Chapter 5 The Shameless Demands of the British

The information handed over by the secretary shows that Churchill was born in a noble family in England. After graduating from high school, he transferred to the Royal Military Academy of Sanhurst. (eng.com_) In 1893, Churchill entered the cavalry major of the school. Two years later, his unsuccessful father died early. In February of the same year, Churchill graduated from the military academy and was assigned to the Fourth Hussar Regiment as a lieutenant.

Churchill also personally participated in the war of the local people's uprising in Cuba, worked for the British intelligence department during the war, and became a military reporter.

In 1896, he was transferred to India with the troops and interviewed a military operation in Britain as a military reporter. In September 1899, Churchill went to Africa as a reporter to interview the British-British War, but unfortunately was captured. In the end, Churchill was extremely bold and successfully escaped alone. The prison escape incident made him famous. In March 1900, Churchill, who had experienced several more battles, finally returned to Britain and began to enter the political arena.

However, Churchill's career after participating in politics was not smooth. He was neglected because he and Prime Minister Chamberlain disagree with various policies.

A few months ago, Churchill entered India as a travel and colony investigation. He did not expect to visit Tang Jian today as a British envoy.

Tang Jian is well-known to Churchill. Churchill served as prime minister twice during World War II, leading the British to bravely fight against Hitler's Third Emperor team, and eventually led Britain to win the Second World War. The world-famous "War of Great Britain" was his hand and was recognized as one of the most important political leaders of the 20th century.

Tang Jian once read Churchill's past work "Memoirs of World War II" and has always admired this stubborn British gentleman. Now that he heard that Churchill was coming to visit him, Tang Jian felt a little hopeful.

At the same time, Tang Jian was also happy about the detailed information collected by the CIA. Tang Jian did not expect that Li Gates's work efficiency was very high. He even arranged the CIA branches to the UK. He is worthy of being a professional intelligence expert!

Tang Jian closed the folder and said to his secretary: "Notify Churchill, I will meet him in the reception hall of the Presidential Palace this afternoon."

The secretary took the folder, bowed and responded, and then took it to the door and slowly retreated.

Tang Shaoyi said: "President, the British envoy must be not a good thing to come this time."

Tang Jian smiled and said, "I know that British people have always been uneasy. The main reason is that I want to meet Churchill, and by the way I want to hear what news he has brought to me."

Yan Fu stood up and said, "Since the president has decided, let's go ahead."

Tang Jian nodded, Yan Fu, Tang Shaoyi and Bafeite left Tang Jian's office.

Tang Jian sat back on his big chair, pulled out a cigarette and began to suck up the mist, thinking to himself: I don’t know what kind of person Churchill is!

In the afternoon, a gorgeous carriage was parked outside the Presidential Palace. A young man jumped out of the carriage quickly. The first thing he did when he jumped was not to tidy up his suit, but to take a cigar from his assistant, skillfully light the cigar and start looking at the Prime Minister's Mansion in front of him.

Churchill was wearing a black suit and his leather shoes were shiny in the afternoon sun. His blue eyes shot sharply, making people dare not look directly at him.

When Churchill saw the presidential palace with British architectural characteristics in front of him, a smug smile appeared on the corner of his mouth. Then, he winked at his assistant and walked into the fenced iron gate outside the Prime Minister's House with solid steps.

The Chinese government officials had already been waiting behind the iron gate. The young Chinese government official smiled and introduced Churchill into the hall of the Prime Minister's Office.

When a few people walked to the reception room on the second floor, the Chinese government officials who greeted Churchill spoke fluent London-sounding English and said politely: "Dear Envoy, our President is handling state affairs. I will go in and inform you now, and you can wait."

Churchill nodded gentlemanly, and was surprised by the official's pure British English. Unexpectedly, there was a hidden dragon and a tiger in China. Then, under the guidance of the official, Churchill naturally found a sofa with his assistant to sit down.

When Churchill sat down, a hint of displeasure flashed in his eyes. He turned to ask his assistant: "Did you notify their president in the morning? I'm going to visit him?"

Churchill's assistant clearly felt the displeasure in Churchill's tone, so he had to wipe the sweat from his forehead and apologize: "Sorry, Lord Churchill, I have personally notified their president's secretary in the morning."

