Chapter eight hundred and forty-six the catwoman shape that has never been seen before

"If the Scarecrow is a lunatic and the Clown is an anarchist, then Bain is an absolute terrorist. Not only is he high IQ, but he also has extremely cruel means... His physical condition is very superior and his brain is particularly good, which also makes him much more dangerous than other criminals."

Standing at the door of Warner Studios, Duke answered some questions from the reporters about the film's villain. "In the process of deciding what kind of opponent to place Batman, my team and I realized that there must be an imperative change here, that is, choose a villain who is completely different from the "Joker", but has the same powerful means and background..."

Since he had broken the news silence before, Duke didn't mind saying a few more words, "First of all, this person must be able to compete with Bruce Wayne who has transformed into 'Batman', and all these are things that the first two films do not need to be considered or involved, because I really want to see that our protagonist is facing a close opponent, and even mentally difficult to tell. What Bain shows us is a very primitive power, and he is blindly obsessed with what he is doing. Only death can stop him from moving forward."

When he entered Warner Studios, Duke did not go to his office, but went directly to a styling design room. Several designers were stepping up the design and production of Bain and Catwoman's equipment.

When designing Bain's clothing, Duke wanted to make an effect, which looked like a 'patched amalgam mix', because Bain came from a long distance, part of his vest was cut from an old military tent, his clothes were militaristic, but they were definitely not considered uniforms.

Of course, Bain's most prominent decoration is the ferocious mask on his face, which needs to be tightly tied to his face. This is a device that constantly injects painkillers into his face. This physical torture comes from the harm he suffered in the past and was once in desperate situation.

"He lives normally with this mask. You said that he carries his past full of shame and hatred. His face reminds him of these things at all times, and makes him a real monster."

Hanna Serena, who was in charge of Bain's mask, said to Duke, "So, we designed the mask very animalistic. It looks like it is in a strong contrast with Batman's mask...and it can't be black."

The mask was made by the costume effect team and was also made into a digital mapping model based on Dwayne Johnson's face and head.

Clothing effect supervisor Graham Cheziard explained to Duke, "For us, Bain's mask must fit the same as fake skin. However, it does not completely look like fake skin, and looks like it was designed from a metal mold. We use Dwayne Johnson's computer casting, use a three-dimensional model to make each piece of hard block, and then fit it to the outline of his head, so that the mask will be tightly clasped on his face without any gaps."

Judging from the actual effect of wearing Dwayne Johnson when taking stills, it is not the most appropriate to describe it as airtight.

The mask clamped Dwayne Johnson's head like a vise. With his cooperation and patience, the clothing effect group made the mask tighter.

There is a magnetic removal plate on the front of this mask, so the visible part of the naked eye has a series of magnets under it, and there is a layer of rubber seal under the magnet, which completely isolates the air like a sealing can and is firmly embedded in Dwayne Johnson's skin. It takes courage to wear it. Not to mention wearing it and acting, it sounds unbearable.

But that's part of the job of Hollywood actors.

Bain's mask is much more important than form, and the mask worn by Selena Kyle combines function and beauty.

Compared to Bain's equipment that has entered the production stage, Catwoman's preparation is still on design.

After walking around the design room, Duke sat in front of the computer and looked at several concept pictures of the clothing effect group design. He was not very satisfied, especially the shape of the pointed ears, which showed too much of the cat's special shape.

He called out Hannah Selena and the costume effect supervisor Graham Cheziad.

"The appearance of this character is of great significance, because she is Catwoman first and Selena Kyle second."

Pointing to the pointed ears on the computer screen, Duke said, "My request is how to shape a cat ear, but avoid making it into a pair of cat ears."

After hearing what he said, Graham Cheziard took out a USB flash drive and inserted it into the computer screen. Duke took the initiative to let the seat open and stood behind.

Graham Cheziard was not polite either. He sat on the chair, opened the USB flash drive, and clicked on several design drawings, all of which were Catwoman's equipment concept drawings.

