Chapter 035, One Yin and One Yang is called the Tao, and the gods who come to the world do not hurt
Sun Simiao pondered: "The mystery you asked was that you could think about this question at a young age. It is indeed unique. Do you follow the articles of Master Xingyun and have you talked about the classics of various schools?"
Mei Zhenyi shook her head: "It's just to read the text and make words, and it's not to tell the classics and history."
Sun Simiao: "That doesn't matter. As long as you have a good understanding, you can also talk about classics. I once knew a young monk named Huineng. He was illiterate, but he also had the aptitude of a great master of Zen masters... The Book of Changes says, 'One yin and one yang are called Tao, and yin and yang are called gods'. Do you understand?"
Mei Zhenyi: "You can understand the sentences, but please give me some advice on the meaning."
Sun Simiao did not explain, and said, "The "Inner Canon of the Inner Canon" says, 'The birth of things is called transformation, the extreme of things is called change, the unpredictable yin and yang are called gods, and the use of gods is called saints', can you understand?"
Mei Zhenyi: "I understand something, but I can't understand it deeply."
Sun Simiao smiled and said again: "There is a saying in "Laozi" that 'Words come to the world, and the ghosts are not gods. If it is not a ghost, the gods are not harming people.' Can you understand?"
Mei Zhenyi: "Master talks about it very mysteriously, but what I want to ask is very simple. - Is a ghost a dead person? So many people die in the world and don't see so many ghosts. So what are the ghosts? How can God explain it?"
Sun Simiao quoted three sentences from the Book of Changes, the Inner Canon and the Tao Te Ching respectively to talk about ghosts and gods, which made Mei Zhenyi feel even more confused. Sun Simiao looked at him in confusion and smiled, patted his shoulder and said, "If words can fully understand the meaning of the scriptures, why should the saints tell such a mysterious way to make it difficult for future generations?... Child, sit down, I don't expect you to understand the great way in the scriptures immediately, but you can talk about the theory of ghosts and gods. What do those three sentences mean by yourself in the future?"
The word "Shen" has many interpretations and meanings. It can be an adjective or a noun. When used as an adjective, it refers to the unpredictable yin and yang. The so-called yin and yang are a very mysterious concept and are also the internal opposition and dependence of all things, such as day and night, hardness and softness, men and women, arise and death, life and death. When it is a noun, it is used in conjunction with ghosts and gods, what is the concept? First of all, we need to talk about ghosts.
A person dies as a ghost, and ghosts are also called "return", which means "return". When a person dies, all information about him has not completely disappeared. Such as the words, works, the influence of his actions during his lifetime, people's impressions of him, likes, dislikes, fears, etc., are still there. Whether others appreciate or misunderstand him, misunderstand or hate him, this person's life has ended, and it can be concluded and there is no change. But all the information he leaves behind can still be sensed, and the "ghost" is born from the sense of emotion!
Ghosts are the living's response to the deceased, and they appear because of people. So sometimes two people are together. A says I see someone's ghost, and B says I don't see it at all, which is completely normal. Because B has no sense, a certain ghost does not exist for him.
A person's body comes from a little essence and blood given by his parents. He grows up from the grains of heaven and earth. After death, the essence and blood are exhausted, and his body is scattered between heaven and earth and reincarnation. However, this person has settled for his life, so the "ghost" no longer changes, so between the unexpected yin and yang. There is another special situation, that is, this person has not yet ended in heaven, his vitality has not yet disappeared or his soul has not yet disappeared. His "ghost" can be self-conscious and spiritual, and can also practice with the power of others' sensing, and possess magic power to influence external objects. This kind of ghost that self-conscious and spiritual is called Yin God, and the ghosts and gods that Ming Chongyan manages are this Yin God.
In this way, the concept of "god" in "ghosts and gods" is different from "gods and immortals". The former is a noun, while the latter is mostly an adjective, and "god" is used to describe "immortals" transcend the cycle of life and death.
