Chapter 706 Arms Race

Faced with the rapid rise of the German economy, the Chinese Empire naturally raised its vigilance.

To this end, the Emperor of the Chinese Empire, Wang Chenhao, specially convened an imperial meeting. In view of Hitler's militant nature, the Chinese Empire decided to provoke a new round of arms race, forcing the German League to join the arms race, thus dragging down the German League's economy.

If you want to force Hitler to join the arms race, you must be afraid. Therefore, the Chinese Empire military disclosed its nuclear arsenal for the first time and the nuclear strike power of the Chinese Empire's strategic artillery unit (also known as the Second Artillery).

In the 47th year of Guanghua, the Chinese Empire had 1,450 nuclear weapons. Among them, 720 airdrop nuclear warheads were airdropped, with a minimum explosion equivalent of 100,000 tons and a maximum equivalent of 1.7 million tons. The missiles were equipped with 700 nuclear warheads, with an explosion equivalent of 50,000 to 300,000 tons. The gunfires 30 nuclear warheads were fired, with an explosion equivalent of 7,600 to 34,000 tons.

The Chinese Empire Congress passed the decision to increase the military budget on a large scale in the 47th fiscal year of Guanghua. The Chinese Empire's defense expenditure increased by 210% compared with the previous year, reaching 20.953 billion dragon coins, accounting for 33.3% of fiscal expenditure. At a time when countries around the world were disarmament on a large scale to deal with the economic dilemma, the Chinese Empire suddenly increased military expenditure on a large scale, just like a huge rock falling on a calm lake, which immediately aroused a rippling reaction around the world.

The Chinese Empire military announced the purpose of a surge in military spending. It is mainly used to increase the reserve of nuclear warheads, increase the attack radius and accuracy of strategic artillery missiles, increase the strike range of strategic air force, and increase the number of naval nuclear aircraft carriers and nuclear submarines.

As the whole of Europe united, the NATO military group led by the German Union controls the entire European continent.

Before World War I, the British navy had always blocked various strategic channels for the German navy to enter the ocean. Now after two world wars, the old naval power of Britain has declined, and the Imperial Navy can only replace the British navy and continue to block the German navy and enter the ocean.

Therefore, the Chinese Empire's navy had to step up efforts to blockade the German Union and NATO, so as not to expand its military power to the whole world, and could only lie near the sea of Europe forever.

In order to prevent the German Union Navy from rising again into the Blue Ocean Navy, the Imperial Chinese Navy became a key development force after World War II.

Since the role of aircraft carriers far exceeded that of battleships during the two world wars, the BB faction within the Imperial Navy gradually gave way to the CV faction, and the aircraft carriers, as the core force of the naval fleet, were officially determined by the Imperial Navy.

Through long-term practical tests, the Chinese Empire Navy confirmed the huge war potential of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers. Its characteristic of not refueling fuel is particularly important during the war, and it can go deep into enemy-occupied areas for a long time to fight without requiring supply from the rear.

The USS Taishan nuclear-powered aircraft carrier that the Imperial Chinese Navy served during World War II, as well as the other four aircraft carriers of the Taishan class that were successively in service at the end of World War II [cvn-38] Hengshan, [cvn-39] Songshan, [cvn-40] Hengshan and [cvn-41] Huashan. These five nuclear-powered aircraft carriers became the core force of the Imperial Chinese Navy, ensuring that the continuous cruise of all seas in the world after the war and maintaining the deterrence of the Imperial Chinese Navy in all seas around the world. No other countries can do this because the fuel money burned by their warships every day has become a serious drag.

The advantages of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers are very obvious. Therefore, the Imperial Navy of the Chinese Empire allocated funds again to start construction of three nuclear-powered aircraft carriers in Guanghua forty-seven years.

The Lushan-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier was built at the same level, named after the three famous mountains of the Chinese Empire, namely the Lushan, [cvn-42], the Huangshan, and the Yandangshan.

The Lushan-class aircraft carrier has a designed quasi-displacement of 78,400 tons and a full load displacement of 101,600 tons, which is slightly larger than the Taishan-class aircraft carrier. However, the overall layout has not changed much, and it is an improved version based on the Taishan-class aircraft carrier.

The ship is 332.3 meters long, 40.1 meters wide, and has a draft of 11.56 meters. Its flight deck is 332 meters long and 77 meters wide. It uses a pressurized water nuclear reactor with better stability and lower cost as the power source, with four-axis and four-spin propulsion, with a maximum speed of 33.4 knots. It can carry about 122 fighters of all types of Imperial Navy Air Force, such as f6, f8, a5 and other jets. It can carry up to 150. The b2 tactical bomber is no longer required to be on board, because after actual combat in World War II, it was shown that the b2 tactical bomber is not very effective. Is the landing large and accidents often occur, so the navy switched to the a5 attack aircraft instead of the ground attack function.

