Chapter 54 Baine
Gotham, Hudson Island, deep in the depths.
This is a densely forested island that has been barely developed. From the map it is located outside Gotham, but in fact it is still assigned to the Gotham City Government for management.
The senior management of Gotham City has not intended to develop the island in depth for so many years, but allows a large number of plants to occupy the land and expand their territory. The trees are getting taller every day, and almost one person is taller in the bushes. The strange screams from some kind of insects in the dark night are coming from the depths of the dense forest, which is creepy. The lighthouse in the center of the island shoots a searchlight beam around, and the rotating lights seem to be warning passers-by not to land on this land.
For the Poison Ivy Girl, this place is an excellent stronghold. She is classified as a super criminal, but in fact she is just an overly aggressive environmentalist with superpowers to control plants. Her fanatical love for plants makes her love for Gotham from the bottom of her heart.
It was like a black brain gliding past, and the black shadow fell straight from the high air like an arrow. Dick, wearing a bat suit, fell all the way to the height of the lighthouse before spreading his cloak, gliding like a bat spreading his wings into the dense forest.
After taking Eric back to the bat cave and basically confirming that his condition was stable, Dick followed the unique spores secreted by the poison ivy girl and came here.
The scanning system in the mask quickly conducted heat source analysis, and the bat fighter hovering in the air also sent down-looking photos of the island to the cloak's database. Soon, Dick discovered the only artificial facility in the center of the island.
A research station about two stories high, the building looks like a square box. It is actually not difficult to find here, because just above its head is the only lighthouse on the island, and the searchlight is like a sword drawn out of its sheath, flashing golden light into the black clouds.
Dick followed the stairs to the automatic door. The door lock was an electronic dial - it was nothing difficult. He could crack such things when he was thirteen. He used a few seconds to blackout the lock and entered the institute in the dim orange light.
A transparent cultivation jar stood in the innermost position of the room. A charming green-skinned woman sat behind the glass without any strands of her knees. The golden liquid filled the entire glass jar, and groups of leaves flew around the woman along the whirlpool, like an elves dancing.
"Poison Ivy Girl?" Dick frowned, which was not much the same as he expected.
The Poison Ivy raised his head weakly and saw him.
"Batman..." she said sickly, "I swear, when you open this lock, that stupid Crumanu Bain will regret his birth."
"Bain? Did Bain do it?"
"He snatched my most precious plant and extracted her juice to improve his stupid venom recipe." The poison ivy girl gritted her teeth, "Wait until I get out here..."
"Not today, poison ivy."
Dick took out the glass knife and cut a circle on the glass with the harsh and crisp sound of "splashing", and golden liquid poured out like a spring water.
He took off his cloak, put it on the poison ivy woman, and said, "You are very weak now and you can't fight. Leave Bain to me, you can leave here as soon as possible."
The poison ivy girl half-kneeled on the floor and gasped for a moment.
"Okay. I owe you once, Batman."
After Poison Ivy left, Dick continued to grop inside. He found the computer that stored the main data, trying to find data about the detailed ingredients of the new toxin.
The black shadow quietly approached from behind him.
It was like a cannon popping out of the borehole, and the black and black thing rushed towards me with a howling gale. And Dick, who looked full of energy, looked short and drew away from the attack as if he had eyes behind him.
The computer screen was smashed to pieces, lines burst out, electric sparks flew everywhere, and fragments of the screen flew around.
"That's your all, Bain? It's a little disappointing!"
Dick turned around and swung his fist, and threw it hard on Bain's cheek behind him. However, the powerful punch was useless on Bain's face. He didn't even move his neck, and the second punch came.
"boom!"
The outer wall of the laboratory was shattered, and the winged bat fell high. Dick was hit by this punch, and his internal organs seemed to have moved, and his body fell freely in the air, and he fell into a small ditch in a mess.
He regretted taking the cloak away to the Poison Ivy Girl. If it were there, at least it wouldn't be so embarrassed when landing.
Dick vomited blood, his bones sore that they were about to go on strike, but he knew it was not the time. The black shadow chased after him again, covering the sky, as if someone was throwing a hill towards him.
He jumped and Bain's huge body fell down like a huge rock hitting the water, splashing a wall high.
Dick turned around and threw three bat darts to try to slow him down, but Bain raised his arm and blocked them. The three darts pierced into his thick flesh and rubbed a little blood, but the beast seemed to have no feeling at all, and continued to wave its fists violently.
Dick rolled and punched, then jumped up, pressed the other person's strong arm with one hand and swept it into the air, and turned his body and swept his legs against Bain's chin.
He was as light as a water snake, sticking to Bain within three steps, wandering between the fist wind that makes people unable to open their eyes, and the rhythm is as fast as a bead to strike with his fists and feet. Bain is like a tiger trying to catch a mosquito, but it is always a slight difference.
"It looks like your medicine is making you stupider, Bain." Dick continued to look for a chance to keep moving, looking for opportunities, and said, "Sometimes I'm really a little worried. Maybe one day you'll be crazy."
"Hmph, no worries, Batman." Bain punched the water and smashed a rock. The violent splash seemed to explode a grenade. "I improved the purity of the new toxin, more like a derivative of volatile venom. If the dose is taken too much, it will theoretically cause the nervous system to stop working and turn a villain's brain into a paste. But it did not play the same role in me, and it made me smarter."
"Smarter, serious?" Dick levered over his shoulder, his body flowing like a swallow. "I only see a stupider head."
"No." Bain said in a deep voice, finally grabbing Dick's ankle in mid-air and pulling him down.
Bain grabbed his throat and pushed him into the water, saying quietly: "I'm smart enough to discover an obvious fact..."
