Chapter 644: Collision of Steel (Part 2)

The reason why Armenia dares to attack Germany directly is that this Armenia has absolute relationship as the most important ally of the Chinese Empire in the Middle East.

The Armenian Army was armed to the teeth by the Chinese Empire. The large number of equipment currently in service in the Chinese Empire can find a shadow in the Armenian Army. This makes the Armenian Army a fully mechanized army, with extremely strong combat power. It is not accidental to claim to be the second army in the world, but according to the military strength standards of the Chinese Empire, the Armenian Army is the second country in the world to fully mechanize the army after the Chinese Empire.

If we only talk about mechanized forces, the German army only achieved mechanization of one quarter of the main force, about 500,000 people. There were many mechanized forces among the main force of the US military, accounting for about one-third of the total force. However, with the participation of the Chinese Empire in the war, the Chinese Navy blocked all routes in the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans, and terminated the provision of oil to the Allies.

As a result, the oil supply on the European battlefield began to shrink. Although the German army tried hard to restore Romanian oil production, it only returned to two-thirds of the level before the bombing, which was not enough to support the fuel consumption of the US-German Allied forces, and even the industrial oil in Germany could not meet it.

Oil has become a factor that seriously restricted the fight between the U.S. and Germany, forcing Germany to bear the oil consumption of the alliance countries alone. Fortunately, Germany built a large-scale coal-chemical oil industry. Under the severe situation, Hitler promoted coal-chemical oil engineering and nuclear weapons engineering to Germany's top priority. This greatly increased Germany's coal-chemical oil production, with an annual output reaching 12 million tons.

However, this is the premise that Germany ignores the cost of coal-chemical oil, and under the policy of the military, the cost of coal-chemical oil is ignored. The cost of refining a barrel of coal-chemical oil is almost several times that of crude oil mining. The long-term large-scale use of coal-chemical oil will cause Germany to fall into economic difficulties until it is finally dragged down.

Therefore, Hitler was very clear about Germany's current situation. It was no worse than the United States. After Hitler declared war on China, he realized that the Chinese Empire would freeze oil exports to Germany and the entire allies. He knew more that going to war with the Chinese Empire would be a protracted war of attrition, so oil became the key factor for the German army to block the attack of the Chinese Empire and lasted until Germany developed nuclear weapons.

Hitler also knew very well that under the actual control of the Armenian ranks, the Soviet Union's Transcaucasus oil zone was currently under the actual control of the Armenian ranks. Armenia, as a die-hard ally of the Chinese Empire, would never give the Transcaucasus oil to Germany. The Transcaucasus is rich in oil resources. Once the German army occupied it, it would fundamentally solve the problem of Germany's oil shortage. There would be no need to refine coal-based oil.

So, the military meeting held immediately after Hitler declared war on China, gathered more than 200,000 elite German troops to advance to the Don River Basin controlled by the Armenian Army before the second Battle of Stalingrad was clear.

When Hitler wanted to seize the Transcaucasus oil zone, the Armenian government naturally would not sit idly by, so the Armenian army took the initiative to attack the German army in the Don River Basin became one of its inevitable choices.

The third key factor for the Armenian army to take the initiative was the result of the Chinese Empire's political and military pressure on Turkey. As early as when the Armenian army invaded the Soviet Union's Caucasus oil zone, Turkey, as a member of the allies, faced strong political and military pressure from the Chinese Empire, and the Turkish government was forced to give up attacking the Soviet Union. Withdrew the Turkish army in the Black Sea back to its homeland to avoid head-on friction with the Armenian army. Because firing on the Armenian army was declaring war on the Chinese Empire, the Turkish government was very clear about this.

When the Chinese Empire officially declared war on the allies, the Turkish government weighed the pros and cons and believed that it was not suitable to attack the Soviet Union again. Offending the Chinese Empire would bring a catastrophe to Turkey. After all, the Chinese Empire had strong military capabilities in the military base in Cyprus and could cause a devastating blow to Turkey in a short period of time. Therefore, the Turkish government announced its withdrawal from the allies on the day the Chinese Empire declared war on the allies, but did not dare to offend the allies, so it declared neutrality.

When the Armenian army attacks the German army, the flanks will be threatened by the Turkish army. Therefore, the Chinese Empire was eager to let the Armenian Military Region fight the German army, so it had to put pressure on the Turkish government again, forcing the Turkish government to give up neutrality and must choose to stand on the side.

The Turkish government was originally very conflicted, but soon after the Chinese Empire dispatched more than 10,000 bombers to razed Washington, the Turkish government immediately announced its joining the United Nations and declared war on its allies, completely standing in the United Nations camp led by the Chinese Empire.

However, the Turkish government claimed that it had no money and equipment to fight against the allies and refused to send troops. So the Chinese Empire provided Turkey with 50 million dragon coins free of charge to improve the lives of the Turkish people and provided an interest-free loan of 1 billion dragon coins, allowing the Turkish army to purchase military equipment and combat preparations from the Chinese Empire.

