Chapter 583 Germany blitzes the Soviet Union

On July 23, the 3rd Armored Division of the US captured Alberton and captured the entire Canadian government. The next day, Canadian President Baker surrendered to the United States and Canada merged into the U.S. territory. However, the remaining Canadian troops led by Edward were broken into pieces and entered the deserted and cold areas, continuing guerrilla warfare, and attacking the U.S. troops everywhere.

Edward's troops also received military assistance and economic support from the Chinese Empire. They continued to send arms and supplies from Alaska to the heart of Canada and provided them to Edward's guerrillas.

Politically, the Chinese Empire refused to recognize Canada's merger into the United States territory and convened a meeting of the League of Nations to discuss the proposal to restore Canada's **. Soon, the United States voluntarily withdrew from the League of Nations, so the League of Nations had no right to point fingers at the United States.

But what Roosevelt never expected was that when the United States withdrew from the League of Nations, it just gave the Chinese Empire an excuse to jointly interfere in the American War.

After the US military occupied Canada, it deployed 200,000 troops in the Columbia area to guard northward on the Chinese Emperor** in Alaska, while guarding against the harassment of Edward guerrillas from the Yukon region.

After the US military stabilized Canada, it began to focus on dealing with Mexico on the southern front. With the current strength of the US military's air force and army, it was fully capable of repelling the attack of the Mexican army. However, when Roosevelt held a military meeting, the strategy given by the think tank was to temporarily maintain a stalemate with the Mexican army.

Roosevelt's think tank has been studying the political landscape of America. Mexico has always been the number one strong enemy of the United States because Mexico blocked the US military's route to Central and South America. At the same time, when formulating a strategy to move south, the United States had to consider the attitude of the Chinese Empire on the West Coast of the Pacific.

After years of research, Roosevelt's think tank believes that the basic national policy of the Chinese Empire was to maintain the world hegemony status without being shaken. On this basis, the Chinese Empire focused on economic development, sought a balance of military power in the surrounding areas, and aimed at exporting arms to make money.

This was recognized by the Roosevelt administration. Because the Chinese Empire did have such policies in World War I and World War II, this is an open secret.

However, the think tank believes that once the Chinese Empire realizes that a country threatens its world hegemony, it will attack it without hesitation. This is why the Chinese Empire suddenly started war against the United States without any reason decades ago.

Roosevelt knew this very well, but he could not avoid it. Because the United States and the Chinese Empire are neighbors, no matter how the United States rises, it will threaten the Chinese Empire's absolute hegemony in the region.

Roosevelt's think tank finally came up with an idea. Since the United States must rise and the Chinese Empire will definitely make every effort to stop it, then the United States must be fully prepared before it rises. Roosevelt was already doing this. He and the Nazi Party have already built the US Army and Air Force very strongly, enough to compete with the Chinese Empire. However, if we want to truly stop the Chinese Empire from interfering in the rise of the United States, we must restore the strength of the US Navy. On this point, Roosevelt has never found a reasonable way.

The think tank quickly gave a strategy, which was to use the opportunity of the Fourth American-Mexico War to expand the U.S. Navy. But the premise was that the Mexican army could not be defeated immediately, otherwise it would be very likely that the Chinese Empire would participate in the war halfway, which had already been learned during the Third American-Mexico War.

Subsequently, Roosevelt sent a special envoy to visit the Chinese Empire, pointing out that the US government was unwilling to go to war with Mexico. He hoped that the Chinese Empire would come forward. A single US military team did not conduct a counterattack, but was giving face to the Chinese Empire.

The Chinese Empire was very satisfied with the attitude of the United States. Although it was not clear about the Americans’ real intention, the facts were already very clear, and the US military was indeed tolerant.

But for the Chinese Empire, maintaining a stalemate war situation between the United States and Mexico is beneficial to the Chinese Empire, because in this way, the Chinese Empire can continue to sell Mexican arms and various materials and make a fortune in war.

Therefore, the Chinese Empire expressed its understanding of the United States' difficulties and would urge Mexico to cease fire. In fact, the Chinese Empire had no intention of stopping the Mexican army and continued to support Mexico's war against the United States.

The US government had long expected that the Chinese Empire would not give up this good opportunity to make a fortune easily, so it took a plan and claimed that the Mexican Navy was too strong and that the US Maritime Self-Defense Force was no match for it. The Roosevelt administration ordered the expansion of the US Navy's strength and the construction of a large number of main ships to fight the harassment of the Mexican Navy.

