004 Conversation at the Leaky Cauldron
After seeing Harry and the others, Lawrence returned to the carriage where the twins and Luna were. Nothing happened again during the rest of the journey. The dementor cast a shadow on the psychology of every student. The few cars that were always laughing were rarely quiet.
The train stopped on the small platform in Hogsmeade Village, and every student rushed to squeeze onto the platform. Lawrence looked up at the gray clouds that were following the shadows of the sky.
"First-year student, go here-" Hagrid shouted as usual,
"Are we taking a carriage?" Luna asked, "the carriages that those creatures are pulling?"
"What? Oh, yes," George replied, "We'll take a carriage."
"Nothing is pulling the carriage." Fred looked at Luna with a little strange, "It's always empty-"
"That's the Theatres, in fact, I can see them now," Lawrence said. "The magical creatures can only be seen by those who have witnessed death directly."
"I've heard of this guy," George was a little surprised, "but I heard they were a little unknown?"
"It's just a rumor. In fact, they have an amazing sense of direction and always find people who need them," Lawrence replied. "As long as they are tamed, they are smart, friendly, and fly very quickly."
"Can you see it? So you all have witnessed it-" Fred remembered what Luna said in the carriage and quickly changed his words, "I mean, when did you witness death? Lawrence? You haven't said it before."
"This summer vacation, I attended the funeral of Nicole Lemay and the Philosopher's Stone, do you still remember?" Lawrence simply described the funeral scene, but he omitted the part of the distribution of the inheritance.
"An amazing experience," George said. "This is a true legend, right?"
"Welcome to death," Fred didn't understand, "Smart people are always puzzled. How can death be considered just 'that'?"
Lawrence did not answer. Luna looked at Yeshi for no reason. Her silver-gray eyes reflected Yeshi's black body that had no trace of flesh. The black skin was close to the bones, the dragon-like head, the wings grown from the shoulder bones were closed on both sides of the body, and the long tail was shaking.
"Well, it's the dementor again." The carriage crashed into a cold air. Lawrence raised his head. His right hand hidden in his robe held the wand. At this time, they passed by a gorgeous iron door. Two tall dementors stood quietly on both sides. The wide cloaks were swinging, and the rotten hands were exposed from the sleeves of the robe.
"It's much better than on the train." Fred breathed, the white heat dissipated with the wind, the carriage gradually moved away from there, and the temperature returned to normal.
"Just now there were only two," Lawrence said. "There may be more than fifty on the train, and the more it is, the harder it is to deal with."
"Don't you know if it's reliable?" George said in a brisk tone. "But I think Dumbredo can deal with them."
The carriage staggered at the school gate, and the twins pushed Lawrence, and they pointed at Professor McGonagall standing at the school gate.
"Lawrence, you're doing a good job. Professor Lupin wrote an owl in the car and told me." Professor McGonagall's serious expression rarely smiled, "Get in quickly."
"Potter! Granger! Come with me-" Professor McGonagall's shout came from behind. They turned around. Harry and Hermione looked surprised. They obviously didn't understand why Professor McGonagall was looking for them.
"I thought I was here to trouble us." George whispered, pointing at a student with no head not far away,
"Look, our products." Fred said excitedly.
"Professor McGonagall is a good teacher," Luna said suddenly, "We in Lavenclaw think that your products may disturb us in class-"
"Uh, of course," George replied, "We didn't say she was bad, we just were a little harsh-"
"That's great, we think she's trying to let us learn more useful things," Luna said. "If she can praise her, she will definitely be very good."
The twins looked at each other. They rarely heard how students from other colleges talked about the dean of their colleges.
"Well, in fact, we think Professor McGonagall is like you guys in Ravenclaw," Fred complained in a low voice, "both lacks humor."
"Knowledge is treasure. How can it disturb other people who pursue knowledge?" Luna couldn't understand. They walked into the hall and separated. Lawrence and the twins walked towards Glenfindo's dining table, while Luna walked back to Lavenclaw's dining table.
"Luna reminds us," George said thoughtfully, "It should not disturb others who want to attend classes."
"Then we should study something," Fred replied quickly, "that something that allows people who don't want to attend classes to leave the classroom smoothly."
"Hey," Lawrence couldn't help but smile, "As long as it is a violation of the school rules, your reaction is always very fast."
