23. Seen at Karachi Port

It's a very powerful scene indeed.

Adam's eyes couldn't fully see the whole picture of this port city, but the pier was just amazing enough.

Magic technology has completely surpassed the existence of Earth, ether, magic, and the existence of "mysterious side" energy in terms of application, making it very simple to turn a technology from theory to real objects.

All the working "mechanics" on the dock have completely separated from the traditional dynamics that Adam knew, which means that Adam's current knowledge simply cannot understand their principles.

The robotic arm that floated out of thin air accurately grasped the hull and fixed the ship steadily on the "club" of the dock. The passage made of unknown substances appeared at everyone's feet. The mages signaled the apprentices to step on, and then the passage began to flow and sent everyone to the dock.

Next was a silver torrent, and the naked eye could not tell whether they were individuals or groups. After Adam dispersed his mental power, he vaguely observed that it was countless alchemy products like "nanobots". They instantly wrapped the Moldo Academy and then disappeared at the same speed. Adam discovered that the stains and losses of the ship after a long sailing had been completely repaired, and the entire ship was completely renewed.

Then the ship "integrated" into the dock in an unknown way and disappeared.

The same thing happened elsewhere in the port, and the apprentices even saw larger and more magical ships appearing, not only on the sea, but also in the sky, flying objects docked from time to time.

There is no need for a runway, no noise or bumps, the aircraft takes off and lands smoothly.

The mages ignored the apprentice's surprise. They were already commonplace with such scenes. This was the first step for all the "indigenous people" from overseas islands to understand the advanced world of the mage.

"Is this the world of the wizard? Such a world is simply... simply..." William murmured to himself. On the island where he was born, the Southern Harbor City was already the most developed city, but it still cannot escape the constraints of primitive productivity. He could not imagine that on the other side of the sea, the humans here actually lived like this.

"It's incredible. No wonder I've never seen any mage before, or even a mage apprentice. If I had seen these, I wouldn't be able to return to my past life." Ophelia sighed and said to herself. She had lived in the North since she was a child, and she was even worse than William, so she was hit even more.

Adam was extremely pleased. It was great to come to such a world, come into contact with such an advanced civilization, have the opportunity to explore the unknown, and no longer have to spend the rest of his life in loneliness.

After waiting quietly in the port for a while, a "car" drove over. It was not the form of a car that Adam knew. It had no wheel hubs and no exhaust pipes. The car drove in a low-altitude suspension and stopped steadily in front of the mages.

The car door opened, and a driver in a very colorful uniform respectfully saluted the mages: "Dear Master, welcome to return to the mage continent. The teleportation array usage authority has been applied for and will be activated on time in two hours."

Master Black nodded to him and said to the apprentices: "I'm sorry, I don't have time to leave you to visit Karachi Port this time. Apprentices of your same period have arrived at the academy. We need to hurry up."

Of course, the apprentices dared not have any doubts and said in unison: "Your will, respected Master Black."

Everyone entered in a row, and the space inside the car was much larger than what they saw outside. Adam couldn't help but be amazed. Can even the knowledge of space be expanded to civilian use?

But in such a developed world, there will be a barbaric way of fighting like Academy War? Adam put this question in his heart and will soon embark on the road, so he will soon learn about the basic information about the world of mages.

In the car, Curry Corestel asked the driver: "Sir, please ask the one we are riding..." There are only two concepts about transportation in her mind: Rich cars and boats, and she doesn't know what to call them.

The driver was easy to speak, and he explained softly: "The universal suspension car in the world, its name comes from the creation of the great wizard."

"So amazing!" Corriester exclaimed in a simple manner. She really couldn't think of other words.

The driver didn't say anything else. Facing these apprentices from the "deserted island", he felt a sense of superiority in his heart, probably like "Although I don't have the qualifications of a mage, I can also enjoy the mage's achievements."

The universal suspension vehicle in the boundary seems to be closed outside, but people sitting in the car can clearly see the scenes outside.