At the beginning, the Chinese Empire opposed the expansion of the US naval force, but soon the Mexican naval fleet attacked the eastern coastal cities of the United States, causing a large number of innocent civilians to be killed and injured. The US government seized the opportunity and hyped the Chinese Empire and won the sympathy of the Chinese people. However, Mexico did not have such diplomatic tricks, which made them suddenly fall into a passive position.

Under pressure from domestic public opinion, the Chinese Empire had to publicly condemn the Mexican Navy's crime of massacre of innocent civilians, and therefore acquiesced to the fact that the United States expanded its navy. However, it required the expansion of the US Maritime Self-Defense Force and the construction of large capital ships to inform the Chinese Navy.

The Roosevelt administration immediately agreed to the Chinese Empire's request, but in fact, the US Maritime Self-Defense Force naturally would not tell the Chinese Empire the truth, cover up its true strength in various ways, and secretly develop the US naval power.

First, the US Navy resumed the construction of Montana-class battleships. The displacement of the five Montana-class battleships reached 80,000 tons, but only 60,000 tons were announced to the public, and the main gun caliber was 19 inches (the 20-inch main gun could not be developed in a short period of time), and 18 inches was announced to the public. The speed reached 30 knots, it was claimed to be only 28 knots, and the armor protection was as high as 460 mm (after the Sino-US Atlantic Navy, the US military commander had a memory), and it was announced to the public. In addition, the US Maritime Self-Defense Force almost used all the technology they could obtain on Montana-class battleships, with the purpose of no longer only dealing with the Mexican-class battleships of the Mexican-class battleships of the Mexican-class battleships, but aiming at the Ming-class battleships of the Imperial Navy and the Ultimate Battleships of the Imperial Navy.

Secondly, the US Navy built a Kitty Hawk-class aircraft carrier. It adopts a conventional power system, designed displacement of 45,000 tons and a speed of 30 knots. It can carry TBFC Avenger carrier-based fighter jets, SBD5 Dreadnought carrier-based attack aircraft, A26 Invader carrier-based bombers, and A20 Catastrophe medium-sized bombers, etc., with 90 aircraft carriers, which are medium-sized aircraft carriers.

As for the appearance design of the Kitty Hawk-class aircraft carrier, it is still a rectangular layout of all-purpose flight deck, and the aircraft carrier-based aircraft cannot take off and land at the same time. This has become the biggest weakness of the US Maritime Self-Defense Force aviation.

The Kitty Hawk-class aircraft carrier is planned to build six ships, with a construction cycle of less than 12 months. The Americans completely develop the navy in the war industry model.

"Is the aircraft carrier battle group really useless?"

The American think tank believes that the Chinese Empire's development of aircraft carriers is definitely not rich and nowhere to be huā. The Chinese Empire's political deception methods have always been unfathomable, and almost all countries in the world have suffered losses. Therefore, the Roosevelt's think tank believes that the Chinese Empire's development of aircraft carrier battle groups is absolutely purposeful. No matter what the purpose is, the US Navy should develop in the footsteps of the Chinese Empire's Navy.

Although Roosevelt was not clear about why the Chinese Empire retained so many aircraft carrier battle groups. As Lin Jianzhang said at the press conference, the Chinese Empire's aircraft carrier battle groups were only used to deter second- and third-rate countries. Roosevelt was increasingly distrustful of this because first-rate countries dared not challenge the Chinese Empire, let alone second- and third-rate countries. A country that can be settled by just a few super battleships does not need so many aircraft carrier battle groups at all.

Therefore, Roosevelt believed the inference of his think tank. It was absolutely purposeful to believe that the Chinese Empire retained a powerful aircraft carrier battle group. Perhaps, the Chinese Empire had been misleading other countries politically.

Roosevelt firmly believed that the Chinese Empire had tricks on the aircraft carrier issue, so he approved the US Maritime Self-Defense Force to develop aircraft carrier combat groups.

In order to build battleship battle groups and aircraft carrier battle groups, the US Navy has successively started construction of more than 40 escort heavy cruisers and light cruisers. These battleships are built in the war industry model at an extremely fast speed. The fastest light cruiser was completed in less than six months, and the heavy cruiser did not exceed ten months, highlighting the rapid recovery of US industrial capabilities and also showing the superiority of the US economy under Roosevelt's national Nazist model.

In addition, the US Maritime Self-Defense Force is extremely enthusiastic about the development of submarines and is almost as enthusiastic as Hitler.

