Chapter 360 Winter is coming

TV series are different from movies, but they are the same in some places. For example, if you want to sell well, you rely heavily on promotion and marketing.

With the end of the filming work, the crew will soon enter the post-production stage. Murphy and Cara Fais agreed with Fox Cable that the epic series will officially land on Fox Cable at the end of April to accept audience subscriptions, and the first episode will be held in the previous two weeks.

Since Murphy mainly uses real-life shooting, there are very few shots that require post-production, and the main work is to edit and soundtrack, so the crew does not need too long post-production time.

And unlike movie screenings, Fox Cable TV adopts the traditional American drama broadcasting method. Murphy only needs to be the first to edit the first few episodes, and there is no need to worry about the next few episodes.

This also has the advantage of making appropriate adjustments based on audience feedback in a timely manner.

The crew is now on vacation and post-production will only begin later, but Murphy and several major actors are not idle. Under the 20th Century Fox, they begin to work hard for the promotion and marketing of the series.

Especially Murphy, Stanton Studio invested a lot of money in this series, and his success made him profitable, but if he failed, he would be hurt.

Stanton Studio first announced on the official production blog of "Song of Ice and Fire: Game of Thrones" that all the filming of the series has been completed and will soon enter the post-production stage.

Fox Cable then released news in prime time that "Song of Ice and Fire: Game of Thrones" will officially start on the last Friday at the end of April.

Then, Murphy posted the first poster on his blog, with only a line of eye-catching big words on it April 28, 2006, winter is coming!

Twentieth Century Fox also builds momentum for this TV series in its many media.

"For ten years, or more, people who are fascinated by the "Song of Ice and Fire" series seem to have absolutely strong willpower and confidence in all kinds of cruel news and blows like northerners. Finally, Fox Cable will broadcast the fantasy masterpiece "Song of Ice and Fire: Game of Thrones" at 21:00 on April 28 this year. It can be said that the whole world is waiting to be captured, shocked and influenced by this story from a visual perspective."

Such publicity has also appeared in many mainstream media.

"We have been paying attention from the beginning of this plan until it is about to air. Whether you have read the book or not, you should pay attention to this series because although it takes place on a fantasy continent, its expression and thinking about human nature and behavior are like a microcosm of today's world, which is vivid and intuitive, and cruel and contradictory."

Behind the final $50 million production cost of "Song of Ice and Fire: Game of Thrones", there is a promotional and marketing budget of up to $15 million.

Since the play date is not far from the playback date, Stanton Studios and Twentieth Century Fox jointly started a variety of publicity activities.

In addition to publishing promotional photos, posters and behind-the-scenes production, we also organize book fans activities, produce various souvenirs, and even make special food made from ice and fire for people to taste...

At the same time, Murphy released the second poster, Ned Stark, played by Sean Bin on the Iron Throne, held ice in his hand, frowned, lowered his head and lowered his eyes, as if he was experiencing painful struggles in his heart.

The poster uses red words to highlight the words "Teat.win.or.Teat.die". Either victory or death, this is the rules of the game that must be followed in any world.

As the promoter and director of the project, Murphy also accepted an exclusive interview with Fox TV.

“We were very cautious to some extent when we were dealing with this series,” Murphy talked to the camera lens in the studio at Fox TV. “We have two main screenwriters, including Martin, who are very talented, talented and very smart, and that’s why they have a huge, irresistible attraction.”

The host asked, "Can this be the TV version of the Lord of the Rings trilogy?"

“Absolutely not, it’s more realistic and cruel, it’s really about Game of Thrones,” Murphy said, knowing the audience to face in the future, “this theme will resonate throughout human history. I promise you will soon forget where you are and soon find yourself trapped in the whole story.”

The original novels in North America will be very helpful for viewers, but things are both sides, which invisibly increases the pressure on the producers.

"The audience is extremely eager for the series," Murphy said, "so it must be fine and everyone is looking forward to it. The level and tone of the novel itself are there, so if you want to do it, you have to do it well."

Since the main line of the first season is entirely based on the novel, book fans are the most basic audience group, Murphy also specifically mentioned this aspect.