"Of course," the twins replied proudly, "We are professional."
They began to discuss in a lively manner how to leave the classroom reasonably. Until the classification was over, Dunley didn't mention Lawrence's name and the other three stopped discussing it.
"Many people may disagree with me," Dunbuli said in a serious tone, "Some of you may know that on the train, Lawrence Rovande, the new chief of Glenfindo, defeated at least fifty dementors alone - you may think that the guardian spell is just like this, and a fifteen-year-old wizard can perform it perfectly?"
"I must say, this is an amazing achievement. Many ordinary adult wizards cannot even play a tangible patron saint. This requires a lot of practice. I want to emphasize again-" Dumblido's eyes swept over every student in the hall. "This is a piece of advice and a warning that dementors will not understand your explanations and excuses. Don't try to hide them. Invisible cloaks or illusion techniques are ineffective against them. Don't try to leave the campus in violation of school rules, don't give them a chance to hurt you-that will be more painful than death."
"What do you think?" Fred asked, "We are going to take the O.W.L exam this semester, so there should be no time to leave the campus?"
"And we have something we want to develop again," George shrugged, "It should be very busy this year."
"Lawrence, you're fine," Fred pushed Lawrence with his elbow, "and they'll destroy them if they block the way."
"Well, let's relax. Now there are two happy things to announce," Dumbledore said with a smile. "We have two teachers who will join us-"
"Professor Remus Lupin, he will serve as our professor of dark magic defense," Dumbledore said. The applause in the hall was not very warm, but several students who knew Professor Lupin's performance on the train clapped their hands.
"I think our Dark Magic Defense will finally be able to attend class this year?" Fred asked with some uncertainty.
"When Professor Lupin was able to perform the guardian god, I drove away the dementors, there were also people in the last few cars. I think it should be him," Lawrence said a fact, "and look at Professor McGonagall."
"Can Professor Lupin chat with Professor McGonagall?" George said in a dreamy tone. Everyone could understand his surprise. Who can the serious Professor McGonagall chat with? As Luna said, that person must be very outstanding.
"Maybe he was a student of Professor McGonagall?" Fred guessed, "I feel that Professor Lupin is not old."
"I don't know which college it is," George asked, "but it's not Slytherin. I mean, those who can get in will definitely not be as poor as we do, right?"
They smiled. Professor Lupin's nails and old suitcases showed that he was not rich, and Lawrence also heard him say in the car that he needed the job.
"Second teacher, I must announce it regretfully," Dumbledore continued. "We have protected Professor Kettleborne of Magical Biology and resigned to spend the rest of his life with him, so we welcome the key administrator and the guard of the hunting ground, Ruber Hagrid, to take on this vacant teaching position."
Everyone clapped their hands, Glenfindo's students were particularly enthusiastic, Hagrid's face was swollen and red, his big hands were combed through his messy black beard, but it was too strong and accidentally broke some of them.
"Oh my God, no wonder this year's book is like this." George yelled with a smile,
"There are so many magical creatures in Hogwarts," Fred said. "Hagir must know a lot if he can tame them, right?"
"Maybe? Actually, I think," Lawrence answered inconclusively, "Hagin's way of dealing with those creatures is more like an instinct--the three-headed dogs don't have any way of taming them in publication."
"Don't worry, now we can start eating, right?" George looked at the empty plate on the dining table. At this time, Dumbledore was just about to announce the start of the meal. George grabbed a plate of roast beef with satisfaction, "I'm hungry--ah, it's so great--"
The hall echoed with the sound of talking and laughter, and the sound of knife and fork hitting the dining plate. Although there were dementors outside the school, it obviously made everyone excited about the start of school.
"We are in the fifth grade." Lawrence suddenly said seriously, "You will definitely fulfill your dream."
"Why are you so serious all of a sudden?" Fred said with a smile, and he also took a glass of pumpkin juice. "Isn't this a must? We agreed in the first grade."
"You must also find your dreams soon," George said, blinking at Lawrence. "Even if you are like Percy, you have the ambition to become the Minister of Magic, we will be responsible for helping you get Percy out and let you lose one opponent."
"Oh, less stupid," Lawrence said, and the three of them laughed, each of them picked up a glass of pumpkin juice and toast.
