Chapter 615 The Legend Continues

The bright sunlight gently splashed on the New York block, and the asphalt pavement was coated with a layer of light gold, filling the entire corner of the cafe with a warm atmosphere. New scaffoldings have been set up between the collapsed ruins across the street, and a wall with the words "under construction" was pulled up. Workers wearing safety helmets are busy, and the noisy chainsaw sounds and conversations form a symphony that resounds throughout the block.

This was once Eric's favorite cafe. He spent countless afternoons in the corner by the window seat, but since life became complicated, he rarely visited him again.

And now, he finally stopped busy and regained his long-lost leisure. He lazily lay on the soft sofa in the cafe, enjoying the generous and warm sunshine outside the window, watching the white smoke rise from the cup of hot caramel latte on the table in front of him.

It's really a pleasant life.

Two months ago, the earth ushered in the largest and most violent alien invasion in history. In that darkest period, almost everyone gave up hope. Fortunately, hope did not give up on them. The apocalypse army came over the sky with rolling black clouds, and finally retreated with the overwhelming haze, like a storm of thunder and rain. When the haze was dispersed and the sun shone again on the earth, people were unprecedentedly grateful for the generous gifts of the sun.

All the heroes who persisted until the end of this battle and did not give up hope were praised by the highest glory. For a time, the statues of superheroes sprung out around the world like mushrooms after a rain, and a craze swept the world. The heroes who participated in the battle also agreed that most of their merits were attributed to Eric and Brad who faced Darkside directly. So the legend of Amozor and the White Flash spread all over the world in a moment with fiber optic and electromagnetic waves.

However, since the final battle of the doomsday, no one has seen the traces of these two people again.

A few days after the war, Eric informed the members of the Justice League of China about his decision to withdraw.

"Exit?" Green Lantern was first surprised when he announced the decision calmly in the Hall of Justice, "You have just saved the world, man, you are probably the hottest superhero on the planet now. Hell, if you were willing to show up, I'm very sure that the President will definitely award you a dozen medals of honor."

Superman also advised: "You don't need to leave. We all know what you have lost in the long battle, but as long as you want, the alliance can always be your home, and we are all your family."

"Thank you, I know." Eric smiled faintly, "but I just think I may have completed the task at this stage, maybe I should continue to move forward. There are more arrangements for me in the future, and more things are waiting for me to do."

"Okay." Superman nodded, "If you already have your own plans, then that's it. But remember, we will always be your friends, when you have any need...you know where we are."

"Uh, since we all mentioned it..." The Flash raised his hand and said, "...you haven't forgotten that the watchtower fell, right? So we'll... in the future..."

Superman glanced at Batman intentionally or unintentionally and said, "This... don't worry, we will solve it, and it will soon be exactly the same as before."

Batman's white eyepiece moved and said, "I guess you have never seen the monthly regular maintenance fee bill for the watchtower, let alone the construction cost."

"Okay..., maybe there is no need to be exactly the same." Superman said, "Well, some extra empty rooms may not be so necessary, and some facilities that are rarely used can be deleted..."

"No." Batman said lightly, "This time, we'll build a better one."

Superman was stunned for a moment, his super brain seemed to be unable to keep up for a while.

"We need more rooms, bigger halls," Batman said, "and need more chairs to be able to put down."

Superman was stunned for a moment, then smiled heartily and said, "Ah, yes, more chairs."

Leaving the Hall of Justice, Eric immediately went to Stark Building to meet Tony.

When the entire city was swept away by aliens, Tony certainly could not have hoped that his building would be spared, after all, it was so conspicuous. Eric instantly moved to his top floor living room, and when he landed on the ground, he stepped on the mess of gravel tiles, and there seemed to be a valuable painting buried among the piles of gravel in the corner.

"I have to admit it," Tony was stunned after having another thorough physical examination for Eric, "this is simply a miracle."

"Is my situation? How about it?" Eric asked while putting on his coat.

"Excellent, so good that I can't even be sure if it's good." Tony said, "Man, the energy in your body is a hundred times more abundant than the strongest person I've ever seen. It's no exaggeration to say that you are simply comparable to a walking nuclear reactor!"

"Uh, correct it," Eric said, "the out-of-control nuclear reactor cannot blow up an entire planet."

Tony was stunned, stared at his eyes for a while, and asked, "Tell me you're kidding."

Eric shrugged: "If you are worried about my potential threat, you'd better avoid it. And I don't plan to stay here for long."

"You mean, you're leaving the earth?" Tony asked, "so do you have plans next? Go around the universe?"

"Maybe, who knows."

After pausing for a long time, Eric looked at him seriously and said, "Thank you all the time, Tony."

At this moment, the cafe on the corner of the street.

The caramel latte on the table was completely cold. Eric stretched out his body and lay lazily on the sofa. The sunlight reflected from the glass of the building across the street made him squint his eyes reflexively.

"So, you still lie."

Eric withdrew his gaze, and the girl's translucent figure appeared on the sofa opposite him. Reven held her delicate chin with her hands intertwined. Her frozen face was expressionless, but she looked particularly harmonious and cute under the soft golden warm sun, just like returning to the moment when they had just met.

Of course, there is no entity in her current state of existence, and no one can see it except Eric.

"Why are you lying again?" Eric picked up the already cold caramel latte. The liquid in the cup returned to its heat the moment it touched his lips - it was not difficult for him to touch the elements.

"You made everyone believe that you have left the earth." Ruiwen said, and began to play with the curtains that she could not touch.

Eric smiled indifferently: "It's not a lie. I really plan to leave, but just take a break. You know, I have not had such an opportunity for a long time - no crazy Amozhuo robot, no alien invasion of the end of the world, and no crazy scientists to destroy the world. I feel like I've fought for so long for a lifetime - no, it should be two lifetimes, including the cycle of life and death."

Speaking of this, he sighed softly and said, "I'm sorry, Raven."

"Hmm?" The girl tilted her head in confusion.

"Take me back for you." He stared at his cup in mid-air and said in a low voice, "You have always trusted and supported me, and paid so much for me, I...I don't know how I can pay off what I owe you..."

Seeing him seriously, Raven couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"Hmm? Is it funny?"

Riven smiled and shook his head, saying, "You are true, and I still don't understand. For me, as long as I can be with you forever, I will have nothing to ask for. So don't have any burden, Eric, this is my own choice, and I'm very satisfied."

"Raven..." He closed his eyes gently, as if he could feel her presence from the bottom of his heart, "...thank you."

He finally drank the cup of latte and seemed to be relaxed when he stood up. He quickly pushed the door and walked out of the cafe. The golden sunlight cast his shadow long on the sidewalk, and the girl was looming like a shadow.

"Let's go together," Eric said with a smile, "go to a world where no one has been, a corner where no one has been to, until the end of the world."
