Chapter 53(1/2)

The strong wind blew over the vast land of the horse farm, ravaging the unclosed window outside the house, making a sound of knocking.

Mu Fulan was awakened from her sleep and her heart beat a little fast.

I have been here for several days. For the children, this is indeed a good place to play. Xier likes it very much.

In the darkness, she subconsciously touched her body. Her fingertips touched her small body.

Xier is sleeping peacefully on her own.

Mu Fulan exhaled and slowly relaxed.

She crawled down from the bed, touched the dark side and came to the outside room, stopped in front of the window, and looked outside.

The night was dark, lightning flashed across the sky, and thunder rolled to the top of the distant mountain. It was about to rain.

She closed the window and returned to the bed in the inner room.

She was afraid that the thunder would wake Xier up, so she carried him into her arms.

There was lightning and thunder outside the house, and the night wind and rain were cold. She hugged the villain in her arms tightly and closed her eyes under the warm quilt.

She woke up after sleeping. I don’t know how long it took. At what time, the night came, and a few slight knocks seemed to come from her ears again.

In the hazy state, at first she thought that the doors and windows were still not closed and were swept by the wind and rain.

But soon, I realized that I was wrong.

When she woke up, Xier was still sleeping quietly beside her, and outside, she didn't know when the wind had stopped and the rain stopped.

Listen carefully, the sound of knocking disappeared, and everything in my ears was silent, leaving only the eaves of the porch, and the crisp ticking sound of the water drops falling.

Or just hearing hallucinations in dreams.

Mu Fulan opened her eyes and looked out the window.

It was still dark outside, she guessed it was the fourth update.

When she closed her eyes again, the sound came again.

This time, I can hear it clearly.

Someone is knocking on the door.

Given the lessons of the previous fire, coupled with the abnormal climate this fall, and frequent lightning at night, the night patrol of the horse farm is becoming more and more strict than before. And after she arrived, the courtyard where she lived was closely guarded at night.

This hour point is just when everyone is dreaming. Who will come here to knock on the door?

Mu Fulan sat up slowly, put on her clothes and went down to the floor, lit the lamp, held the candlestick, walked to the outside room, and asked softly through the door, "Who?"

"It's me."

Outside the door, a low voice of a man who seemed to be mixed with a bit of fatigue came out.

Mu Fulan immediately identified who it was.

She immediately put on her clothes, pulled the door bolt, and opened the door.

A cold wind with moisture pounced in, causing the candlelight in her hand to sway.

In the shaking dim lights, she saw a straw raincoat standing outside the door.

The man bowed his head, walked through the door frame, and walked in.

The residual water slowly dripped along the edge of his body's straw hat and straw raincoat, as if he had arrived here after walking the night road.

Mu Fulan was surprised and a little puzzled. But when he saw that he didn't say a word, he came in and stopped by the door, and began to take off his rain hat and the straw raincoat on his body. He didn't ask where he came from or why he came in the rain all night, and just stood by and watched. Seeing that he took off his straw hat and straw raincoat and handed it over, he placed the candle on the table beside him, took it, and placed the rain gear on the corner of the room beside the door to drain.

"I'm hungry. Do you have any food here?"

She heard him ask.

She turned her head.

The rain gear did not completely isolate him from the wind and rain of the night road. His temples and eyebrows were filled with humid weather, and most of his clothes were wet, tightly pressing against his body.

He stood behind her, looking at her, looking tired and looked a little embarrassed.

Mu Fulan hesitated and said, "The chef doesn't sleep here, but there should be some extra food in the kitchen last night. If you don't mind it, take it to you if it's hot."

He rubbed his forehead and whispered, "Okay."

Mu Fulan glanced at him, suppressed his doubts and told him to wait.

She left the house, called the maid sleeping next door, came to the kitchen, found the food left over last night, caught fire, was hot, and brought it back.

It was a while before dawn, and she asked the maid to go to bed again, and she carried the food box and pushed open the door.

