Chapter 8 The Curse of the Old Times

Su Bai was stunned and silently took the unpacked but reinstalled yellow envelope handed over by his mentor.

There are some photos that still exudes the smell of ink.

He sat down at the table opposite the instructor, looking at the contents of the photos with some curiosity.

It is clearly visible in the photo above that in the muddy yellow sand, some experts wearing professional blue and white archaeological protective clothing are bent down to deal with some of the objects buried in the gravel.

Judging from the exposed part, the sunlight reflects a dull metallic luster, perhaps some mechanical objects from the ancient world.

The tutor on the opposite side said casually: "That was a friend of mine who worked in the archaeological team. Recently, I discovered a larger old world ruin, and some objects may have some value. Of course, these have nothing to do with us. What is important is that the two special stone tablets found in this ruin."

"Stone tablet?"

Su Bai's eyes quickly fell on the second photo.

There, you can indeed see a stone tablet that was already weathered and blurred on the display stand. After careful cleaning, there were still some cracks and mud.

But some of the above characters can be roughly distinguished.

The next moment, Su Bai's pupils suddenly shrank-

"gate of hell……"?!

"What's wrong?" The instructor noticed his strangeness.

"Uh... nothing, I just think that the things in this ancient tomb are even more mysterious and beautiful than I thought..." Su Bai's face kept making excuses, pretending to be surprised, and gently rubbed the photo between his fingers, remembering them firmly in his heart.

Professor Zhang smiled, leaned back and half lying on the chair, looking at the rising sun outside the window, and sighed: "Yes, the mystery of the old era is something that many people dream of. The youth and hard work of our predecessors and generations were put on it, just to see the prosperity and splendor of the old era again."

Su Bai smiled and said nothing.

I was silently chanting like a prank. If I hand over all the knowledge in my memory without reservation, I am afraid you will find that the old era was not as beautiful as heaven as you imagined.

Professor Zhang suddenly paused, looked back at Su Bai, as if he was pointing out: "You are very talented, one of the most powerful students I have ever seen, and are even better than my previous students. If you continue to study, you will definitely achieve far better than me. You can also discover the unknown deeper and more interesting things in the old era!"

Su Bai was stunned and felt that the teacher had something to say.

"Teacher, what secrets do you think there would be in the old era?"

"Secret?" Professor Zhang sighed, "If you can tell it, it's not called a secret. But... as a teacher, I can tell you something."

After pausing, his tone became much more serious: "You can learn more about ordinary culture in the old era, but try not to get into some mystical things, especially during the research process, stop immediately if any suspicious and weird phenomena occur!"

When he said the last sentence, his tone became much more serious, as if he was warning that Su Bai, who had not taken it seriously, became a little more serious.

He hesitated for a moment: "Teacher, do you believe there are ghosts in this world?"

"ghost?"

Professor Zhang's eyes shaking slightly, nodded and shook his head: "Maybe there is, but remember that these are not things that ordinary people should know."

When he said this, his cell phone rang. He clicked on the screen and looked at it, his expression slightly changed: "I'm sorry to have an extraordinary meeting. You can go back first today."

Before leaving the door, Professor Zhang stopped and gave a serious instructor: "Remember what I just said, so that we can go further and safer in the research of culture in the old era."

His expression was so serious that Su Bai still recalled after he left the office for a long time.

"Is it because Professor Zhang has encountered something before that he said that?"

He was suspicious and put the information in his hand back on the professor's desk. He glanced out the window inadvertently, but unexpectedly saw the hurried back of Professor Zhang who had just left outside the first floor.

And several mysterious men in black uniforms standing beside him.

It seems to be talking about something.

But Su Bai didn't understand the lips and couldn't understand what they were saying.

But soon, a business car stopped in front of the teaching building, and Professor Zhang got into the car with a few people.

"It doesn't look like an ordinary meeting..." Su Bai murmured in his heart.

At this moment, one of them seemed to notice something, looked back and met Su Bai's gaze from the window upstairs.

A woman.

His face is very white and beautiful.

This is a rough impression left in his mind.

He pretended to look away inadvertently, and when he waited for a while before looking over, the car had already driven away...

"It shouldn't be my business."

Su Bai frowned.

He left the teaching building and returned to his dormitory, turned on the computer, and first found the encyclopedia to search for the professor's information.

Professor Zhang's reputation is famous in the old cultural circles of the entire alliance, and it is also recorded in detail in the encyclopedia materials, including academic qualifications and a lot of research award-winning experience.

If such a teacher is able to close the door and guide him, Su Bai has basically determined a bright future in this circle.

But in this enviable document, the sharp-eyed Su Bai quickly found some strange places.

"The teacher's student... seems a little strange?"

The following are six or seven disciples with names and surnames recorded above.

The first one of them went to a business company after graduation and started a business copying company. He is still well-known in the circle, but he is not in good health and is often accompanied by a private doctor.

The second student was a very talented rookie, very popular among the seniors in the circle, but unexpectedly, while on a business trip to do archaeological research, he encountered an unexpected landslide and has not found his body so far.

The third student was a girl. Although she was also talented and highly anticipated, she suddenly became crazy and mentally ill overnight as she was about to graduate. She told everyone that there was a ghost to eat her, and even kept self-harm. She eventually had to be imprisoned in a mental hospital.

...

In summary, in fact, Professor Zhang has taught for nearly 30 years and has taught countless students. It is a bit too much to say that "resisting students".

But what is strange is that perhaps it is the default common sense in this circle - the more talented the student is, the greater the probability of something happening!

The more obsessed with exploring the mystery of the old era, the more it seems that it will attract some "unfortunate things"...

Su Bai suddenly understood the concerns about Professor Zhang's words.

The other party was afraid that he would follow the old path of those seniors!

The old era was too mysterious, and things like gods and ghosts were indeed things that ordinary people could not provoke.

Su Bai sighed softly, and he felt a little more respect for the teacher, but he felt a little more curious.

"What kind of thing happened to cause such misfortune..."
