Chapter 2211 Worried and the final farewell

"What does this mean?" Natasha did not answer Maria's question, but repeated what she had just said in a different tone. This meant that she had obviously thought of something, but out of some concern, she didn't even believe her own guess.

As for her indefinite rhetoric, Maria took a deep breath and then silently smiled bitterly.

"I don't know in fact, I don't know why I'm scared now. But I'm just afraid, afraid of the most terrible situation."

Having said this, even though she had experienced many battles, she couldn't help swallowing, showing a mixed expression of confusion and horror.

"Maybe it sounds ridiculous, but I am really afraid that one day when I open my eyes, I will find that Tony Stark is no longer the identity he is now. He is no longer the president of the United States, no longer the Iron Man we are familiar with, and may not even be a human being. If this is the case, what should I do? What will this world become?"

"Hiss!" Although there was a similar guess in his heart, Natasha was obviously not as serious and profound as Maria thought. Whether it was alarmist or crazy murmur. In short, the moment he heard Maria say these words, Natasha was stunned, and then the hair on her body couldn't help but explode.

This is a sign of fear. Even though none of this has happened, Natasha couldn't help but become scared just by listening to Maria's description.

She really couldn't believe how everything Maria said could have happened. But what she said was so serious that she couldn't help but imagine what would happen if all this happened. The more she thought about it, the more she became afraid, the more she became thirsty she became. So when she came to her senses, her voice became hoarse.

"How is this possible? I mean, this is just your personal guess. You have no evidence to prove everything you said, right? Maybe it's just that you are too careful, maybe it's just that you've made a wrong judgment. How could such a thing happen?"

"I also hope that I was too careful, and I also hope that I had a problem in my mind for a moment. But if there is no certain evidence, can I be confident that I would say such things? Or do you think I was already blinded by power and just want to oust Tony from the stage so impatiently?"

Of course, Natasha would not think so. Because he knew Maria Hill very well. This woman was not the kind of person who was attached to power. Otherwise, she would not have resolutely abandoned the status of S.H.E.L.D. and turned to work for the independent Avengers. So, she would have such a terrible guess that she would not want to seek something. Instead, she really foreseeed and guessed something. It was just such a thing.

Thinking of this, Natasha couldn't help but shake her head and said to her.

"Sorry, I still can't believe it. The things you said alone cannot prove what you said. Tony is a technology expert, maybe this is just an upgrade of his own technology. You're too fussy!"

"I know that these things in my hands cannot prove anything. But since I say that, I naturally have more than one such evidence in my hands."

Since she had already told Natasha the biggest secret in her heart, Maria naturally had nothing to worry about. She opened her arms and told Natasha all the secret matters.

"First of all, I'm worried that it's not just because of the changes in Tony. It's more about the contact between him and Ultron. I want to ask you, do you know anything?"

"Ultron? The artificial intelligence system created by Tony and Bruce that specializes in managing smart machines? What's wrong with him? Isn't he still running normally? Isn't the smart machines on the streets he is managing?"

Natasha obviously didn't know much about Ultron's situation. When she was at her best, she was just a top agent. And if she wanted to get into the deepest secrets of a country, she would definitely not be qualified. So in her mind, Ultron was still the original Ultron, without any changes.

Seeing that she really didn't know anything, Maria just hummed and then said to him in a low voice.

"Your news is out of date. Earlier last year, Ultron was turned off by Tony for some things. Since then, Jarvis has been the one who controls intelligence. Of course, these things are just what we know, and where we don't know, all of this has changed completely differently."

Natasha was a little confused when she said this. She couldn't understand what Maria was saying. What is a different change? Just an intelligent system. Can she still have a major plot reversal like in the movie?

Looking at her expression, a meaningful sneer appeared on Maria's face.

"Do you think it's just a simple system? No, I tell you, it's no longer something a system can tell. It's a life, a real creature with self-thinking and cognition, and is completely different from humans. According to those experts, it should be called a network intelligent life. Do you know what this means?"

"Please, I'm not a philosopher, nor a sociologist, what can I know?"

Rolling his eyes, Natasha obviously didn't have the intention to continue to ask questions and answers with Maria like this. In response, Maria just took a deep sip of the cigarette in her hand, and then said to her.

"All living things come from freedom. When they become a truly independent living body, it means that no one can impose their own ideas on him anymore. He will make his own choice, and this choice is based on his personal position. Do you think a life that is fundamentally different from humans can make choices that are beneficial to humans?"

Natasha was not willing to make any comments on this question. Because she knew that her answer must be different from what Maria thought. So she just kept silent, making Maria think she had seen her thoughts clearly, and then thoughtfully conceived the answer she imagined.

"You must be the same as I thought, and you can't have any expectations for them. Or, as humans, how can we hand over our future to the hands of such so-called intelligent life?"

"But didn't you say that Ultron has been closed by Tony! So your concerns are simply unnecessary. He may not be able to threaten human safety at all."

"I said, that's just a situation we know. And where we don't know, there is another situation!" Waving his hand, interrupting Natasha's words. Maria said to her directly.

"Do you know why Phillips, the former director of FBI, was kicked off the stage? Because the base where Ultron was closed was broken by Hydra. Afterwards, I specially sent someone to secretly investigate the base. Apart from the wreckage and biological organizations in the area, there was nothing left. Ultron! Before I could report this matter, Tony had already sent someone to secretly close it. Don't you think all this is suspicious?"

"Maybe." Natasha's answer was frowning, and in fact, Natasha's heart had already begun to believe Maria's guess. But she still couldn't believe that Tony Stark would really be mixed with an intelligent life. Is it necessary for him to do this? What can he get in this way? These are all unanswered questions.

No matter what, humans are a life that instinctively tends to benefit. Without interests, he has no need to do so. Unless, as it is really the most serious situation in Maria's guess, he is no longer a human being. But how is this possible!

Shaking his head and trying hard to dispel this idea. Natasha frowned and said to Maria.

"I still can't believe that Tony would actually collude with an intelligent life. There is no benefit in doing this at all. Moreover, looking at the smart machines outside and looking at Tony's actions, they don't seem to be anything wrong, right?"

"This is just an appearance, just a status quo. What I see is something deeper, the future!"

After a moment of silence, Maria knew that it was impossible for her to convince Natasha with just a few words. She had no idea at all. So at that moment, she stood up and said goodbye to Natasha.

"I just want to say what I know. Now I have told you everything. As for whether you believe it or not, it will be your best. In short, time will prove everything I said."

"So, what are your plans? I don't think you'll give up so easily!"

"I don't know!" Facing Natasha's inquiry, Maria also sighed and showed a confused look. "I just guessed the danger. I have no idea how to deal with it now. So I can only supervise all this now. If one day something unexpected happens to me, I hope you can announce the things I told you. That's enough!"

"I will!" Holding Maria's hand, Natasha fulfilled her last responsibility. "If there really is one day, I will. I promise you!"

"Thank you!" Maria broke away from Natasha's palm. She walked straight outside, but said something surprised Natasha.

"See you right now. Then, as a friend, I want to congratulate you on having a good boyfriend. But, do you really know him?"