Churchill snorted coldly, leaned against the sofa and began to close his eyes to rest, but the cigar in his hand had never stopped. After a while, a thin cloud of smoke lingered in the entire hall.

After a while, the Chinese government official who greeted Churchill walked out of Tang Jian's office. He walked to Churchill and bowed apologetically: "Dear Special Envoy, because our President is dealing with urgent state affairs, please wait for a while."

Churchill paused for a moment in smoking a cigar, and suddenly opened his eyes. A sharp look made the officials dare not look directly at him. Churchill just said in a plain tone: "Okay, President Tang Jian is so busy with state affairs, so let's wait here for a while."

The official bowed apologetically and then stepped down. However, the assistant beside Churchill was not very good. He kept wiping the cold sweat from his forehead with his handkerchief. He had been following Churchill for so long, and naturally knew Churchill's temper.

In fact, Tang Jian did not come out to greet Churchill in person just now, and Churchill felt a little displeasure at that time. After all, he was the special envoy of the British Empire. But now he actually let the grand British envoy wait outside the door? Is this Tang Jian too arrogant? The assistant secretly complained in his heart.

An hour later, just as Churchill couldn't help but be ready to leave with anger, the door of Tang Jian's office suddenly opened, and the secretary beside him quickly met him and whispered: "President, the British envoy has been waiting for an hour."

Tang Jian smiled. He deliberately asked Churchillo to wait for an hour. He wanted to see how this legendary figure in history would react after being released by someone.

Tang Jian walked to Churchill, politely stretched out his right hand, and greeted Churchill kindly like an old friend who hadn't been here for a long time: "Dear Lord Churchill, I'm really sorry for you to wait for a long time!"

Churchill also stood up at this time, stretched out his right hand and shook hands with Tang Jian. When he shook hands with Tang Jian, Churchill began to carefully look at the political leader of this new country.

In Churchill's eyes, Tang Jian looks younger than the one in the photo. He looks heroic and heroic, with bright sunshines and wide, thick and powerful palms. The first feeling that he gives people is that he is like this country, with a kind of vitality in his new life.

After Tang Jian and Churchill sat down one after another, Churchill smiled and said, "No President Tang Jian can speak a pure English? Haha."

Tang Jian said modestly: "Haha, Your Excellency Churchill has won the award. I have studied in the UK, so it is not surprising that I can learn English."

Churchill looked around and continued, "Ah, President Tang Jian, it seems that you also like British things. You can speak English and even the Presidential Palace adopts British-style buildings. It seems that our great British Empire has affected every corner of the world."

Tang Jian asked: "His Excellency Churchill, what you mean is that your British things are at the advanced level in the world. Can I understand that you are boasting that Britain is very powerful?"

Churchill asked back, "Isn't it? The most powerful warships in the world are built by our country. The British Empire has the largest number of colonies in the world and the most powerful ocean fleet. British culture has influenced the world. Isn't this enough to prove the power of Britain?"

"So what if that is the case? You say that the most powerful warships in the world are built by your country, but why did your Navy use four monarch-class battleships to exchange for our latest triple-mounted main gun technology? You say that you have the most colonies in the world, but that part of these colonies was not knocked on the doors of other countries by you European gentlemen with barbaric force, and then used bloody and cruel means to deprive the colonial aboriginals? You say that you have the most powerful ocean fleet? But, respected Lord Churchill, don't forget that when you British people were driving sailboats to explore the world, did you use the compass invented by that country? Also, did you mean the brutal and barbaric beast culture of you Europeans?" Tang family asked.

"You..." Churchill blushed, and Tang Jian's series of questions made him overwhelmed. Moreover, what Tang Jian said was the facts, gunpowder, compass, papermaking, and movable type printing, each of which was spread from this ancient country in the Far East.

Tang Jian continued: "When you Europe was eating raw meat and drinking blood, our country already had an advanced and splendid culture like Confucius."

Churchill tried hard to calm his anger. He had another more important purpose for this trip, so he no longer wanted to have unnecessary debates with Tang Jian.

Churchill forced a smile and said, "President Tang Jian is indeed knowledgeable and talented. Churchill admires it. In fact, I have an important thing to discuss with President Tang Jian on this trip. Regarding the questions asked by President Tang Jian just now, I think we should wait until we have time to talk about them!"

Tang Jian snorted coldly in his heart, it was indeed a purpose!