On the table, the candle was still lit, shining quietly on the house.

The man disappeared.

Mu Fulan gently placed the food on the table, took the candlestick, and walked in.

She walked a few steps and stopped.

The damp clothes, the belts were untied, and they were hung in a mess on the back of the chair. On the ground in front of the bed, two men's boots were taken off, one of them was upside down.

The man lay on the pillow and occupied the seat where she had been sleeping before, looking at Xier who was still sleeping in the bed, and fell asleep.

The room was quiet, his back was motionless, making a low and even breathing sound.

Mu Fulan held the candlestick in his hand and looked at the big and small figures lying opposite to the bed, motionless.

After a moment, she put away her clothes and slowly retreated.

She opened the window and hung the wet clothes in front of the window.

She blew the candlelight, and in the dark, she hugged her knees alone, sat in a chair, staring at the hazy night outside the window, waiting for dawn.

...

Xie Changgeng opened his eyes and found that it was already dawn.

A rising sunlight shot through the window, illuminating the room red.

A child stood in front of his bed.

The child opened his black eyes wide, as if he was observing him.

Xie Changgeng's gaze stopped for a moment.

The child seemed to have been waiting for a long time. Seeing that he finally opened his eyes, he immediately showed a bit of restrained joy on his face, and he whispered: "Sir Xie, are you awake?"

The sun shines on the place in front of the bed, slightly dazzling.

Xie Changgeng closed his eyes and soon remembered everything.

Last night, in order to avoid his mother, he fled in the panic and drove for more than a hundred miles of night road in the rain. When he arrived here, the person was cold, hungry, and tired. When she went to get him food, he just wanted to lie down and sleep for a while. He didn't want to take off his clothes and touch the pillow. When he smelled a faint warm fragrance left on the pillow, the person completely relaxed and closed his eyes and fell asleep.

He was used to waking up early, but he slept until now and woke up.

He slowly turned over, looked at the child beside him for a moment, raised his hand, and rubbed his little head.

"Where is your mother?" He sat up and looked around.

"Mom is outside! Sir, wait, I'll call her."

Xier turned around and shouted, "Mom! Lord Xie is awake!" She ran all the way.

A moment later, a thin shadow appeared at the door.

The woman walked in with his clothes in her hand, put them down, and said, "The food is in the outer room, and you can eat it after washing."

After saying that, she walked out.

Xie Changgeng silently put on his own clothes and walked out. He saw that the water was coming and the food was placed on the table.

After washing up, he quickly finished eating and walked out.

The stormy night journey last night was like a dream. The horse farm in front of me was shining brightly and endlessly.

The horse farm manager and his men were already waiting to report to him about the repair and rectification after the previous fire.

Since he came, he would be at peace. Xie Changgeng personally toured the horse farm, and after the end, it passed in half a day.

But he didn't want to go back. He called the child over and asked him how he had lived here these few days.

Xier said: "In the morning, my mother taught me to read and practice calligraphy. After reading it, I would play with my little dragon horse."

Xie Changgeng smiled and said, "The little dragon horse can be allowed to ride. Do you want to ride a horse? I'll teach you."

He saw the child's eyes showing a surprise light, and he was about to respond. Suddenly, he looked behind him, ran over, and shouted: "Mom! Lord Xie said he can teach me to ride a horse!"

Xie Changgeng turned his head and saw the woman walking over quickly, holding the child's hand, and shook her head at him: "Xi'er! Master Xie has a lot of things to do, don't disturb him..."

Xie Changgeng walked over and interrupted her.

"I came here just to see the horse farm. There is nothing wrong today, it's okay."

After he finished speaking, he ordered the manager to get a set of bridles and saddles of the pony.

Xiaoma was also led by her entourage. Xie Changgeng personally put on the bridle and saddle, walked over, took Xier out of Mu Fulan's hand, picked up the man, and sat on the saddle.

"You don't have to worry, I will protect him. I will send him back before dark."