The entire ship requires more than 3,400 people to board the ship, plus more than 2,500 Shanghai Air Force, and nearly 6,000 full-time personnel. The self-sustaining force on the ship is about 150 days. The self-sustaining force on the aircraft carrier is replaced every 15 years.

The Lushan-class aircraft carrier shipbuilding budget is 705 million dragon coins, more than 70 million higher than the Taishan-class. The Lushan-class aircraft carrier's military system still has a Net-40 Vulcan dense array system for close-range air defense, but the electronic warfare system is much more advanced than the Taishan-class. The aircraft carrier is equipped with more advanced radar arrays and 320 radar devices in various bands, which can provide carrier-based aircraft combat groups with air and sea target parameters within a radius of 500 kilometers, with a distance azimuth error of about 10 meters and 3 tight positions. At the same time, 160 air and sea targets can be tracked, and 25 of them can be locked at the same time.

Since the Chinese Empire was about to set off a new round of arms race and maintain high military pressure on the German League and NATO, three Lushan-class aircraft carriers were started at the same time to stimulate the enemy to join the arms race, thereby achieving the ultimate strategic goal of economically dragging down the enemy.

Nuclear power is the main direction for the Chinese Empire to increase military expenditure on a large scale. Therefore, in addition to the construction of three new nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, nuclear submarines have also become the new combat force of the Chinese Empire's navy.

At the Imperial Military Conference, Wang Chenhao gave important instructions. He pointed out that the most strategic deterrent effect in the future is not the aircraft carrier on the sea, nor the strategic bomber in the sky, nor the strategic nuclear missile with a range of Berlin, because these weapon platforms are exposed to the surface, and the enemy can make targeted defense deployment in advance. The real killer weapon comes from the submarines under the sea, because the submarines can lurk under the water for a long time, quietly approach the enemy when they are not discovered by the enemy, and suddenly attack important enemy targets, making it difficult for the enemy to make effective defense.

Since the Chinese Navy built the first nuclear-powered submarine in human history before World War II, the Nautilus, the Chinese Navy has completed the feat of the seabed crossing the Arctic Ocean for the first time. This is very beneficial to the overall layout of the Sino-German Cold War and the Warsaw NATO military confrontation. It is very beneficial to the Chinese Empire, because the nuclear submarine of the Chinese Empire can pass through the Arctic Ocean and suddenly appear in the strategic rear of the German Union. If it carries nuclear missiles, it will play a decisive strategic role after approaching the important political, economic and military centers of the German Union.

Based on Wang Chenhao's strategic intention, the General Staff of the Chinese Empire and the Navy jointly prepared the strategic nuclear submarine force. The General Staff required the nuclear submarine to be assigned to the command of the Strategic Command, but the Navy refused to let go and insisted that the nuclear submarine be directly under the Navy Fleet Command. The lawsuits between the two sides eventually reached the Forbidden City. In the end, Wang Chenhao made a ruling.

The Chinese Empire's nuclear submarine power is divided into two submarine forces: strategic nuclear submarine and attack nuclear submarine. Strategic nuclear submarines are directly commanded by the Strategic Command, and attack nuclear submarines are commanded by the Navy Fleet Command.

According to the division rules proposed by Wang Chenhao, the mission of nuclear submarines and weapons are divided.

Strategic submarines are specially used to perform strategic tasks, and their main tasks are to attack the opponent's land strategic targets (cities, military bases, transportation hubs, etc.). Attack submarines are for combat tactical tasks. They mainly engage in mobile naval battles, perform escorts, anti-submarines, attack surface ships, mine laying, reconnaissance, transporting frogmen, etc., and can also attack near-land targets.

The main attack weapons of strategic submarines are medium- and long-range ballistic missiles and intercontinental missiles, most of which are nuclear warheads. Torpedoes, air defense missiles, etc. are self-defense weapons. Therefore, strategic missile submarines make a country's deterrent force, a powerful weapon to enhance national status and ensure national security, and are under the command of the Strategic Command.

The main weapons of attack submarines are torpedoes, cruise missiles, mines, air defense missiles, frogman transport cabins, etc. If necessary, with the approval of the Strategic Command, they can also be equipped with nuclear torpedoes, nuclear missiles and nuclear mines.

Due to the different weapons carrying platforms and combat purposes, the displacement of strategic missile submarines of the Chinese Empire was defined as being at least 8,000 tons. The water surface has strong ability to resist wind and waves and sea surges. It has a stable nuclear missile launch platform.

Since Wang Chenhao finally became the Holy Reign, the dispute between the General Staff and the Navy naturally ended. Whether both sides were happy or not, Wang Chenhao's will cannot be changed. Therefore, the Strategic Command and the Navy Fleet Command began to prepare their respective nuclear submarines respectively.

