Chapter 1036 Three Kinds of Identity

This has to talk about the complete difference between Chinese thinking and Western thinking.

The dream of a strong country does not distinguish between the country and the nation. It is understandable to fight openly and secretly for the rise of its own country and the nation. But generally speaking, foreign relations, including diplomacy, are nothing more than cultural identity, economic identity and political identity.

Western foreign relations should be divided into two stages. The first stage is before World War II. Generally, political recognition is preferred. If you don’t agree, send troops to attack you. We Westerners are so civilized. War is a continuation of politics! Finally, a colony was established to form a total political control.

Then there is economic recognition. This is easy to understand, plundering the wealth of the colonies by various means.

If time is enough, cultural identity will eventually be. For example, the languages of many former colonial countries are the languages of those former European and American powers, and the languages of the original indigenous people have basically entered museums. For countries like Bangzi, the domestic behavior styles of the country always bow, which is similar to those of the book. Although they both have to fight each other as soon as they meet, they like to fight back and forth. There are also commonplaces, such as the Commonwealth, African francs, etc., which are also remnants of cultural identity.

However, this order has a huge disadvantage - it's just a wave of fun, and it's gone after it's fun.

I won’t analyze the reasons in detail. Just look at the results? The former colonial powers have now basically lost their former colonies. The Empire of Sun Never Setting has become a legend.

Why is this happening? Because of this human nature. How cool is it to go to your house as a robber? Then he becomes a master and rides on the colonial natives to act as a mighty man. This is not something that can be changed by hypocritical propaganda or some hypocritical brainwashing work. Otherwise, the same white people, the American War of Independence and the Boer War are because of the sharp contradictions between the suzerain and the colonies, and they will fight to the death.

Therefore, there is oppression and resistance. When Western colonial countries could not bear high security costs and casualties, those colonies would eventually become independent.

The second stage was the Yalta system after World War II. Western countries, dominated by the United States, discovered that economic identification is preferred, political identification is second, and finally cultural...? Just do whatever you want!

This is actually a kind of economic colonization thinking. It is more deceptive. But at the same time, it should be admitted that it is at least much more civilized than the first stage. But what should I do if economic identity is affected? It is very simple. You can often see in the news that the aircraft carrier of the police in that world is coming again, or sanctions are coming again.

The last is culture. To be honest, Western countries seem to be promoting "Western values". Many public intellectuals in our country and many white left-wingers abroad seem to take it seriously. But their powers themselves did not take it seriously. For example, after World War II, how many dictators the United States supported? How many coups did it secretly launch? Why is this? Because this is the least important thing. Without contradictions, of course, you can happily promote "Western values", but if there is a conflict with economic and political situation, it is definitely the first two that are preferred. What if it supports dictators? What if the cruise missiles hit you?

The order of us Chinese is generally like this: cultural identity is preferred, economic identity is second, and finally political identity is known. We all know that we are descendants of Yan and Huang, and that is the slowly merger of the two major tribes; the totem of the dragon, at least twelve ancient tribes, merged.

Why is this happening?

Maybe I have heard a joke - how did our huge country and a nation of more than one billion come from? It was given away with phone bills.

Of course, jokes are just jokes, and the truth is not the case. In Chinese history, we have also faced the problem of territorial expansion and even tried a variety of methods, perhaps including those direct colonization and economic colonization of Western colonists. But in the end, it was found that for the sake of long-term stability, the order of these three recognitions must not be wrong! Cultural identity is the most important!

This is the wisdom of our ancestors. For example, before modern times, many surrounding countries had already used Chinese and learned Confucian classics, and their cultural identity was already in place. There was also a tribute system, which was not given economic priority, and was given preferential treatment to those vassal states in terms of interests. Not to mention that in some aspects, there were limitations in knowledge and means, but at least the principle of cultural identity was implemented.

We can completely assume that if there were no interference from Western colonists and communication and transportation problems had developed, what would these vassal congresses be like in a few hundred years? What would their nation be like? Just like the Han people gradually developed from the Yellow River Basin to the Yangtze River Basin, the Sichuan Basin, and finally to Lingnan, Yunnan and Guizhou, with a population of hundreds of millions.

Then as long as there is an opportunity, it will naturally be integrated.

Anyway, these are all hindsights. It’s pure academic discussion. If you have seen it, you can just laugh it off.

However, the disadvantage of this order is that it takes a very long time and may take hundreds of years and more than ten generations to persevere. However, Chinese people have never lacked patience and perseverance, so it is not a big problem. But the advantage is that there is no sequelae. When combined, it will naturally be recognized by everyone.

...

Therefore, here, Westerners like Dr. Locke are still thinking of economic colonization. In order to control the black gold, will you Fructusia be divided in war and people are living in poverty?

Jing Jian is completely different. He first needs to gain cultural recognition from people like Busancho. The cultural recognition mentioned here is not about speaking Chinese or writing Chinese characters, it is already at the advanced stage. At the very least, cultural recognition, not to be a good friend, at least maintain a partnership that is mutually beneficial and can communicate and understand each other?

Of course, to reach a consensus, Helan City needs to make a contribution. In the following days, Jing Jian heard that Busancho and the others also visited many "businessmen" from European and American countries, and should have received several assistance, promises, and even some secret agreements. These have nothing to do with China.

Anyway, the day after Jing Jian set out to Europe, Helan City publicly announced that it had become a "free city", which was only one step away from independence.

Due to the conditions at this time, international influence and money, they are completely inferior to those Western countries. In fact, China's status is quite passive. It should be understood that if you want to hold your thighs, you should hold the thick one. Hei Shushu and others are not stupid. In other words, China's "persistence" has just begun, and Hei Shushu is quite suspicious of this kindness.
