Chapter 18 Las Vegas

"Good ball!" Patrice jumped high and threw Lu Qiujian into the front of the rebound and smashed the basketball into the basket. Gaderson, who was defending, was shocked by the huge impact. Patrice let go of the basket and landed on the ground, opened his mouth and walked over with a smile and stretched out his hand to pull Gaderson up, "Man, you have to gain weight. The basket is not a place like you can stay in a bamboo pole!"

"Come on, I'm very satisfied with my figure. I don't plan to become a monster!" Gaderson stretched out his fist and pounded Patrice's chest. Patrice had no response. Gaderson's fist was shocked by his solid chest muscles. "With you and Lu, maybe my withdrawal time will last until March!" Gaderson is about to graduate, and the time when the Princeton Tigers were eliminated in the NCAA is the time when he quit the basketball team.

"Go to start soon! The powerful Patrice is already unbearable!" He yelled in the chest. Now the practice game inside Princeton can no longer satisfy him.

Today's practice was over after Patrice completed that aerial relay. Spencer, who was standing by, began to leave the court to pack up his things. He pointed to the assistant coach Black, who was standing by, and said, "Didn't you notice that Coach Thompson didn't come today? He is contacting us for the opponent in the warm-up match. Maybe we can play officially in two weeks!"

The NCAA's regular season started in November and is now mid-September. In order to adjust the players' condition, it is necessary for every school's basketball team to do several warm-up games in October.

"Really? That team? Duke or UCLA?" Patrices asked quickly. Spencer spread his hands and said he knew nothing. Just as Patrice tried to ask Coach Black, Lu Qiujian stood in front of him, "Okay, we're going to Nevada tomorrow! Don't you need to go back early to pack up?"

Back at the dormitory, Lu Qiujian packed up two pieces of clothes, then flipped out a few books from the bookshelf and threw them into the box to complete his preparations; he came to the desk to brush the completion of the paper to 100%.

Early the next morning, the two of them took a bus to New York Airport. Thanks to the developed aviation industry in the United States, they quickly boarded a flight from New York to Las Vegas, Nevada.

If these two cities are moved to China, then New York, located on the east coast, is probably in Tianjin, while Las Vegas in the northwest is almost equivalent to Dihua in the Western Regions. With a mid-range transfer, it is not surprising that the flight will last for seven hours.

As soon as Patrice got on the plane, he started to sleep. Lu Qiujian waited until the plane was stable and took out the luggage bag from the luggage rack, took out the book he had prepared yesterday and looked it out.

Anyone who has been on the plane knows that long-term flight is a very boring thing. After searching through the magazines provided by the airline, the middle-aged man sitting next to him turned his attention to Lu Qiujian. Out of his professional habits as a salesman, he began to judge his identity based on Lu Qiujian's dress and appearance. The fabric of the clothing was average but clean, which shows that he is a person who pays more attention to his own image, but his financial conditions are not very good. He looks very focused on his reading, and he is not distracted by the bumps of the plane and the gaze of others. Then there is the book in his hand, Ben-Mozridge's newly published "Black Decisive Points" this year...

Combined with the destination of this trip, our salesman, Mr. Williams, quickly smiled confidently. He felt that he had guessed the identity of the young man around him. This was a Chinese boy from the middle and lower class. Through his diligence and some talent, he was admitted to a good university. His major should be science and engineering. This hard-working child might have accidentally seen this story about a mathematical genius returning home in Las Vegas by relying on card counting. Then, out of confidence in his genius, the young man couldn't wait to bring his pitiful savings to board a flight to Las Vegas.

This is exactly the same as the reason why I first set foot in Las Vegas. The only difference is that I read Edward Thorpe's "Battle of the Banker". Williams smiled with a self-deprecating smile, "Young man, do you want to rely on this book to conquer Las Vegas? If so, you probably won't have enough people!"

"Oh, have you read this book too?" Lu Qiujian looked up and said that his experience of gambling came from books and movies. It would be great if someone could give me some advice.

""Black Blade", Thorpe's "Battle of the Banker", Dalton's "Super System"...", Williams spit out more than ten professional books about gambling skills at a fast speed like a machine gun. "I have read almost all the books on gambling that can be bought in the bookstore, but I can only sit in the second class cabin like you! Young people, don't be confused by these so-called skills, gamblers will never defeat the casino!"

"But... the skills mentioned above seem to be really useful!" Lu Qiujian turned to the page about card counting skills, "This method is theoretically feasible! According to the algorithm he gave, it can indeed improve the winning rate of blackjack!"

"But you overlooked a problem! The protagonist in the book has a team serving him, card counting, game controller, big player!" Williams pointed to Patrice beside him and said, "and you only brought a 'bodyguard'! This is far from enough."

Well, Lu Qiujian looked back at Patrice who was sleeping soundly. He had to say that his figure did look like a bodyguard.

"You need someone to do the calculations for you behind the scenes." Williams glanced at his top pocket, "or you thought using electronic devices could solve this problem, but casinos are not vegetarians. Almost every casino has anti-electronic devices installed. Once they find you cheating, you will be finished in your life!"

"Oh? Can you tell me about the situation in the casino?" Lu Qiujian distracted the topic at the right time. He has solved the problem of algorithms. What is needed now is how to avoid the casino from finding out that he counts cards!

"I go to Las Vegas almost every holiday, and I can't be familiar with where I can..." After finally finding a topic that can pass the boring journey, Williams immediately chatted about the situation of major casinos in Las Vegas to Lu Qiujian.

The flight landed in Las Vegas, and the three of them took a taxi to the outside of the casino door, "I'll go in first, I wish you good luck!" Williams patted his shoulder and left first.
