Chapter 17 Fighting Monsters

I only realized that today is Double Ninth Festival, and I was so busy with new books during this period.

I wish you all a happy Double Ninth Festival and a happy birthday to my daughter Guoguo.

*********************

It was afternoon, and Yang Kai turned around and walked towards the location where Lingxiao Pavilion was.

I only had three days off, and the day I set off was not counted. I had to rush back before tomorrow morning, otherwise I might be punished.

There is plenty of time. Yang Kai probably is about a hundred miles away from Lingxiao Pavilion now, not too far, and you can arrive before dark.

In his heart, he was looking forward to what kind of improvement the incense burner produced on the third page of the wordless black book will bring to himself. Yang Kai was in a happy mood and his steps were light.

Not halfway through the journey, Yang Kai suddenly heard a burst of roars and heart-wrenching shouts coming from not far away, occasionally mixed with the cry of a child.

Hearing the movement, Yang Kai stopped and quickly turned his ears and listened carefully. After a while, Yang Kai's face changed and he quickly ran towards the direction where the sound came from.

He heard that the roar was roaring at the hunter he met the night before, and the crying was also the movement made by the little boy.

The father and son probably encountered some trouble, otherwise they would not have been so panicked. That night, Yang Kai ate someone's dry food, and he was kind to him, so how could he ignore it now?

As the hunter's roar became more and more desolate, but the little boy's cry gradually became weaker and inaudible.

Yang Kai's face was heavy, and he had a vague premonition in his heart.

When Yang Kai ran to the place, he couldn't even hear the hunter's roar. He saw a dark cave entrance under the high slope. The grass next to the cave entrance was covered with silver spider webs. There was a small bow on the ground, which was the weapon the little boy was holding that night.

Without thinking, Yang Kai quickly threw his things to the ground, widened his eyes, alerted to the movements around him, and rushed directly into the dark hole.

The light in the cave is not bright, but you can see things.

After a fixed eye, Yang Kai was shocked. He saw that the hole was covered with spider webs. Next to the hole wall and on the ground, there were silver-white as thick as chopsticks, interlaced and layered, blocking the road ahead.

The cave was moist and dark, and water was dripping from the top. Yang Kai felt a little sunken when he stepped on it.

He held his breath and walked inward. After walking a few steps, Yang Kai saw a man who was almost wrapped in spider silkworm pupa shaped like a silkworm, lying on the side, revealing only one face, which was the hunter he met the night before.

Yang Kai rushed forward and tried it for a while. He found that the hunter was just irritated and fainted. He was not seriously injured. He quickly pinched his men.

The hunter woke up quietly and immediately said anxiously when he saw Yang Kai: "Save the child! The child was dragged inside, please save the child!"

"Has you been dragged inside?" Yang Kai was shocked and hurriedly loosened the hunter. However, the spider silks wrapped around him were very tough and could not be untied for a while. He could only give up temporarily and pierce into the hole.

The hunter raised his feet behind and said, "Be careful, that's a spider monster!"

When Yang Kai heard the word "monster" and felt a sudden slap in his heart. Monsters are not like ordinary beasts and can only be slaughtered. This thing is a real beast, and no one can be provoked by Yang Kai now.

The reason why the thirty miles outside of Black Wind Mountain is defined as a safe area is that there are no monsters here. But now one has appeared here, which is really unexpected.

Knowing that there were monsters inside, Yang Kai became more cautious in his actions, and walked in for about ten feet before he saw the hunter's son.

The little boy was tied up by spider silk like his father, and stuck to a huge spider web, suspended in the air.

Next to the little boy, a huge flower-backed spider was poking out the straw in his mouth and inserted it into the little boy's arm. Straws of red blood flowed clearly from the little boy's body into the spider's mouth.

On the ground of the cave, all kinds of strange white bones were piled up into mountains. It seems that this spider monster had hunted a lot of prey here.

Yang Kai had no time to consider whether he could compete with this spider. Any delay could cause the little boy to die here. He rushed forward silently.

The huge flower-backed spider probably didn't expect it to be disturbed at this time. While he was having a feast, a brute force hit the side, and the huge spider web was immediately broken into a big hole. The flower-backed spider fell out with Yang Kai, and the little boy also fell to the ground.

Suddenly attacked, the flower-backed spider was furious, and eight long furry feet were swaying on the ground, and the eyes on their heads were also looking at Yang Kai.

Before Yang Kai could get up, he was beaten to the ground by a spider on the back of a flower.

Yang Kai roared, and an iron fist pounded out to the face, hitting the flower-backed spider in the bottom of the mouth, causing it to stagger. Taking this opportunity, he kicked it out again, and finally kicked the spider away.

Rolling on the spot, Yang Kai half-squatted on the ground, alerting the movement of the flower-backed spider.

The confrontation made him feel a little more at ease. This monster was not of high level! Otherwise, he would not have been able to fight with it at all. It was probably just a level one monster.

But even if it is just a first-level monster, it is a bit difficult to deal with with its current strength.

Both sides were looking at the opponent, and the flower-backed spider was not impatient, but Yang Kai was a little impatient because the little boy seemed to have lost too much blood and showed signs of poisoning. If he didn't solve the problem quickly, he would be unable to save him.

Suddenly, the flower-back spider opened his mouthpart, and as he sucked and vomited, a bright silk thread spurted out from the mouthpart and rushed towards Yang Kai.

Yang Kai had experienced the toughness of this spider silk before, and naturally knew that he could not be trapped, so he rolled to the side and barely avoided it.

But the flower-backed spider avoided him and kept spitting spider silk in a place. When Yang Kai realized it, the cave was separated by a huge spider web, completely cutting off the back path, trapping him inside.

"Is this going to force me to fight to the death?" Yang Kai smiled, the only concern disappeared, and the arrogance in his bones was aroused.

In this situation, you will never go out without killing this spider. Since that's the case, you can only fight to the death.

Time was tight, and Yang Kai had no time to delay. He kicked his feet on the ground and quickly approached the flower-backed spider. Another spider silk flew towards him. Yang Kai was wary of his move, so how could he not avoid it?

He avoided three spider silks in succession and finally narrowed the distance with the monster. But before Yang could punch, the flower-backed spider actually raised his front foot and chiseled it at him hard.

Yang Kai raised his arm to block it, and the sharp front foot of the flower-backed spider poked his arm into each other.
