. Even when the British cabinet prime minister testified in the lower house of parliament, he had to publicly admit that the great steps taken by the French in the field of medicine had thrown the conservative Britain for more than half a century.

Since the Second Austria-French War, Napoleon has been trying his best to win over the famous Irish doctors and promised to give all high-ranking officials a generous salary. Two months ago, he personally awarded Dr. Cava the Royal Academy of Sciences as a senior academician, rather than the French emperor.