As a noun, there is another meaning, which is to sense it to become a spirit. It is not only the Yin God’s sense itself, but to sense the magical powers with external objects. For example, to practice to become spiritually induced by a mountain and river power, called the land god, mountain god, etc., and to practice to become spiritually induced by a species of objects, such as the flower god. This type of "god" is called "gods". The god of zodiac refers to the status of the Taoist temple. For example, the Taoist temple of the mountain god is such a mountain, which is not completely fixed, and the god of zodiac may also lose the Taoist temple and become a wandering demon spirit.
The status of the god of gods depends on the amount of power he senses external objects. There is a type of god of gods that is the most important. It is enthroned by the emperor who controls the sun, moon, mountains and rivers, has a very respectful position in the Taoist temple, and is worshipped by incense. It can be practiced with the spiritual energy of the Taoist temple and the wishes of the worshiper to achieve great magic power. This type of god of gods is a "god", but no matter whether it is an ordinary god or a high god, it cannot be a human, and even a human cannot be a living person.
There is another very interesting situation, that is, the so-called "god" itself does not exist at all, and is born only by the induction of the god-respecting person. This situation is similar to the "ghost" mentioned above.
If "God" is metaphysically, there is a broad concept that everyone is most familiar with. For example, Buddha, Taishang Laojun, Immortals, Bodhisattvas, and even God, they are called gods. This type of concept of god is "the god of merit that reveals saints". The status of gods that show saints is unparalleled, and their sacredness is inviolable and brutal, and is respected and worshipped by the world. It is different from the concept of "God" just now.
In Sun Simiao's view, as long as people in the world have righteous thoughts and do not lose their actions and their ways, then ghosts and gods will not cause trouble. It is not that ghosts and gods do not cause trouble, but that the world and ghosts and gods are not hurt, so there is no need to talk about them specifically. That is why he quoted the sentence "Laozi": "Work the world with Tao, the ghosts are not gods. If they are not ghosts and gods, the gods do not hurt people." Sun Simiao is a master of Chinese studies and metaphysics, but not a contemporary Marxist. He said such words very reasonable and his views are quite profound.
After Sun Simiao finished speaking, Mei Zhenyi smiled and said, "Master, you can become a god in a hundred years. If the people don't do it well, the people will respect you as the Medicine Prince." He is telling the truth. Behind Sun Simiao was revered as the Medicine King on earth, enjoying incense and worshipping in Taibai Mountain for generations, and being praised by all the people for generations, it can be regarded as a god of merit and saints.
What surprised him was that Sun Simiao did not refute, but smiled faintly and said, "The things that happened afterwards may be like this. If someone respects me as the King of Medicine, it is not to respect the me in front of you now. As a doctor, you have seen it with your own eyes that I cannot cure patients. The respect of the world should be the heart of a 'great doctor'." This old man was neither arrogant nor pretentious. He could think of what he would look like behind him, which made Mei Zhenyi feel even more impressed. Grandmaster, this is the real Grandmaster.
Who is the Prince of Medicine? How many baskets of eggs can the Prince of Medicine collect from fellow villagers? Can the Prince of Medicine cure He Yougu’s disease? The person who collects the Prince of Medicine collects eggs is Sun Simiao in Qiyunguan, and the offering that Prince of Medicine deserves is the sincere heart of a great doctor.
Mei Zhen nodded in a row, and then asked again after a long time, "Since a person dies as a ghost, I heard from my fellow villagers that after a person dies, will there really be an underworld?"
"Yes!" Sun Simiao replied without thinking.
Mei Zhenyi was stunned and then asked, "I heard from the nun in the nun that after a person dies, will there really be a Avici Hell?"
"Yes!" Sun Simiao still answered very simply.
"What's going on with these things? Master didn't mention these when he talked about ghosts and gods just now." Seeing Sun Simiao's answer with such affirmativeness, Mei Zhenyi was very puzzled.
Sun Simiao stood up from Feijinyan, patted Mei Zhenyi's head and said, "No need to talk, nor can you talk. Before the disciple reaches the realm of Great Achievement, the master cannot answer such a question. You may understand the truth in the future...Okay, it's getting late, and we should go back."