"It has been ten years since the first novel series of George Martin's "Song of Ice and Fire: Game of Thrones" was released, and the TV series has been filmed today, but for fans of Ice and Fire, it's like a moment."

There is a very necessary reason for paying attention to the original book fans in the first season. It was not until the TV series started filming that Murphy discovered that the original book fans were much more than he had imagined. After all, this series of novels did not appear in recent years. It has been published for nearly ten years. Although the sales situation is not very hot, it is not bad. It can naturally cultivate a group of book fans.

This fantasy novel that is popular all over the world has a large number of obsessed readers, which is undoubtedly good news for Murphy and the TV series.

During the filming, these people always paid attention to the entire crew's every move, and even went to the forest area in Belfast to visit the set. Murphy and Cara Fais could not ignore these.

On this not-so-serious fictional continent, court struggles, battlefield fights, adventures, teenagers’ growth, love and family maintenance... Whether from grand settings, story direction, or small plot changes, the future will be the focus of book fans' attention and comments.

Therefore, the entire crew led by Murphy was extremely cautious in this regard, and explored every detail in countless meetings. The crew's language creation department even created a language for Drogo and his tribe.

“You’ve been working on filmmaking all the time,” the host asked, “why not consider making this series a movie?”

“After completing the first script outline, I really don’t know how to make it into a movie.”

After thinking for a moment, Murphy said in detail, "Make the first book into a 3-hour movie, then I have to cut off almost 90% of the content in the book. I am already very familiar with adapting scripts from novels. Sometimes I have to be cold-blooded and ruthless, but in this plan, I like every storyline and every character. Cutting them off is like amputating a beauty, so the only way is to make it into a series."

At the end of the interview, Murphy mentioned again, "On April 28, Fox Cable TV, winter is coming."

For the rest of February, while performing the post-production of "Song of Ice and Fire: Game of Thrones", Murphy frequently appeared in the media and actively promoted the platform.

Compared to Murphy's busyness, Gal Gadot has more free time recently. Apart from her weekend nights, Murphy doesn't have much time to spend with her. However, after Margot Robbie finished filming, she also transferred to school and stayed in Los Angeles. The two often went out shopping together on weekends, and their relationship became better and better.

"I think this black one is not good..."

In a fashion store on Rodel Street in Beverly Hills, Margot Robbie stood behind Gal Gadot, looked at the black evening gown she was wearing, and said, "Gal, with your figure, you look good in everything, but have you ever thought about it?"

Gal Gadot turned around, looked back at the mirror, and asked, "What are you thinking about?"

"You are going to go to the Oscar red carpet, and Murphy will definitely choose dark dresses." Margot Robbie looked expert, "It would be inappropriate for you to wear black as his female companion. My advice is... white!"

"When are you not studying horse riding," Gal Gadot asked curiously, "had you studied fashion instead?"

"You don't know here..." Margot Robbie showed a little smugness. "I left my hometown farm and first went to a friend of my mother to receive professional modeling training. Fashion aesthetics is a must-learn part of it."

"Well, you have a good attitude." Gal Gadot said to the female clerk standing next to him, "Is there a white model? Well, come and try it."

When the female clerk went to get the same white version, Margot Robbie came over and said, "I'm right to accompany you, right? I've said everything, I can help you."

"Maggie, I miss you forgot." Gal Gadot said with his hands on his chest, "I have participated in the Miss Universe Competition and have received professional training in this area..."

Margot Robbie opened her mouth slightly, "Uh..."

The female clerk took the clothes, Gal Gadot tried it, and decided to ask for this short style that can expose your legs.

“It’s good to have a pair of long legs.”

Looking at Gal Gadot's straight and slender legs, Margot Robbie said enviously, "No matter what clothes you wear, you are beautiful."

These legs were the most satisfying thing about Gal Gadot. He pulled Margot Robbie out of the store and said, "You are still growing your body, and you will soon have long legs."

"Of course!" Margot Robbie seemed confident and asked, "Where are we going next?"

"Go to the men's clothing store." Gal Gadot walked first, "I'm going to choose an Oscar dress for Murphy." (To be continued.)
