Chapter 399

"Hurry up, hurry up, the new classmates are coming today!" Barbara pulled his good friend, Suzy Quill of Ravenclaw, and ran into the auditorium quickly. It has been newly arranged, and the long tables of the four colleges are filled with flowers, golden plates and goblets. These cups and plates are now empty, but at the beginning of the banquet they will be filled with food and drinks.

There are countless lit candles floating above the hall, brightly illuminating the lights here. The flags of the four colleges are hung on the walls on both sides. The champion academy of last semester was Slytherin, so the edge of the green-bottomed snake-patterned flag of Slytherin was decorated with golden flower crowns.

Senior students sit near the gate and empty the table on the other end near the rostrum. There will be a seat for new students, which also means that each college will welcome new family members. On the rostrum, the principal, professor, teacher and teacher sit respectively, looking at the students with a smile. In front of them there is a high-legged platform with a greasy and ragged spire hat on it. This is the famous branch hat, the treasure left by Gryffindor, one of the founders of Hogwarts. This is a wise hat that can judge a person's character and potential and then assign it to one of the four colleges.

The four academies are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.

New students have to take a boat to come from the lake outside Hogwarts Castle, climb up the steps, enter the hall, wear a branch hat, enter a certain college, receive a warm welcome, and then eat. This was the case every year. However, this year is a bit different. There are two more tables on both sides of the rostrum, and cram students who pass the exam sit here. They will also attend the branch ceremony, but they are exempt from the process of taking a boat.

"Barbara, what are you doing when you run to the front? Here you will be next to the new students, and it will be messy at that time." Susie ran all the way out, her fair face climbing into the blushing color, and she looked very playful and cute. She pulled Barbara down and reached out to help her friend tidy up the rolled collar. "Why are you still not paying attention to your image? Do you remember what happened in your branch?"

"Remember, remember, I beat the syrup over and turned your hair into sugar cubes." Barbara said with a smile: "Hehe, I'm not here to see the new student, but to the cram school. Have you seen that Eastern Hole, right next to the big guy Ador?"

"Who doesn't know that it's Mike Long's roar. He passed all the exams in less than four months. He is the first eighth grade in history." Susie stroked her chest and let her breath smoothly. "He looks so weird as the rumors!"

"You should exercise well. Just run a little and get so breathing like this. What if you really encounter danger?" Barbara looked at her good friend and felt that Mike's words were not wrong at all. Most wizards had poor physical fitness. After the experience of being in danger and being released from the Forbidden Forest, she began to consciously strengthen her running exercise. In addition to the better "cardiopulmonary function", she found that her magic power had also increased. This unexpected joy made her begin to pay attention to every word he said, and even found a book to record Zhao Mai's words and deeds in the Forbidden Forest. Of course, she promised to keep it confidential, so there was no name on the book, just a simple "he".

"We haven't won the branch championship for eight consecutive years, and we have been Slytherin for the past four years. Don't you find it boring?" Barbara exhaled gently into Suzy's ear: "As long as Mike joins in, our college will definitely win!"

"Ah? Is he that great?" Suzy gently pushed Barbara's face away a little so that she could turn her head and speak to her: "He is very good at taking the exam, but it doesn't mean he can get more points for the academy. Is he a good Quidditch player?"

"No, although Quidditch is handsome, that's not his style." Barbara found that she couldn't share the story that happened in the Forbidden Forest with others, or she had violated her oath. So she could only shake her head and say hard: "Ah! I can't say it, but in short, he's very awesome!"

Susie looked at Barbara suspiciously, then Zhao Mai, and reached out to touch Barbara's forehead. "Don't you have a fever?"

"Of course, I'm very awake." Barbara grabbed Suzy and shook her back and forth, saying, "You have to believe me. If you want to win the branch championship, the only possible way is to let Mike come to our college to our college!"

"Okay, I believe you. An eighth-grade student will never be bad." Susie said hurriedly, reaching out to hold the glasses that were about to fall. "Just study hard, is the branch championship that important?"

"Of course, if I didn't win a branch championship in Hogwarts once in seven years, I would be sad. Suzy, you won't make me sad, right?" Barbara said with confidence. "So let's pray together and let the branch hats get Mike to Ravenclaw."

While they were praying, Zhao Mai was unaware of it. He sat next to the nervous and excited Ado, closing his eyes until the freshmen in the first grade lined up to enter the hall. After the principal Dippet gave a brief speech, Professor Dumbledore wore a division hat for each student, and then the wrinkled hat would call out the name of the college and allocate the freshmen.

The colleges are not evenly distributed, but each college has an upper limit of carrying capacity. Hogwarts' dormitories and classrooms can arrange up to 1,000 students, but the current teachers and teaching resources can only maintain a maximum number of 400 students. This is why cram students cannot stay all of them. Some need to continue learning until next year, with the next student joining the first grade.

Of course, some cram students will join the first grade this year. They joked themselves that they are all "the last lucky ones". Immediately after the eleven or twelve-year-olds, these people also began the branch ceremony.

Some of them are already seventeen or eighteen years old, and older ones are still in their early twenties. They are tall and big, and they seem out of place among a group of children, which leads to some laughter. Zhao Mai looked around, poked Adu with his elbow, and then began to applaud rhythmically. Soon, all the cram students joined in, like the applause of drums overwhelmed the laughter. All the cram students are a whole. No matter which college they are assigned to, they share their time of study together and will always be given the title of "creator".

The tallest of all was Ador. Professor Dumbledore stood on tiptoe and threw the branch hat on his head. The hat hesitated for a while and suddenly shouted: "Ado! Uh, I mean Hufflepuff!"

"Ador." Amid the applause, Ador made it to the Hufflepuff table. Hufflepuff is unknown among the four academies and looks the most ordinary, but in fact it provides the most pillars and masonry for the wizarding world.