Mei Zhenyi patted her butt and stood up: "Master, I have one last question. Among your former disciples, is there anyone named Master Zhengyi? He is upright and upright, just like one."
When talking about ghosts and gods, he remembered the words of Mr. Feng before traveling through time. The rule that ghosts had to enter the cycle of reincarnation was decided by Master Zhengyi. According to Professor Qu Zhengbo, Master Zhengyi was Sun Simiao's disciple, and he was brothers of the Qu family.
Sun Simiao was slightly stunned, then smiled and said, "How could I know this? Don't forget that I am still alive. How do you call a ancestor? If you accept disciples, you must take precepts. This is also one of the precepts of the masters... As for the precepts of my disciples in the future, I will teach them one by one in the future. You just need to remember the most important one now, that is, don't do harm to the life of the gods!" He said that he was still alive. Who dares to call himself a ancestor? That's too obscene. Mei Zhenyi remembered the legend about Master Zhengyi. He heard that Mei Taigong said that it was during the Tianbao period of Emperor Xuanzong, so even Emperor Gaozong of Tang was not dead, and it was still early.
Sun Simiao traveled all over the world in his life, with countless disciples and disciples, but as a traditional practitioner, ordinary disciples and formal successors are two different concepts. After formally becoming a disciple, the disciple needs to take precepts and serve the master with the etiquette of his master for life. If he doesn't want to do this, he will be betray the master, so the conditions for becoming the successor of the robe are quite strict. The brothers of the Qu family are the medicine boys around Sun Simiao, and they are also students of the old gods. Sun Simiao has no reservations in teaching medicine, but they are different from Mei Zhenyi. Sun Simiao took Mei Zhenyi to Feijin Peak to kneel alone, asking, taking precepts is also considered a secret robe and bowl, and handed it to him a hot soul refining banner.
From this day on, Mei Zhenyi officially studied medicine and Taoism under Sun Simiao's disciples, and his title was changed from an old god to a master. At the same time, he accompanied two little maids to study with Master Xingyun. In his spare time, he also practiced martial arts and swords with Mei Dameier and others, and did not delay anything in both civil and military affairs.
Mei Zhenyi has a good foundation in practicing martial arts, mainly because he has a very good understanding, because he has been practicing martial arts since childhood before traveling through time. He has been unpredictable by hitting monkeys and ghosts with one hand. He has already achieved the realm of five qi dying in the Yuan Dynasty. Learning internal and external skills at this time is equivalent to returning to the furnace to strive for excellence. Many people have a fantasy in their hearts, regretting that they were wasting time when they were studying, and it would be great if they could go back to time and do it again. Mei Zhenyi also had this idea. At this time, God gave him this opportunity, so he followed Mei Yi to learn martial arts without being too aggressive, but to make the basic skills very solid.
Mei Yi was very surprised by his performance. The young master did not look like a junior from the Housing family at all, and was a martial arts genius. He once sighed to Zhang Guo privately: "The young master is a talented genius. If he continues to learn like this, I will have nothing to teach him in less than a year or two." I don't know if Mei Zhenyi blushed when she heard these words?
Less gossip, spring is already blooming. Plum Zhenyi learns literature, martial arts, and medicine. She lives a fulfilling and free life. She occasionally slips out of Qiyunguan and goes around Wuzhou City.
Mei Yi was not in the villa on this day because he stayed in Wuzhou for a long time. Mei Zhenyi saw that he was alone and suggested that he bring his family from Chang'an. This day was the day when Mei Yi's family crossed the river. He went north to greet the ferry on the south bank of the Yangtze River. Mei Damei and the other six brothers let the ducks go out and play. It just so happened that the Qu brothers had nothing to do on this day, so they went down the mountain together.
This time, he did not take a sedan chair or take a maid to serve him. Nine young men rode horses away from Qiyunguan. With the six brothers of the Mei family, Mei Zhenyi was a person who was not hurt by ghosts and gods in the city. In the territory of Wuzhou, no matter whether it was light or dark, black or white, or soft or hard, there were not many people who could offend this little marquis, and Zhang Guo was relieved not to follow him.
