Chapter 10 Adult Tasks

When Arthur finished briefly talking about the encounter with the old dwarf Turutuk, he immediately won Torun's trust.

Toren not only accepted Arthur's invitation to drink with him, but also pestered Arthur about Tulutuk's experience in the Orc Wasteland. When Arthur told him, Toren's eyes kept shining with a longing.

Once the dwarf drinks, he completely lets go, and Toren almost answers Arthur's questions.

Arthur knew from Toren that Turutuk had a very high reputation among dwarves. He liked to explore many places on the continent. He was the most knowledgeable dwarves in the dwarves kingdom. Many young dwarves regarded him as an idol.

The dwarf Torun ran to the Necrotic Heights to complete his adult mission because of his worship of Turutuk.

The symbol of a dwarf's adulthood is that he can independently forge a rare-level equipment. Therefore, the dwarf's adult mission is to collect materials to forge a rare-level equipment for himself. The higher the quality and level of the forged equipment, the higher the honor it wins among the dwarf.

Although the Necrotic Heights are barren and have a harsh environment and are not suitable for survival, they produce several rare and high-quality ores. Torun came here to collect materials in order to forge a piece of top-quality equipment for himself.

"Uncle Arthur, why are you here to the Necrotic Heights?" After a few big glasses of wine, Torun's tongue was already a little rolled up.

"Are you drunk? Although you are not an adult, you are older than me. How can you call me uncle?" Arthur immediately corrected Toren.

The lifespan of dwarves is twice as long as the human race, and can reach 300 years old. Therefore, the age of dwarves to adulthood is nearly twice as many as that of human race. Torun has begun to prepare for the adult mission, so he is naturally thirty years old this year.

"You are Uncle Tulutuk's friend, and that's my elder. Of course I want to call you uncle."

Arthur wondered how he was called uncle by a dwarf who was older than himself, "Friends are not of age. I can become Tulutuk's friend or your friend, so you must not call me uncle, otherwise you will break up with friendship."

Toren thought about it for a while, then said reluctantly: "Okay, Brother Arthur."

Big brother, let me be big brother. Arthur no longer wants to correct this stubborn dwarf. "We came here because we wanted to visit the Dwarf Kingdom. Tulutuk once invited us. Can you take us to the Dwarf Kingdom?"

Arthur lied, and naturally he could not tell the Dwarf that he and Joan were being hunted down, and going to the Dwarf Kingdom was a refuge.

"You are Uncle Tulutuk's friends, and the Dwarf Kingdom will definitely welcome you very much!" Toren looked excited, but then the expression on his face turned to loss. "But I'm very sorry that I can't take you there. I have to collect all the materials for the adult mission in the Necrotic Heights before I can go back."

"Oh, what material are you missing?"

"I want to forge a level 6 battle axe for myself. Now the main material of the axe is already available, and I still have to add spirituality to the axe, increase the silver star stone to resist magic, make the axe blade harder, sharp gold and a suitable axe handle."

Arthur smiled, "Turutuk and I got a lot of rare ores when we ransacked the Orc Tribe in the Orc Wastelands, including the Spirit Mother Stone and the Silver Star Stone, which can be given to you. The pure gold and axe handle can be purchased at high prices in Shining Town, and I can lend you gold coins first."

Toren shook his head quickly, "No, the materials for the dwarf adult mission must be collected by themselves. Even if they buy, they must use the money they earn. They cannot accept gifts from others."

"We are already friends, this is just a mutual help between friends. I may need your help in making equipment in the future?" Arthur continued to try his best to persuade the dwarves. If Torun could lead the way and introduce him, his tour of the dwarves Kingdom would be much smoother.

But Arthur once again experienced the dwarf's stubbornness. No matter what Arthur said, Toren insisted that he had to forge it with the materials he had collected himself to be considered as completing the adult task.

Arthur sighed helplessly, "Let's do it, anyway, we are also traveling around, just accompanying you to collect pure gold and hunt in the Necrotic Heights. How about you exchanged the soul mother stone and silver star stone with me for the harvest of hunting?"

Toren smiled this time, "It's good to do this. You can collect materials with me first, and then I will take you back to the Dwarf Kingdom."

"Do you have a place to live in the town? If not, come back to the hotel with me?" After dealing with the dwarf, Arthur did not want to delay in the bar.

"I live outside the town, which is the place for you humans, and it is not safe for the dwarves."

The dwarf's words reminded Arthur that the order of the town was maintained by the church, and he had just taken action to cut off one hand. The town was even more unsafe for Arthur and Joan.

"Do you have a few more people in your place?"

"We dwarves live in caves. If you don't mind, it's okay to live in many people."

"That's it. My friend and I will stay at your place tonight. Let's go."

The dwarf Torun didn't think much about Arthur's anxiousness to go with him. Instead, he felt that Brother Arthur was too enthusiastic, no wonder he could become friends with Uncle Tulutuk.

Arthur did not say hello to the mercenaries, and directly pulled Joan out of the bar, "Go back to the hotel and call Spencer, we will leave the town now."

Joan was extremely smart. When he saw the dwarf standing beside Arthur, he understood what he thought, and just asked again, "I don't want those goods?"

"If we can use our bracelets and rings to pretend, try to pretend as much as possible. If we can't pretend, give it to those mercenaries."

A quarter of an hour later, at the entrance of Shining Town, four figures of three tall and one short quickly disappeared into the darkness...

......

Arthur and his friends left the Shining Town, and more than a dozen ferocious men broke into the Moon Elf Bar. The Falcon mercenaries who had not left were all defeated without any chance of explanation.

A middle-aged man with dark skin stared at the mercenary lying on the ground, "Where is the mercenary who cut off one of my brother's hands?"

"He is not a member of our mercenary group. They have already escaped early." The mercenary captain struggled to raise his head and explained.

The middle-aged man snorted coldly, "Escape? He provoked our blood skeletons in the Necrotic Heights, and no one could escape!"

At the same time, Priest Fast, who was at the headquarters of the Diocese of Holo Kingdom, was stunned with the magical message he had just sent, "How did Arthur escape to the Shining Town?"

Fast suddenly turned around, "Send a message to the Great Knight who is in charge of guarding the Lingzhang Pass. If he wants him to gather all his strength, he will definitely catch those people for me!"

The priest who was sent to the message walked quickly, and Fast was still whispering to himself: "The years in the Necrotic Highlands are so nostalgic!"