In this way, the Turkish government, which had received the money, had to set an example, announcing that 220,000 Turkish troops in the Balkans entered a state of war, and launched an attack on the opposite Bulgaria and Romania. The Greek guerrillas also obtained military assistance from the Chinese Empire from the Cyprus base and actively cooperated with the Turkish army's attack.

At the same time, more than 300,000 Turkish troops stationed on the Armenian border evacuated. In this way, the Armenian army had no worries and felt at ease to dispatch its main force to attack the German troops in the Don River District.

On May 15, 1943, Armenia dispatched all air forces to launch large-scale surprise attacks on cities actually controlled by German troops such as Mostov, Lugansk, and Donesk in the Don River Basin.

It was a Sunday morning, when the pointer of the bell tower in the center of Mostov pointed to 8:45, the clouds over the Don Delta had just disappeared. In the Mostov Air Force Base, as usual, a large number of German officers were routinely worshiping Hitler's portraits, and many air defense post duty rooms were handing over shifts.

Suddenly, a roar in the air suddenly erupted, and thousands of Armenian fighter planes attacked like lightning, catching the German Air Force off guard. A large number of German aircraft were destroyed on the ground before they even took off.

On this day, the Armenian Air Force almost came out in full swing, and even the trainer planes were put into battle, launching full-scale attacks on the alliance countries at three air bases and 25 field airports in the Don River Basin.

The battle lasted from morning to around six o'clock in the evening. The Armenian Air Force carried out four waves of raids on the German, Italian, Romanian and other Allied forces.

After taking off from the air bases of Jiumuri, Vanazor and other air force bases, the Armenian Air Force maintained a formation of four aircraft and sailed to the westward direction of the Black Sea. Armenian Air Force pilots cleverly used the thick clouds over the Black Sea to avoid the Alliance's air defense posts on the ground to investigate, and avoided the search of the German Air Force reconnaissance aircraft.

Subsequently, the plane flew over the sea at an altitude less than 10 meters away from the sea. After entering the land, it rose to 20 meters. They did not fly directly to the target they wanted to attack, but flew to the north of the Don River Delta and suddenly turned south. From the Bulgarian Army's air defense zone, the attack height was only 100-150 meters. During the attack, the Armenian Army pilots followed the latest air strike tactics learned from the Chinese Empire's air training base. The principle of "first hit the runway, then hit the plane" prevented the German aircraft from taking off, and could only stare at the ground.

The first wave attacked the Germans occupied two former Soviet air bases, which were the main air force of the Allies in the Don River Basin, and were listed as key targets by the Armenian Air Force. The second wave mainly attacked the Italian bomber field airport in Zaporoze and eight airports of more than a dozen mixed aircraft of the Balkan Allied forces such as Romania and Bulgaria. The third wave attacked the German air base in Krivorog. Finally, after completing the attack on two air bases and 25 field airports in the Don River Delta. From an hour after 5 pm, the former Soviet Black Sea Fleet Base controlled by the Romanian Navy on the Simferopol Peninsula surrounded by the Black Sea was also attacked by the Armenian Air Force, causing serious damage, and two Armenian naval destroyers were sunk.

In this way, within 60 hours after the war started, the Armenian Air Force destroyed 1,451 aircraft from the Allied countries, of which the German army lost 1,036 aircraft and Italy lost 161. The Allied combat aircraft in the Don Delta lost more than 95%, the entire Allied Don Air Wing was paralyzed, while the Armenian Air Force only lost 126 aircraft.

In order to carry out this air strike, the Armenian Army conducted a long reconnaissance and preparation. He basically found out the situation of the Allied Teams, especially the situation of the air force, such as the location of the air base, the runway conditions, air defense artillery facilities, etc. Even the German officials were well aware of the rules of activities.

Of course, most of the intelligence obtained by the Armenian army was provided to them by the Imperial Intelligence Agency. Its accuracy is almost 90%, highlighting the outstanding achievements made by the Imperial Central Intelligence Agency in Europe for nearly half a century.

After the Armenian Air Force successfully raided the Alliance, it obtained air supremacy over the Don Delta in a short time, so the Armenian Army quickly launched a blitzkrieg against the Alliance with its powerful mechanized forces.

On May 15, half an hour after the Armenian Air Force launched an air strike, five divisions of its ground forces were led by tank armored vehicles, and launched a large-scale attack on the opposite alliance from Taganrog, Shammert and Kamensk.

The German army had five infantry divisions and two armored divisions in the Don River Delta, with a total of about 120,000 people, respectively, guarding each of the strategic points.

Because the German army had a deep understanding of the Armenian Army based on previous experience in the Transcaucasus War, they adjusted their tactics and deployed a large number of troops in the Don Delta area. The troops east of the Don River were empty because they were afraid that Armenia would suddenly turn against each other and launch a blitzkrieg against the German army.

After repeated attacks, the Armenian army occupied the Taganrog area and entered an area of more than 70 square kilometers west of the Don River and east of Lugansk. Then, the Armenian army divided into three groups and attacked the Don River Delta area. The local Soviet guerrillas actively cooperated and informed the Allied** deployment, which greatly reduced the military misjudgment of the Armenian army commander.