Adam carefully observed what he saw on the road. The building was a high-rise structure. Each building was towering into the clouds. There was light flowing on it, but it was not densely distributed. There were large open areas between them. The facilities similar to the lane were distributed in an orderly manner. Countless floating cars were driving on the middle and lower levels, and the higher levels were empty. Adam guessed that it should be a passage for the extraordinary to fly.

There are not many pedestrians on the ground, but their walking methods are very unusual - after all, living in such an incredible and huge city, if you rely on ordinary walking methods, it will take a long time to reach your destination, so most of them are using the method of blood and energy explosion, and occasionally some people use abilities that they cannot understand, which are probably mage apprentices.

Sure enough, all ordinary people in the Mage Continent have the power of knight level.

Adam saw at least three fights along the way, with knights fighting each other and even magical duels, but no one went to stop them, and people like law enforcement officers never appeared, and everyone was used to fighting.

Adam pointed to the battle scene that he had just passed by and asked the driver strangely: "Is no one stopping it?"

The driver said calmly: "It's very common. At least a dozen people die in duels every day in Karachi Port. As long as you apply in advance and promise compensation for the public facilities destroyed in the duel, the Mage Council allows the conflict to be resolved in this way."

Adam realized that the ‘Mage Council’ was probably the ruling organ of the mage plane. In this world with obvious extraordinary individual power, the law against ordinary people on Earth is obviously not easy to implement. The mages seem unwilling to spend time maintaining balance and preside over justice. It is also normal for a way similar to the ‘judicial duel’ invented by the ancient Germans on Earth?

What is this? Barbarism in civilization? Or civilization maintained by barbarism?

The driver asked strangely: "Doesn't duels be allowed on the deserted island? Then what are you going to resolve the conflict?"

Quentin sneered: "Duesment, only nobles can initiate the duel..." He stopped here. It was true that Adam was a civilian, but Randy and Corriester were the same. It would be bad if they continued to talk.

But this is enough for the driver to understand that he did not express anything to the identity of a civilian, but said: "There are no nobles on the mage continent, only mortals and mages. The only limitation of duels is that mages cannot initiate mortals." He paused for a moment and continued: "Obsaulting mages is a death sentence. Of course, there are no mortals as stupid as they are."

I had nothing to say about the way and soon arrived at my destination.

The teleportation array is in a strange building with a very scientific and mysterious side color. Adam cannot describe it in words because it seems to be changing all the time.

"Visual deception caused by time and space interference?" Adam could only analyze this way. All his experiences and hearings after coming here exceeded his inherent knowledge, and the incomplete knowledge brought from the earth seemed to be of little use.

The suspension car left by itself, and Adam and others walked into the building under the guidance of the mages. It looked very lively and there were many people coming in and out at every moment. Their unique energy fields intertwined, making all the apprentices feel extremely uncomfortable.

It is a kind of powerlessness when facing higher levels of life.

When mages are alone, they can perfectly restrain their own field. This is a means to avoid useless energy consumption, and it is also a protection for mortals. However, when there are plural mages or low-level mages in a space, their field will spontaneously spread, which is probably similar to a unique proof of identity and class proof.

After entering the building, the four mages of Moldo Academy seemed a little humble. From time to time, they stopped and bowed to the passing high-level mages. The apprentices were even more trembling and cautious, fearing that any behavior would anger the mage and cause a catastrophe.

They walked all the way inside, and Mage Black lowered his voice and said, "All teleportation arrays belong to the Second Element Holy Tower, and are the property of the great Randolph's True Spirit Master. You must be humble enough. We will meet Mage of the Holy Tower later, remember, don't talk."

This was the first time that Mage Black had solemnly requested. No one dared to express doubts. The consequence of disrespect must be death, and no one wanted to die.

After walking a corner through a light curtain, everyone finally saw the teleportation array - a regular figure composed entirely of runes. Each rune contains strong magic power, which seems to be floating in front of you, but it seems illusory and untouchable. The ether from the void is constantly injected into the runes. Facing this magic array, everyone's souls are trembling. Adam is very sure that the explosion of any of them is enough to destroy the apprentice present hundreds of times.

The person who presided over the magic circle was a mage whose face could not be seen clearly. Like the magic circle, he seemed to stand between reality and illusion: "Moldo Elemental Tower? Yes?"
