Chapter 2489 Unwilling to face this cruel world

"Anyway, I'll tell you all the stories I've heard from the older generation."

Xiao Sun no longer cares about anything:

"It is said that there was no river in Chengshui very early. One day, a beggar appeared on the street. One of his legs were covered with holes and stenched all over his body. No one wanted to approach him. The beggar curled up on the corner of the street and moaned every day. It looked terrible, as if he would die anytime and anywhere, and people passing by were avoiding him.

Finally one day, an old man selling vegetables felt pity when he saw the beggar like this. He actually brought the beggar home and begged the doctor to help the beggar see the doctor. He helped the beggar take a bath and applied medicine. Under his careful care, the beggar got better day by day, and the broken holes in his legs gradually closed.

This beggar is very lazy. He only ate but does nothing every day. Sometimes the food is not up to his taste, and he is still dissatisfied with the old man who buys vegetables. The old man's neighbors all say that he has a ungrateful wolf, but the old man doesn't care but just smiles. In his opinion, helping others may not necessarily bring any reward.

Half a year passed like this, one morning, the beggar disappeared. The old man was wondering, and suddenly the rays of light in the sky attracted all the neighbors. Just as everyone was talking, a huge figure and two heads suddenly appeared in the sky, which scared the old man and the villagers and knelt on the ground.

The god told everyone that he was the god of good and evil in heaven, the head on the left was the god of evil, and the head on the right was the god of good, and the one who spoke to the villagers now was the god of good. The god of good and evil told everyone that this time he was just here to test the kindness of Cheng Shui people, and he became a beggar. As long as Cheng Shui someone could help him, the city would be rewarded.

After saying that, the God of Good waved his hand, and the wind, rain, thunder and lightning were shaking in the sky, and the earth was shaking. Everyone was scared. The God of Good and Evil comforted them not to be afraid. It took more than an hour to finally return to peace. A river surrounding Chengshui appeared. The God of Good and Evil told everyone that this river was called "Ci'en River". This name was only known as "Ci'en River" in order to repay the kindness of the old man selling vegetables. Relying on the Ci'en River, Chengshui will live a prosperous life from then on.

He also told everyone to be grateful, humble, and to maintain such kindness, so Chengshui will always be so rich and his descendants will continue to continue."

Lei Huanxi and Adrien looked at each other when they heard this.

Such myths are found in any country.

Even the version of the story is similar.

Of course, this story is just the beginning.

The most critical part has not begun yet.

Sure enough, Xiao Sun continued:

"After this, as the God of Good and Evil said, relying on the River of Ci'en, the water has become more and more prosperous. No matter what you plant, as long as you water the water on Ci'en River, it will grow very lush. Through Ci'en River, you can also carry out very convenient water transportation with other cities. If you go down any network, the aquatic products you capture will always make you return with a full load.

After hundreds of years, the water-shui people gradually became arrogant and extravagant. They no longer wanted to work hard, and they could eat and drink with the river. Moreover, they began to become selfish and no longer willing to care for others or take care of others. What they were thinking about was how to make their lives better.

The God of Good and Evil knew about Chengshui's changes, and he became a beggar again, exactly the same as the first time. As long as someone was willing to help him, he would still give Chengshui another chance. But what disappointed the God of Good and Evil was that not only did no one be willing to help him like the old man selling vegetables, on the contrary, people passing by were spitting on him, and even smashing him hard with stones, and shouting to get out loud.

Later, there were several rich local people who thought that such a beggar was in the water and destroyed the local Feng Shui, so they planned to kill him quietly and find a place to bury him. And they really did this. They asked their servants to kill the beggar with wooden sticks, and then found a place to dig a big hole.

Just as everyone was about to throw the beggar into the pit, the sky suddenly became dark clouds, and the god of good and evil appeared again. Unlike the last time, this time the god of evil appeared. The god of evil looked at the group of dumb people coldly and told them that they had long forgotten their warnings and became greedy, cruel and ruthless.

So the God of Good and Evil decided to take back everything he had given Chengshui. After saying this, the God of Good and Evil disappeared. But no abnormality happened after that. The man of Chengshui who had been in a state of anxiety for several days thought that it was just the God of Good and Evil who was intimidating himself, and no one was relieved to worry about it. However, the real punishment came soon.

The Ci'en River became a dead river, and the crops irrigated by the river water will soon die. The originally convenient water transportation, all the branches leading to the outside world were blocked. No matter how hard the fishermen tried, they could no longer catch a fish in the river. Soon, the wealthy water quickly became dilapidated, and at this time, everyone regretted it.

They knelt together on the ground, begging for the understanding of the good and evil gods, but the good and evil gods never appeared again. The water withered day by day, and no one could see hope. Everyone fled the city one after another, and those who stayed were spending every day in sorrow and despair. They regretted it, but it was too late."

This is a legend circulating in Chengshui.

This legend is known to be water for the rest of my life, and has been described by generations of ancestors in oral form.

This kind of legend abounds, almost everywhere, and Lei Huanxi and Adrien are very convinced.

People in many places believe in this myth when they encounter misfortunes.

At least, this can give them a kind of spiritual comfort.

The current dilemma is not because I don’t work hard, but because I or this place has been subjected to some terrible curse.

In fact, where will the curse exist? These are just excuses found by these people.

But they would rather remain numb under such excuses than face reality, or they would not be willing to face this cruel real world.

This is probably the reason why Chengshui City exists. If you tell too many lies, you will even believe it.
