111. Rapid Transition

(Written before, everyone said I was so hot recently... Well, I accepted the criticism. After I deleted the manuscript of tens of thousands of words, I deleted the daily plot and condensed it into a chapter. This chapter is a transitional chapter, which is a bit stiff... The next chapter starts the war trial plot.)

Tim Page's cold eyes seemed to penetrate Dean Barbara and fell directly on Adam. The anger made Adam feel cold, but he knew that he was safe, so he simply sluggishly behind the Dean.

Tim Peggy also revealed his true elemental body, but in the end he did nothing, just arrested Monica from the ground, and did not even leave a harsh word, and flew out of the tower.

———

"Actually, you don't have to worry about it. Tim Page will never dare to kill you." After the duel was settled, Tim Page took Monica, the only surviving apprentice, and Adam followed Dean Barbara back to her office.

"Because of the provisions of the Mage Council?"

President Barbara nodded: "Yes, there are few rules in the parliament, but the more this happens, the less the existing rules are, the less the mage dares to violate them. Even his first magic is just a bluff, otherwise you will have no chance to avoid them."

Adam recalled what happened just now and knew that the dean was right. The feeling after the front was locked was really terrible. Adam suddenly thought of the enemy mage: "Will he..."

"No." Dean Barbara said firmly, and then looked at the puzzled Adam and gave an explanation: "First, the reason why he was angry was not because he cared about the life and death of his apprentice, but more because he lost face. Second, the war trial began soon, and the trial was watched by the Great Master of True Spirit. As long as you pass the trial, your soul will be uploaded to the magic net. No mage dared to attack a war mage at the risk of angering all true spirits."

Dean Barbara personally handed Adam a drink and signaled Adam to try it.

Adam looked at the purple water bubbles in the cup, and the hot and boiling drink was hesitant. After tentatively taking a sip, he found that the strange drink tasted very good, and after the liquid entered the mouth, he quickly filled the mental power he had just consumed. Adam's eyes lit up and he drank the drink in one go.

Adam thanked Dean Barbara and asked, “When will the war trial begin?”

Dean Barbara pointed to the seal on his chest: "Don't worry, it's good for you to stop properly. Although knowledge represents strength, how to use strength requires a process of exercise. I saw your magic, the power is very good, but I think you can do better, right?"

Adam admitted that what the dean said made sense, but it did not apply to him. For him, the threads in his mind were being optimized every moment. The new magic that had just been used on a whim had been revised many times in the short period of the conversation. If the duel happened again, he could guarantee that no one of Monte Carlo's apprentices would leave alive.

But he immediately got the news he wanted to know. Dean Barbara smiled and said to him: "After waiting for two years, within two years, within the scope of the Fifth Elemental Santa Tower, all qualified apprentices in the academy will conduct trials together under the arrangement of the Santa Tower."

———

After getting good news from the dean, Adam went to the academic department to submit his papers and some relatively rough spell runes. After walking out of the tower, he saw a group of people waiting outside.

In addition to the assistants and Elliot in the laboratory, William and Frank, whom they hadn't seen for a long time, were also present.

"Let's go." After Adam said two words, he flew out of the academy with everyone behind him.

There was no funeral or cemetery. After the apprentice died, they were mostly burned directly with magic. James was no exception. Under everyone's gaze, Adam took out James' body from his portable space and slept in the air.

Adam waved his hand gently, and the breeze ignited on the corpse. With a breeze coming from nowhere, the gray-white ashes flew into the world in a scattered manner.

Everyone bowed gently to see this old friend off.

———

There was nothing to say along the way, everyone separated in the academy, the assistants went to enjoy the holiday, while Adam returned to the academy with Frank.

"You are not in good condition now?" Adam asked strangely.

Facing Adam Frank's nothing to hide, he directly lifted the cloak that covered his body, revealing all mechanically modified bodies except the head, and opened his mouth and made a strange sound: "Indeed, Master Keno encountered some problems in his research. I was going to ask you for help, but I didn't expect to hear the news of James' death."

James is dead, and the two of them will not waste their time to express any remembrance to him. Adam felt the weakness of Frank's body as flesh and blood, and said, "Insufficient motivation?"

"That's right, it's the problem. The batteries you make can no longer provide enough energy. I now have to replace them three times a day to maintain the consumption generated by the most basic actions."

"What did Master Keno say?"

Frank took out a few batteries from his cloak, lifted the baffle to replace it, and said, "The Master of the Sword has thought about changing some of the energy to magic, but it has poor compatibility with this mechanical body built entirely on electrical energy. He heard that your research has made new progress, so he asked me to ask."

Only then did Adam know why Frank came so coincidental. It seemed that the message between the mages was very quick: "This problem is not difficult to solve. You can go back and wait. I will tell you the result."

Since the two signed a contract before, Adam was not stingy in Frank. Once Frank really became a mage with new energy, the benefits he gained would even be greater than Frank himself.

———

The next two years were calm and unstable. Adam no longer accepted new assistants, and the old group of assistants did not renew their contracts after the contract expired. Adam became more low-key than before. He only improved the original spell rune set and created new magic in the laboratory every day, and rarely walked out of the laboratory.

One day when the two-year period was approaching, a person who had not seen for a long time came to his laboratory.

"I'm glad to see you again, Master Victor."

The one who came was the clone of Master Victor. He was fighting in an alien plane, and the connection between his soul revealed his murderous aura.

He stepped forward and patted Adam on the shoulder: "Don't call me lord, you are already a member of the mage. You only need to call me Master Victor in the future."

Adam followed the good.

"Are you ready? Your war trial is about to begin."

"Of course, I can't wait."