He flipped and said to Duke and Hanna Serena behind him, "This is an alternative version. I was inspired by night vision goggles to make the outline of the cat's ears rolling up on her head, which seemed to be there and nothing."

After looking carefully, Duke nodded in agreement, "This is more suitable than the previous ones."

"I will make changes again." Graham Cheziard said, "As long as this concept is mature, the manufacturing team can be very practical and then sent to you."

Duke reminded him again, "All the subtle details in the portrait must be logically extremely reasonable."

In addition to the night vision goggles, the concept picture also has Catwoman's clothing design drawings.

"I think her cat suit is also quite practical, allowing her to disappear into the darkness in an instant, ready to attack at any time," Graham Cheziard added. "When Selena Kyle is not wearing cat suits, she is always used to wearing black clothes, ready to adjust herself for any occasion. I think she has a typical chameleon personality."

That's true. In the script setting, Selena Kyle is not a powerful superpower, but a thief who can escape from a certain scene at any time. She is always ready to hide her entire identity or multiple identities.

In this design pattern, Selena Kyle's cat suit is actually divided into two parts, but there is an additional belt with tight function, which looks like wearing a one-piece suit. The whole cat suit also includes a pair of elbow gloves and high heels over the knee high boots, both of which are hidden.

"Actually they are all weapons."

Graham Cheziard continued to explain, "I imagine that making cat clothes requires two layers of material, the outer layer is polyurethane-coated elastic spandex printed with hexagonal shading, which is a streamlined overall, completely outlining the beautiful figure of the catwoman, but not too ostentatious."

In the subsequent discussion, Duke decided on the initial look of Catwoman.

For the setting of Catwoman's glasses, the initial shape is to extend a pair of sharp corners from both sides of the sunglasses. When they stay on her head, they look like ears. According to Duke's requirements, Catwoman's glasses should appear beyond the audience's expectations, and the effect of the glasses should slowly slide towards her head like a pair of sunglasses mounted on Selena Kyle's face.

But after Gal Gadot tried it on, Duke felt that the effect was not ideal.

There is obviously a problem with this design, and when the glasses are clasped on Gal Gadot's face, the character will look stupid.

So Graham Cheziard re-improve the design, using additional hinges on the frame to extend both sides of the border to her ears, and he also made a quick three-dimensional animation to describe his concept, which Duke admired.

After being recognized by Duke, Graham Cheziard began to design the complete design, designing how it interacts with the external goggles, making samples again, and after trial-in by Gal Gadot, even Duke had to admit that he really loved the creativity too much and refused to let the technicians modify and improve it.

The Catwoman's Styling project is more like a project that combines engineering and aesthetics. Compared with other forms of design, it emphasizes the need to combine external forms and internal functions, which is a kind of thing that no one has ever tried in the Catwoman role.

Since the cat suit is like skin, tightly tied to Selena Kyle from head to toe, the actor is really out of sight. Gale Gado has been conducting physical training with a sports coach to ensure that his body shape and athletic ability can make him wear such tight clothes with ease.

How could it be possible to let audiences all over the world see their tightly tight figure on the big screen and not go to the gym to exercise?

Also, Selena Kyle needs to ride a bat motorcycle in the video.

However, Duke has no special requirements for actors in this regard. Although it is an arcade, it is not easy to control. The driver needs to have enough strength and special skills to control the motorcycle freely.

In the process of filming "The Dark Knight", only one person could actually drive a bat motorcycle, which was the professional stunt actor Jean Pierre Goe.

He also accepted Duke's invitation again to continue to serve as the driver of the Bat Motorcycle and also served as the driving stand-in for Gal Gadot and Christian Bale.

Jean Pierre Goe and Christian Bale have similar figures, as long as they are not close-ups on the front, they don’t even need post-adjustment. However, he is far from Gal Gadot, but with today’s computer special effects technology, it is not too difficult or technical to replace people riding on bat motorcycles in post-production.

Digital technology gives movies more convenience. Duke still uses digital technology from filming to production.

Of course, 3d and imax are also essential. (To be continued.)
