This is a reduction kalpa. From the 10 years old, one year is increased by one year every hundred years, and it increases to 84,000-year-old man's life span. This decrease and increase is a small catastrophe in Buddhism, and such a small catastrophe is almost equivalent to 16,800-year-old man's life.
After the small catastrophe, there are four kalpas of formation, existence, destruction and emptiness. Each kalpa is twenty small kalpas, so it is 335.96 million years. The four kalpas of formation, existence, destruction and emptiness are added together. This is a great kalpa, which is equivalent to the existence of the past majestic kalpa, present and future star kalpas mentioned by Buddhism. If you calculate this way, how old is a great kalpa? It is 1.34,384,000 years.
For 1.3438 million years, this is what they believe is the world where a generation of Buddhas should be wiped out. They put their history in an unexplorable past, and believed that they had already passed a great disaster to enter today's Buddhism, and defined the present in the current calamity.
Now, the current calamity of virtuousness has only been over two thousand years, which is a drop in the bucket compared to the 1.3 billion years they expected. So in theory, they also believe that they can enjoy 1.3 billion years of happiness and well-being.
What is the concept of 1.3 billion years? For immortals and Buddhas, the gods born among humans, 1.3 billion years are almost equivalent to immortality and close to eternity. Therefore, the past, present and future three catastrophes are just a cover in the end. It is just a false statement that demonstrates one's own height and magnitude.
Tathagata is in charge of the current valor and will enjoy the position of the Lord for 1.3 billion years. Convert the concept, which means that Tathagata hopes that he can be in the Pure Land forever and immortality. What is the future Buddha Maitreya? You still have 1.3 billion years to wait, so you just squat down obediently. It is impossible for you to be the leader now.
This is like the ambition from one's own body and the luxury of the entire Buddhist sect. They have repeated this ambition billions of times. I'm afraid that many guys who originally knew that this was just a lie have begun to regard it as true. It is like having a beautiful dream, because this dream is so beautiful, they ignore the reality and immerse themselves in this beautiful dream. And hope that this beautiful dream can continue.
However, they obviously forgot one thing, that is, dreams will wake up after all. No matter what posture you are in, this dream cannot last forever. It will eventually retreat in front of reality. Either you wake up actively, or you are passively awakened by others. There is no other possibility.
Buddhism is now awakened, and the extinction of Tathagata is definitely the most cruel blow to them. Many people are still in a trance when facing such a reality. They don’t know whether to be happy or sad, and they can’t even distinguish between dream reality. However, not everyone is like this. No matter what, there are still some wise people in Buddhism, some who can see the reality clearly and recognize the current affairs.
These people can clearly see that the crisis facing Buddhism is now. It cannot be solved by the Nirvana of Tathagata. In fact, the Nirvana of Tathagata only provides them with an opportunity, an opportunity to resolve the crisis. He has done everything he can do, and everything else can be achieved through their continued efforts.
Whether Buddhism dies or lives depends on them. They obviously have realized the heavy responsibility they shoulder. So immediately, as the second-in-commander of Buddhism, Guanyin, the head of the four great Bodhisattvas, stood up and bowed to Zhou Yi, who was in the supreme position of heaven.
"The Emperor of Heaven is above. Now that the Western Paradise of Pure Land is broken, even the Buddha of Tathagata has already died in Nirvana. My Buddhism can be said to be a great defeat and decline, and I can no longer be an enemy of Your Majesty. Therefore, I only ask Your Majesty to be kind and forgive my Buddhism for a time."
"Forgive me? If I read it correctly, you are Guanyin Bodhisattva."