The Chinese Empire served the first ship of the Yuan-class nuclear submarine, the Nautilus, in the early stages of the outbreak of World War II. According to the new regulations, the Nautilus nuclear submarine was classified as the attack nuclear submarine category and belonged to the Navy Department.

Therefore, the Navy then plans to continue to build the remaining seventeen Yuan-class nuclear submarines in 20 years, and cooperate with the Navy's 99 Fleet, that is, each aircraft carrier battle group is equipped with two attack nuclear submarines.

The Nautilus nuclear submarine has undergone five years of trial voyage. The Navy General Administration has conducted in-depth discussions on the performance indicators of the Nautilus nuclear submarine and the necessary innovations to adapt to future wars. On this basis, the subsequent design of the Meta-class attack nuclear submarine was soon released.

In order to meet the needs of the Sino-German Cold War, the Chinese Empire Navy will start construction of four Yuan-class attack nuclear submarines in the next five years, in fact, to accumulate experience. When the Lushan-class nuclear-powered aircraft carrier battle group forms combat effectiveness, the corresponding electronic equipment will be greatly improved. At that time, the Navy will start to build a subsequent series of Yuan-class attack nuclear submarines.

The four Yuan-class attack nuclear submarines are similar. Take the Cn-ssn-703 Sturgeon as an example. The boat is 84.9 meters long, 9.6 meters wide, with an underwater displacement of 4,300 tons. The power unit is the same as the Nautilus. In order to reduce noise, a single-axis propulsion method is adopted. The maximum underwater speed is 30 knots and a staffing staff of 127 people. This class of boats uses high-strength Chinese special steel labeled Hy-280 for the first time, increasing its safety submarine depth to 300 meters, and in fact the maximum submarine depth can reach 410 meters. In terms of propulsion systems, it has adopted three sets of main, auxiliary and emergency devices for the first time. Its torpedo launch tubes have been reduced to 4, increasing the number of spare torpedoes, 6 more than the Nautilus, reaching 54.

The attack nuclear submarine has the ready-made Nautilus for reference, so the progress is very smooth. However, for strategic nuclear submarines, the progress is much slower. It is reflected in the installation of ballistic missiles in the Chinese Empire onto nuclear submarines, and all aspects need to be changed.

According to the naming rules of the warships of the Chinese Empire, strategic nuclear submarines are uniformly classified as Ming-class and are still named after fish.

The Ming-class strategic nuclear submarine was finally designed and completed in Guanghua for 49 years, and the first four ships were built. They named the four famous fishes of the Chinese Empire, cn-ssn-801 Yangtze River Anchovies, cn-ssn-802 Yellow River Carp, cn-ssn-803 Songjiang Perch, and cn-ssn-804 Taihu Silver Fish.

Taking the last built Silverfish strategic nuclear submarine as an example, the boat is 116.3 meters long, 10.1 meters wide, and has a draft of 8.8 meters. The water displacement is 6,100 tons and the underwater displacement is 7,670 tons. The water cruise speed is 16 knots and 28 knots underwater. The standard diving depth is 213 meters, the maximum diving depth is 302 meters, the self-sustaining force is 60 days and nights, and the rated 132 people.

The power unit of Silverfish uses an s5w2 type pressurized water reactor manufactured by Beiyang Heavy Industries Electrical Branch. The main engine is a gear reduction steam turbine manufactured by Southern General Electric, with a power of 16,400 axle horsepower.

The main weapons are 6 533mm water pressure red-head torpedo tubes, with 48 missiles. 16 "Jiulang" ballistic missile launchers are divided into two rows of vertical arrangements, with 8 in each row. The Julang 1 intercontinental ballistic missile is used, with a range of 3,200 kilometers. However, due to the poor progress of the Julang 1 ballistic missile research and development, the Silverfish strategic nuclear submarine was not equipped with ballistic missiles for most of the time it was in service. This has become one of the highest military secrets of the Strategic Command of the Chinese Empire, and even concealed the Imperial General Staff for seven years. It has successfully deceived the German Union's intelligence organization, making it believe it and fear the strategic nuclear submarines of the Chinese Empire for many years.

In order to blockade the German League and NATO, the Chinese Empire not only prepared that the powerful naval force was actually a maritime blockade, but the island chain blockade strategy was once again put on the agenda. Since this trick was very effective for the United States back then, it was also used by the Chinese Empire to deal with the German League.

The Chinese Empire joined forces with the member states of the Warsaw Pact to expand military bases on a large scale in the UK, Iceland, Alaska, Turkey, Kuwait, Armenia, Cyprus, Gibraltar and other places, surrounded Europe from all directions, and began to deploy nuclear weapons, allowing the Chinese Empire's Northwest Wind series of nuclear missiles to directly attack European countries, and its military intentions against the German League and NATO are very obvious.

With such a big military preparation, it is impossible for the German Union and the NATO group to settle down.