A group of people went to Jingting Mountain first, and Mei Zhenyi had to inspect the site of the Shenshu Temple. Because Mei Xiaolang once sent a message - "If you have kindness, you should build a shrine for Luxue." To eliminate the disaster of Ming Chongyan, you must first thank Luxue for reporting and helping. She has great kindness to the Mei family. After that incident, Luxue never appeared again. Mei Zhenyi has not seen her with her own eyes so far, but the matter of setting up a shrine still needs to be done.
The location that Mei Zhenyi selected is in a valley near the foot of the mountain. A clear spring flows out from the mountain wall next to it to form a stream, surrounded by green bamboo forests on three sides, and wild peaches and wild tea trees dotted by the stream. The scenery and feng shui are quite good.
The foot of Jingting Mountain is twenty miles away from the north gate of Wuzhou City. Next to the road to the city is the famous "Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms" in Wuzhou. There are orchards on both sides of this ten miles road. The flowers bloom in spring and the garden is full of red sunshine. After walking through the Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms Road, there is a blue lake called Jingting Lake next to the road between Wuzhou and Jingting Mountain. Opposite Jingting Lake is the famous "Wanjia Hotel" in Wuzhou. The hotel is exactly ten miles away from Wuzhou City.
The owner of Wanjia Hotel is not surnamed Wan, but is named Ji Shancheng. His family's ancestral cooking skills are good, especially wild game, which is very authentic. For example, there is a dish called "fried wild chick" with a spicy taste. Chili is said to be native to America and brought out by Columbus to the whole world. So there shouldn't be chili peppers in the Tang Dynasty. But as Mei Zhenyi saw with her own eyes, a kind of thing called Chaotian Lantern Fruit grew in the wild in Wuzhou. The fruits can be dried for seasonings, and the taste of cooking is fragrant and spicy.
However, the most famous thing about Wanjia Hotel is not the dish but the wine - the old chamomile brewed by the Ji family. It is hard to tell what kind of wine is this. The wine is slightly stronger than the Huadiao, with a transparent amber color, light bitter and slightly sweet at the entrance, and the fragrance is rich in detail. Many people come to see the old chamomile. Because the wine is homemade, the production is limited, and it is only sold in the hotel and not takeout.
Walking on the Peach Blossom Road in Ten Miles, Mei Zhenyi was also very interested and joked with the six servants: "You guys have been following me for so long and don't even have a name. They will become famous in the future, and it won't sound good if they spread."
Mei Da replied in a regular manner: "We are taken in by the Mei Mansion, and we are from the Mei family. Mei Da is my name, how can we say Wuming?"
Mei Liu on the side was very well-behaved. He heard the words in the young master's words, so he immediately got off the horse and came to Mei Zhenyi Ma to salute and said, "If the young master thinks that our names are too simple and unpleasant, please give them a name."
The other five people also reacted when they heard Mei Liu's words, and they all dismounted and bowed, "Please give me a name!"
Mei Zhenyi smiled and said, "You don't need to change the name, just add one word to each, just call it Mei Dadong, Mei Ernan, Mei Sanxi, Mei Si Si Bei, Mei Wu Middle, Mei Six Fa, I will also give myself a small trumpet called Mei Qibai."
Qu Zhenming applauded and said, "Good, good, good, good, and the five elements are all in the east, south, west, north, and middle!... But, what does it mean to be white?"
Mei Zhenyi: "You don't know this, right? It's white, which means the sky is just beginning to move."
Qu Zhensheng frowned and said, "It is natural that Young Master Mei gives the name to his servants. You don't have to call yourself Mei Qibai, right? This is inappropriate."
Mei Zhenyi raised her horse whip: "What's wrong? It's just a name. I want to call Mei Xi. Mei Qibai is just a secret codeword. It's enough for everyone to understand. You guys, don't call me that in front of others...Okay, get on the horse quickly, where to go today? What are your good ideas?"