With the opportunity of the Chinese Empire's resignation, the US Navy built more than 200 German UA766 submarines in one breath within nine months. The submarine's displacement was about 1,200 tons and its underwater speed reached 17 knots. It was an advanced submarine of the German submarine force after actual combat inspection. It also copied the Tang-class submarines of the Chinese Empire, and the number of copying was as high as 200. It was not until the US submarine force encountered the powerful anti-submarine forces of the Chinese Empire that it terminated the behavior of the Tang-class submarine and instead developed other models of submarines.

Of course, when the US Navy vigorously developed its navy, it once caused strong dissatisfaction from the Chinese Empire, but Roosevelt survived it, which was all due to Nazi Germany, an American ally across the Atlantic.

On July 22, 1941, on June 28, 41st year of Guanghua, early in the morning, Hitler tore up the Soviet-German non-aggression treaty, and dispatched 210 divisions, 6,700 tanks, 7,200 combat aircraft, 57,000 cannons and 390 various warships. The three armies and navy and air forces jointly operated, and the army divided into three groups to raid the Soviet Union with blitzkrieg combat operations. World War II further expanded and the Soviet-German War broke out.

It was precisely because Germany suddenly blitzed the Soviet Union that the Chinese Empire was shocked and focused all its energy on the Soviet-German battlefield, which relaxed its attention to the United States and gave Roosevelt time to vigorously develop the US Navy.

Hitler's Barbarossa plan was to concentrate a large number of troops, carry out rapid and far-reaching assaults from several directions through "blitzkrieg", occupying the Soviet capital Moscow, the second and third largest cities of the Soviet Union, Leningrad and Kiev, etc., and destroying the main force of the Soviet Red Army in the western part of the Soviet Union. Later, he drove straight into the hinterland of the Soviet Union, advancing to the front lines of Arkhangelsk, Volga, and Astrakhan, and using the air force to destroy the Ural industrial zone, thereby defeating the Soviet Union.

Half a year after the Barbarossa plan was introduced, the Soviet Union was still unaware of it. On May 1, 1941, a military parade was held in Moscow Red Square to commemorate International Labor Day. Although British, French and Soviet spies reported to Stalin many times that Germany would attack the Soviet Union in the summer of 1941, Stalin believed that Germany was not able to invade the Soviet Union before the war between Britain, France and Germany was clear. He even suspected that this was fabricated by the Allied spies to pull the Soviet Union into the trap of fighting against Germany, because the allied camp was joined by the United States, which made the Allied power too weak, and it was very possible to win over the Soviet Union to start a war against Germany.

Of course, when the Germans formulated the Barbarossa plan, the Soviet Union was also formulating a "big thunderstorm plan" to attack Germany. The plan was issued earlier than the Barbarossa plan. It was only because the Soviet Union's war preparations had not met the requirement of attacking Germany and defeating Germany at one time, so it was delayed.

Whether it was Germany or the Soviet Union, they obviously had their own ulterior motives and bad intentions. The intention to annex the other party was known to everyone, but the difference was that who would take action first.

It was precisely because Stalin was determined to annex Germany that he lost his calm judgment and did not find that the Germans were also preparing for the conspiracy to attack the Soviet Union. At the same time, in order to attack Germany, Stalin concentrated his huge army and military equipment on the Soviet-German border, obviously in order to give Germany a fatal blow, but Stalin was not lucky and asked the Germans to take action first. As a result, a large number of troops and equipment on the border were killed by the German army at the first time and suffered heavy losses.

Of course, Stalin also wanted to attack Germany early because he discovered that Mexico had declared war on the United States, which showed that the Chinese Empire's attitude was tilting towards the Allies. Stalin knew very well which side the Soviet Union should stand, and it must be in a consistent direction with the Chinese Empire, otherwise it would be devastating blows from the Chinese Empire.

Based on this idea, Stalin attached more importance to his plan of thunderstorm. However, at this critical moment, a change occurred within the Soviet leadership, and a group of people who opposed Stalin's autocracy stood up again.

Stalin regarded his rights more important than anything else, and he would never tolerate someone within the Soviet Union opposing him, even if he scolded him, he would not do anything.

Therefore, in order to consolidate his power, Stalin suspended the plan for a thunderstorm and instead began a second major purge within the Soviet Union, completely eliminating any forces against him.

During the Second Purge, Stalin's Red Guard arrested more than 30,000 people, of which more than 200 Soviet military and political officials were all secretly executed on various charges. A considerable number of them were senior military officers involved in the plan for the thunderstorm. Their deaths led to a spread of dissatisfaction in the Soviet army.

According to the report of the okw Intelligence Agency, Hitler believed that the Soviet Union was in civil strife and that the Soviet Union's thunderstorm plan leaked news due to the turmoil of the army. Hitler was shocked and decided to launch the Barbarossa plan in advance.!~!
